Hello! I’m just curious, for those with very small children who book 1 bedrooms, where do you have your child sleep? We have a 2.5 year old (will be nearly 3 when we go) and he is getting big for a pack and play but I don’t know that I’m comfortable having him sleep on a Murphy bed alone in the kitchen/living area. Maybe studios are better with small children but then there is the issue of not having a kitchen.

Family of 4, kids are 7 and 5. We almost always stay in DVC 1-bedrooms. Wife and daughter sleep in bedroom and son and I sleep on murphy or pullout. If we had one kid, we'd do exactly what PP said.

On occasion my wife, daughter and MIL all sleep in the king :)

When ours were little, we traveled with a child's blow up mattress and used the BWV walk-in closet for a separate sleeping area. I don't know if any other resorts have a big enough walk-in, tho. Our middle child required solitude to sleep and it was our best option. We never exceeded the occupancy requirement.

A blow up mattress is a good idea! Hadn’t considered that!

My husband and I have twin boys. We have been going since they were 18 months old, currently they are 6. We’ve only stayed in one bedrooms and they do sleep in the pullout beds every time. I get two kids vs. one helps but I also bring nightlights and I let them fall asleep with the tv on. Most likely they will fall asleep fast. When we would give them naps we would put them in the bedroom. Hope this helps.

We stayed at VGF this summer and actually put the pack n play in the side of the bedroom on other side of night stand. Rooms were very spacious. We are going again soon and I’m wondering if I can utilize a mattress from the single bed in tv entertainment center

We bought inflatable bed bumpers and our daughter loves the Murphy bed. She’s 3 and has no issue sleeping in her own room at home. It’s not like 1 bedrooms are that big; we make the whole place inviting with nightlights etc.

At VGF that closet is almost another bedroom. I think it was almost as big as my bedroom my last year in college.

Just slept in a king with my almost 4 year old and it was no deal. I'm not a great sleeper but it actually was fine. I'm petite, though so I don't need a lot of space. If you both are super tall, then maybe it would be more of a squeeze. We had plenty of room. Even the night we switched the 4 for the 8 - either one left space for the parents.

We used just the mattress from the Pack N Play a couple times. They might be bringing big cribs now, so you could just ask for the mattress. Now I have a kid's camping mattress in the Owner's Locker.

We took the mattress off the Murphy and put it in the bedroom once.

Is there a specific reason?

We plan on having both a 2 and 4 year old in the main living room likely of a 2 bedroom just next month.

You could put the kid in the closet (keep the door open) and they could sleep on blankets or blow up mattress.

Main reason for a larger room is to get a wall divison between us and the kids. Kitchen and Laundry though are nice as well.

I figured they slept in their room at home, they could sleep a door away at Disney. But there is plenty of room to throw a bed on the floor of the master bedroom.

My son isn’t the best sleeper, we keep him in his crib with a sleep sack so he can’t get out of bed at night. I worry if he wakes up alone in a new place he will get up and wander around. I just don’t like the thought of me possibly sleeping while he is wandering. I know this might seem a little neurotic, we just don’t have a ton of experience with sleeping places other than home due to the majority of his life being in a pandemic.

At least some of the resorts have been using the hotel metal cribs since Covid. The rolling ones you get at nice hotels. It's possible you get one of those. It wouldn't surprise me if you could ask for one. Or you put him on a crib/Pack N Play mattress next to your bed. Plenty of room in a 1BR master.

Ours always slept on the pullouts in the living room. They slept in their own room at home, so we never thought twice about it while on vacation either.

Just want to add my additional thoughts on toddlers in the separate area of a 1 br villa. We had one child (out of 3) that we just didn't trust to be near the kitchen stove or the outside door during the night. Very inquisitive and a little houdini. We had an alarm system at home that would alert us if he got out of his bedroom at night. Some kids are fine and are so completely zonked out after a day in the parks that they don't wake up in the night but others are not. A blow-up mattress in the master bedroom somewhere was our best solution.

Every family is different and that was the best solution for us. I'm loving all of the options presented!
