Today (4/30) early morning magic report

Great report.

What the skeptics seem to ignore is that people are willing to pay for the experience of that "emptiness". We've all heard (and seen) that there is no slow time at WDW anymore. So that is what Disney is selling here. Not just a breakfast .. not just the ability to have no wait on three rides .. but the ability to be in the park when it is NOT crowded. To walk down Mainstreet and take it in .. to RUN around Fantasyland like your child.
What some of the supporters are discounting is that some of us have been going to WDW and Universal for many years, including many years of using the already existing peripheral hours, e-ride nights, and special MK 24hour events.

Disney doesn't refund your money if you feel sick, accidentally oversleep, miss the bus, etc.

I think I'd like this event much better if the exclusive PP/7D/Pooh/Pinocchio meal access was from 11:45am to 2pm.

I know what it is to be in a WDW theme park at 7:45am using WDW transportation!

I can tell you a great many trips have been disrupted by slow/missing buses, weather stopping the boats (last trip: fog and lightning), and unannounced monorail shutdowns/breakdowns (FAR too many to list!)

Was it worth it? watching my daughter run in an empty fantasyland and get to ride 7dmt over and over again - 100% yes. I was hesitant to do this even after the positive reviews from Tuesday but asked her opinion and we decided to go for it. I would totally do it again and it would be neat if they did these parties in each land with more rides open!

The evening version of this is almost the whole park and food is free ice cream and soft drinks/water. I was at that 4/21 after hours event and anyone with kids ran around like your describing your morning. Even anna and elsa is almost no wait for your daughter. I was going on rides I don't bother with because they are more kids focused but that was great too (link to my review on it below).

Also check out the 4/27 disunplugged webcast on youtube. they did their review of what is was like on the second half of the show (well maybe last 3rd of the show).

We couldn't stay up for the late night one (not just my 4 yo, but I also don't ever last past 10pm haha) so the early morning one just works for us. I get up at 5AM every day for work, so being in the park at 7:45 is a no brainer for me.

My DD still talks about running off of 7DMT only to turn around and get right back on. It was a morning we made some great memories - and for some this isn't for them which is fine! I don't think it can continue at the current number (lets say 25groups*3peopleaveragepergroup*69dollars = 5175. CM's working the event, chefs cooking, food, and running the rides = I don't think they made a penny on it. So it will get discontinued or they will have to sell more tickets. We may never do this again (esp if later reports discuss 100's of people and waits for rides) but it was truly a memory maker at least once.

Would I do it solo? No, the joy I received was from seeing my daughter so excited. Hands up on the ride for the first time because she was so comfortable riding. Getting to stay on peter pan and ride again without even getting off. Running around Fantasyland while it was utterly empty.

FYI Someone asked about Peter Pan - we entered via the Fastpass queue, but they may allow you to enter the regular queue if you want to? There was no one stopping us from doing that.

I am glad this post came up in my suggested posts as I almost missed it

Glad you got to experience it and that it was so much fun for your DD! That is great that you got on 7DMT so many times. Also very glad to hear you were happy with the food. I know we do (and others) a pre-park opening ADR partly to get that "empty" Main St. picture so this isn't that much more than one of those meal options.

This ^^^ is what scares me the most. Like another poster said... "Slippery slope".
I have NO doubt that there will be some sort of way to pay for extra fast passes in the future. Either in as a resort perk or simply a "premium" ticket price.

I have often speculated that Disney should just ditch EMH and give resort guests a 4th Fast Pass. While a lot like EMH, I would argue that MORE people would prefer a 4th Fast Pass (because they never want to go to the park super early or super late).

I wouldn't be surprised to see a "premium" ticket as well where you pay an extra $30-40 for 3 more Fast Passes.

Have to disagree. I would pay that for more FPs (if prescheduled) and if it's low enough this cheapskate would pay it, the price point is too low and they could not support it.

Makes a ton of sense and fits some of their pricing strategies of late, BUT haven't a lot of folks speculated (and new ability to book FP on your phone shown) that there aren't enough FPs to go around to do this?
Free FP has been a great giveaway to correct problems, but the volume needed to give to all resort guests or available to pay is pretty huge. How long would that be workable if the high-paying customer realizes they can't get what they consider a "good" fastpass, OR if they got them first, how long before all other onsite guests decide the scraps they are left with aren't valuable and go offsite?

Oh agree .. my sample price point is probably way too low, but essentially those interested in this breakfast are paying about that premium price (once you factor in the breakfast cost) for 3 "unlimited use during a limited time" fast passes for 7D, Pooh and Peter Pan.
