My DH surprised me for my bday w/ a WDW trip for next yr that I can go ahead and book now but I am in a little bit of a pickle.
We are due w/ baby #2 in Nov & have a DDjust turned 2.
For those of you who have traveled w/ both a toddler & an infant, what was a good age to travel w/ the infant? Was it easier when they were only a few months old, as they sleep a lot of the time? Feeding is not an issue as I BF & am fine doing it in the sling.
I'm worried that if I wait until later next yr, the new baby will be too active.
Any thoughts?

We just went when DS was 2.5 and DD was 6 mo. We had an awesome time!

We packed as much disposable things as possible (changing pads, bibs, spoons). We pretty much kept to DS's schedule as much as we could. DD just rolled with it. She slept when she wanted to, ate whenever. She really wasn't that much work! We took our own stroller as Disney stroller rentals are high and they're not built for little little ones... We also took along our baby backpack so she could be out of the stroller.

She rode every ride DS did except Barnstormer, Dumbo, and Pooh. We covered all four parks and there were several things she lit up over (she was even part of the show at Monster's Inc Laugh Floor)!

I vote that you go while baby is still young enough to not be moving too much, but old enough that you have their schedule and personality down!

We went in March when dd was 2.5 and ds was 8.5 months. It was a great time. He enjoyed it and was sleeping thru the night by that time, so we all got to rest.

We went when DD was 3 and the baby was 2.5 months. I was quite nervous about the baby's age -- but we had a great time.

I was nursing, so I didn't have to worry about food for the baby. The Baby Centers were great. We statyed on the monorail, so it was easy to get around with baby napping in the stroller (I recommend a fully reclining stroller so baby can be comfortable, as well as a sling). If I'd had more control over our travel dates I would have waited until she was 4-6 months old and sleeping through the night -- I was nursing 1-2 times per night while at Disney, which made for a tired Mommy.

I would do it again!

I would check out the temps for the times you're thinking of going. You don't want to go in the summer when it is so hot and you're wearing baby. It won't be a good time for either of you. And make sure you go before your DD2 turns 3 so both kids are still free. I think early next year would be good- FEB, March, or April. Just watch out for Easter and Spring break.

Thanks ladies. I completely forgot about the sleeping through the night thing as my DD was sleeping 10 hrs straight through the night when was a mere 4 wks old. I was so lucky.
We were thinking of anywhere between Feb to April or Oct next year when the humidity dissipates a little.
I think we will aim for spring.
