We are going to WDW for the 3rd time with our almost 4 year old. I am dreading holding her in lines etc. is there a child carrier I can use for her. Am I nuts for considering a carrier for an almost 4 year old?!

We went to some local parks this summer with our 4 yo, and she did well with waiting in line on her own - until she got tired... That being said, I always prefer to "wear" her if necessary than carry her. The Tula mentioned above is a great choice!

Oh! I just checked their website, and you can rent a carrier too.

I carried my 5 year old all over the Indianapolis airport in an Ergo a few months ago. (that wasn't the intention - I figured I'd be wearing the 2 year old. But she was adamant about walking, and he was tired and whiny. So it worked!)
We'll be bringing the Ergo on our trip in a few weeks too. Most of the time I assume our 2 year old will be in it, but I know it will still work for the 5 year old if needed.

Toddler Tula!!!!

Soooooo much more comfortable with an older kid than an Ergo. Plus you can resell the Tula for most of what you paid for it on the FB swap groups.

look into a toddler kinderpack. our b abywearing group here highly recommends kinderpack!

I second a kinderpack but they are nearly impossible to buy/find right now. Some are on eBay for $1,000. Try a toddler Tula if you cant get A kinderpack

Like them on FB and they post when they will stock

I'd go for the toddler Tula also.
I'm using a regular on my youngest and it's the best carrier I've ever had.
Great resale value too. :)

Definitely a kinderpack or a tula. The kinderpack craze should be dying down a bit as the weather cools and is my favorite with my 5 yo and 3 1/2 yo (both in the 45 lb range). However, it is easier to find a toddler tula right now, and if you look, there are usually a store or two offering discounts or gently used.

We're going to Disney for Halloween and will be wearing our (by then) 5 yo, 4 yo, and 22 month old. All in kinderpacks & tula. :rolleyes1

I prefer the Tula over the kinderpack to be honest after trying both on. I'm 5'1 and the kinderpack just did not fit my body correctly. But I do like the coolknit fabric on the kinderpack.

Plus I feel like you can get much simpler and plain patterns/colors with the Tulas while so many of the kinderpacks are just crazy looking.

I have a preschool sized kinderpack and it's awesome, mine is not coolnit (it's a bit older than that) but I can carry my almost 5-year-old 44 inch tall boy in it, I'm 5'4" myself :)

seeing the comment about ebay, maybe I should be selling mine ;)

I have a Boba and it works great for older kids. Last summer I hiked through a state park with my then-DD4 hitching a ride in it sometimes. I am considering bringing the Boba with me on next year's trip just in case she needs a break.

It's not crazy to bring a carrier for a big kid. My 5 year old likes to be in them more than my 2 year old! Go on facebook and search for a local babywearing group. Ideally, go to a meeting and try on a few carriers with your kid before your trip. Carriers are like a pair of jeans - what's a perfect fit for me might not be the best for you.

I'll be there in December with my Bloo Kangaroo preschool carrier :)
