I just had a look at at the French site which has 35% off and kids under 12 free for our dates in March.
We are currently booked into the Cheyenne which I must admit I hated back in 2011 but we said we would give it another shot and at €320 it was very cheap so we booked through dlpdirect paying a small deposit.
To upgrade to SL would cost us €240ish or NPB would be €330.
What to do?
I am itching to see what the new rooms at NPB are like and my big sister is now joining us so I think the extra room and proximity to the park is a big plus and she stayed at the Cheyenne on her last visit back in 1997 so I think it might be nice to try somewhere else.
I would lose the deposit but that wouldnt bother me terribly and I do have the extra to cover it.
Would you upgrade?
Which would you upgrade to if you were going to?

We've been looking at the NPB for June next year but have been put off by the ongoing refurbishments and not knowing what state we will find the hotel in. Also we couldn't afford a room on the Admirals Floor and so were worried we would end up with a room miles away from reception.

I would like to hear people's opinions too as we are also looking at March via the French site staying a Cheyenne (great price!) but not sure wether to upgrade to SL or NPB for £170. I like the idea of bunk beds for our kids as they will not share a bed, but the thought of having to go outside for breakfast every morning is not too appealing but the £170 is our petrol costs there and back.
We've usually stayed at HnY but the cost is just too much this time, especially as this is just a cheap getaway before we go back to WdW in 2016.
I'm swaying to stay at Cheyenne but need a little help from The pro's.
Thanks x

We've booked to stay at SL in March on French site but hoping to upgrade to HNY or DLH if a flash sale appears in January. So you might be worth holding fire.

I personally would't want to stay at NPB as it feel it gets too crowded.

We LOVED the NPB, much preferred it to the HNY, didn't feel too crowded at all, and we loved the theming but we went in summer, I think in Spring I would go for SL.

I paid an extra £170 in the recent Belgian flash sale for 3 nights at the HNY over the Santa Fe price, and was more than happy to pay it, because the HNY price was still cheaper than I paid for 3 nights at the Santa Fe in April this year :goodvibes.

I honestly don't get the NPB, so I wouldn't choose there.

We've always stayed at the DLH and love it, however, when SL introduced the GF it really made me want to try it there in Autumn/Winter as I think it's the perfect hotel for that time of year.

Would the GF be out of your price range with the new offer? I am unsure how much value it is once the character breakfasts stop, but as I understand it, you still get 'private' breakfast in the GF lounge and it becomes a hot breakfast which would be nice in March!

So, SL would be my choice - main building room, GF even better :thumbsup2.

when in March are you going kizzabel? Is it UK holiday time, or before that? If its before, you might get a 50% off flash sale - there was one in February this year for Feb/March dates (outside of school holiday dates).

We loved the npb preferred it to the seqouia. Never found it overcrowded. Would luv to stay there again after the refurb. We are going back early jan but will stay at either the seqouia or ny this time as want tobe as close to park as possible.

I must've just gone in at bad times then. Was barely able to move in the lobby/shop.

Also booked it in the past but was told the breakfasts were mayhem. Has this been sorted? Might put it back in the running now the rooms are new.

I would update to SL. I have stayed at both Cheyenne and Santa Fe and I must admit that I prefer to pay a little extra for a better hotel. Beside the theming of SL will fit perfectly for spring.

Hmmm thats something to think on, I know the restaurants have reopened and I dont think renovations would put us off if there was a good chance of getting a new room, it didn't in 2011 at the Sequoia and we had a beautiful room. Admirals floor is a definite no for us as NPB standard is at the high end of my budget. We were lucky in 2010, our room in the NPB was right by reception.

I wasn't thrilled with the Cheyenne on our last trip but it is some where to rest your head and so long as the room is clean then you are on to a winner :thumbsup2

It wasnt crowded when we stayed in May 2010 but I believe we were in luck! I love the whole nautical theme but then again SL is fresh now its been renovated and it is a smidge closer for walking to the park.

We LOVED the NPB, much preferred it to the HNY, didn't feel too crowded at all, and we loved the theming but we went in summer, I think in Spring I would go for SL.

I think it will come down to the theming but the chance of a new NPB room is swaying me big time! I am dying to get a look at them!

That was some bargain Elaine :cool1:NPB is a similar price to what we paid for SL in 2011.

Im going to price up SLGF now :thumbsup2 The afternoon tea would be a big plus too I think.

March 16th to 20th onsite with a night at the Kyriad beforehand. I cannot hang on too long to book as flights are booked and I really needed an under 12s offer. Any idea what dates Expedia release? That may be worth a look as the Santa Fe would be ideal either. We loved it last October.

My exact thoughts ::yes::

Ah this I also cannot comment on as we had GMFLB for the length of our stay at the NPB!

I would happily go for the SF over the Cheyenne, no question but ideally Expedia would do the sale of the century again this year and it would make the SF cheaper then disneylandparis.fr has it at the moment.

I am off to debate it with the kiddies! Thanks for everyones help :flower3: I really appreciate all of your insight.

Ooooops
Newport Bay here we come :cool1:

Yay! :cool1::cool1:

I did really love it there. Staff were amazing, it wasn't too crowded, breakfast wasn't manic. It is a big hotel and there are alot of people but it was a nice hustle and bustle.

Great upgrade!

:rotfl2: It was all done and dusted before I had a chance to add my tuppence worth lol :rotfl2: You are hilarious :rotfl:

Your sister will love it :thumbsup2

I'm actually thrilled :cool1: and my sister is booking flights tomorrow so its a done deal! Cannot wait to show her every new addition since her last visit 18 years ago! And she loves things a bit swish so she never would have lasted at the Cheyenne!

Lol Jo, nothing like me for snap decisions! Wait for the onslaught of procrastinating threads that I'll start in the next 5 months because I'm having a meltdown over what time to eat or where to stand to watch Dreams...! I jump into big decisions and need someone to tell me what to do for the insignificant things!

Oh this sounds great Kizzy have you done it yet ?
I love the look of the new rooms :)
Your sister going to love it xx

Yet again I'm echoing everything RoseBug said. We'd stayed at the DLH the previous trip so I was expecting it to be a bit of a comedown ;) well, we all loved it, it didn't disappoint at all.
