Uhm. Today I listen to the song "Mr Postman" by The Carpenters. In the video, they visit DW in Florida and they make me feel sad because I'm not young anymore.

However the film all takes place in Anaheim's Disneyland.

I am glad Tokyo Disney has reopened. It would be good to take the children there and escape all that is going on in Japan for a few hours anyway.

They have been averaging only 10,000 guests p/day. At that rate, they will probably have to have some serious "experience" cutbacks. Perhaps that is why DisneySea is not open yet.

God knows those people need something to smile about. Disney and their professional baseball are back on track - thank goodness.

Could be really crowded in the future. Think of all the people who make a yearly TDL Spring Break and are giving it up this year. When the time comes, the pent up demand will be released.

Hopefully it will eventually be crowded beyond belief. Only problem......Disney has no compassion. No....Disney will suck compassion from all around them. If they are not making a double-digit profit - there will be slashings. Trust me.....been there.....watched it happen. Anything they can cutback they will.....things beyond belief they will cut too. Then, when $$$ returns.....they will keep employee levels the same and reintroduce the minimum possible to get by.

It's the Disney way 2009 and beyond.


Happily, the guests in Toyko probably won't care a moment while they can visit Disneyland again.

Bottom line- they need to smile again.

To Disney - $$ is $$ no matter how it comes into the bank account.

Trust me.....they know to the penny how much $$$ they have lost in Toyko and will bleed it no matter how it is possible. Disney doesn't really care HOW the loss was created - just that it IS corrected and projections stay on track - no matter who they step on.

Hey - as folks here say....after all Disney is just a business responsible for making a profit!!!



Outside the U.S. the main Disney theme parks and resorts include Disneyland Paris, Disneyland Hong Kong and Disneyland Tokyo. The company has 51% ownership in Disneyland Paris and 47% in Disneyland HongKong. However, Tokyo Disneyland is different in the sense that Disney has a licensing agreement with OLC group that operates the theme parks, hotels and resorts in Tokyo.
Under the licensing agreement that Disney reached with OLC group in 1979, OLC agreed to pay 10% of its admission revenues and 5% of its food and souvenir revenues as royalty to Disney. To take a rough figure, we assume that OLC pays 7.5% of its revenues earned from theme parks to Disney as royalties. Out of about revenues of 371, 415 million yen that OLC Group earned in its fiscal year ended March 2010, about 77% was attributable to theme parks Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. If we do math, this amounts to royalties of roughly 21,450 million yen. This will be somewhere close to $230 million based on exchange rates around March 2010.Now these are pure profits. Looking at overall cash profits, it seems that a significant part of Disney's cash profits from parks and resorts is coming from Tokyo theme parks. Thus,Tokyo resort operations hold significance for Disney, even though Disney is not directly involved in it.

Don't forget Disney's head-lock of Florida government. Talk about controlling. What has Disney done about it --- started with the purchase of the property and continues into today.

Trust me......nothing more important to Disney than $$$$$$$$ and they are well practiced at getting their way.
