toddlers and "wishes"

Has anyone seen the new MK fireworks show "wishes" with a toddler? I was wondering how my 2 year old will react-is it an intense show, likely to frighten very young children?

I'm wondering the same thing. Maybe it would be best if we watched if from afar???

We watched it last week with my 2 1/2 year old and she did just fine. The music/soundtrack is very happy and upbeat. The fireworks are loud, but they are very high, so they aren't too intense. We were standing about 1/2 way down Main St.

We saw Illuminations the night before and when it was over, she said "that a little scary." However, Illuminations is much more intense- the music is heavy, there is a lot of close fire, and the fireworks are much lower and louder.

Unless your toddler is especially sensitive, I think you'll be fine.

WE watched it in October with my 2 1/2 year old. She does not like loud noises, had her hands covered the whole time, wanted Daddy to hold her...but she enjoyed them through all that. We were at the end of main street...pretty close. I would suggest being farther away as well...it's a wonderful show. If your not right on the lagoon for Illuminations, you'll miss alot of the grouond/water show...but I would suggest being a little farther away for that too.

He loved it. Lots of oohs and aaahs - He has asked for more fireworks almost every night since. LOL.

We watched from Liberty Square, great view, no crowds and I dont think as loud as on Main street.

wishes is breathtaking......it is a must see for everyone....

We watched it last week from behind the castle in fantasyland in front of Ariels grotto. This is closer to the fireworks going off. DD2 was very scared and had to retreat indoors to the Pooh shop until it was over. She is almost 2. DD1 does not like loud noises. She covered her ears and enjoyed the show. It is very beautiful, but next time we will try farther away, or maybe at a restaurant or the Poly beach.

My DD was 21 months old when we went in January. We were between Casey's and the Tip board on Main Street to watch Spectromagic (which she loved) and then we just stayed there to watch the fireworks. They were spectacular.

But... our DD got bored. See, the night before we did Fantasmic!, and then we walked to Epoct and got a great view of Illuminations! I think by the next night and Wishes, she was all fireworked out.

I will say, however, that having her watch one or the other of the first two would have been a great intro for Wishes. I think both in one night was a little much for her, though (not that she complained!). And I have to say I think she liked Fantasmic! best. She calle them the "Mickey Fireworks".

my 3½ year old DS does not like loud noises at all, we're talking to the point that he complains that some restaurants are "too loud for me!" Fireworks scare him so we knew we had to go prepared. I brought him ear plugs and explained well in advance that he was going to wear "special ear plugs" for the "magic fireworks" so the booms wouldn't be too loud. He was a little fussy when we said it was time to put them in but once they were in he did fine. We watched Wishes from Liberty square and he did great! We got him popcorn to eat which was just a huge thrill to him for some reason and between that and DH putting him up on his shoulders, he was happy as could be. He reminds me fairly often not to forget to pack his "special ear pluggers" for our next trip.

My big concern with him is Fantasmic. I really want to see it but I'm afraid he will flip out over it.

We watched it from the 15th floor observation deck at the Contemproray, where the music was piped in. A great vantage point and not too noisy for those who get frightened of the noise. The best part was that we were down the elevator, in our car and back to our hotel before we'd have ever escaped the theme park. Just a suggestion to help out the cranky toddlers.

I think it depends on the child. DS hated all of the fireworks when he was two. We went again shortly before his 3rd birthday and beforehand he kept saying he was a big boy and wasn't afraid of fireworks anymore. Well guess what, he was wrong, LOL. He fell asleep right before Wishes started so that was good. During Illuminations DH held him and covered his ears.
