Do you like yours, is there any special about it? Have you checked prices on toasters lately?

Wow, I don't know how old our toaster is. It's basic white, does not look too outdated but one of the four slots is putting burn marks on items. I went to price them out as a possible gift suggestion, expecting $25-30 for a decent replacement and came across $300+ models! They don't appear to do anything significantly more amazing than toasting things so I'm wondering what makes them worth that. I even question $60+ models since we only use ours for eggos, toasted bread, or the occasional bagel.


Just curious about what you have, what you use it for and if anyone has the pricey model and how is it worth the cost? Genuinely curious, I have not shopped for a toaster in several years!

I have a toaster oven. I really like it. It was bought at Macy's. it is frequently in the sales flyer for $19.99. It is chrome black and made by black n decker. After I had it 6 months I bought a second one for my mom. She loves it too

I've had the cheap ($15/20) models. Several. I eventually got a like $60-70 one. You get what you pay for, honestly.

The cheap ones used to last a couple of years before one side of one slot wouldn't toast much or etc., etc. This one has been going fine like 5 years. The difference was immediately apparent too - it toasted somewhat faster (can't change the laws of science but the heating elements were more intense), more evenly, the dial (how light/dark) was more specific and actually did something, heh, stuff like 'defrost' actually does something different than just regular pushing the lever down, etc.

It also is just much heavier, more sturdy, better made; the grates widen more smoothly if you put something thicker in, etc..

I've looked at the even more expensive ones; I think they just have more options, more precision, etc.

I have one I don't like and want to replace. I also have a toaster oven that makes toast I don't like. I guess I am just picky about toast. I want toast like I get when we eat out. When I make it at home, its kind of not done, but the outside is dark. I have wondered if I bought a more expensive one I would like it better.
