I have current reservations to stay at the CBR from May 14th-20th. I have been reading and have cause for concern. Seeing is this will be my first time staying on Disney property I am having seconds thoughts on staying at the CBR. I know there is construction on the main pool until Sept. I have read really good reviews on CSR. Should I go ahead and make the switch to CSR? Or am I looking to far into it. I just dont want the construction at our resort to be a let down for me and my girlfriend. We want to be able to go the pool while we are there but isnt possible. Can anyone offer any advice? Should I consider any of the other Moderate resorts? Please help...

Due to the pool issue, I would switch to CSR if you can and plan on swimming! CSR is awesome!!!

We loved CBR. DH prefers it over CSR and I like them about the same. I would only switch if you are planning on spending time at the pool. There are other pools at CBR besides the main one.

Depends on how imprtant swimming is to you and your family.

Its important to us, that why we stay at the Beach Club every year.

If you plan on relaxing by the pool a day or 2, or even for some breaks, then definetly switch. If it doesn't matter, I wouldn't worry about it.

We haven't stayed at either, but I vote to switch. Avoid construction if you can. We were at ASMO when they were redoing the pool and I didn't enjoy the mess.

I love CBR. It is a beautiful tropical resort. Keep in mind, that the main pool is not the only pool at this resort. Each village has their own quiet pool. We really liked having that option a few steps from our room. Sometimes there was no one there but us. The white sandy beaches with the hammocks are wonderful. POR is my second fav. DH and I stayed there without kids and we thought it had more of a romantic feel to it. I understand POFQ being smaller feels even more so, although I have not stayed there. I believe they have carriage rides and Downtown Disney is only a boat ride away. CSR was not my cup of tea.

Here is a link to the CBR thread. It should give you all the info you need.

Wherever you pick, I am sure you will have a wonderful time.

why did you pick CBR in the first place.

for the beaches - then stay.

there are several other pools here. they are only closing the main pool with the slide - the other pools are open.

they are putting a slide in 2 of the quiet (other) pools.

you can still see Epcot fireworks from here. (the only moderate with a clear view - PO can see some of them - but not nearly the ones CBR can see)

that say - you might be able to see Wishes fireworks from PO.

If you were planning on hanging at the pool alot, using the slide, or the pool bar, then chance. If you just want to be able to swim, then don't change. CBR is pretty and if the theme appeals(ed) to you then its a great place to stay.

If you are going to switch I would recommend either POR or POFQ. Despite what appears to be popular opinion my family won't stay at CSR. You never know whether a BIG convention group is coming in or not and the times we've visited for meals the conventioneers can make a BIG difference. Once we literally couldn't find in inch of space to sit down or really even walk (other than narrow pathways) due to the amount of people sitting around with their luggage. It was a nightmare.

I guess it depends on if you are "pool people". I really liked CBR, way better than POR or POFQ. We are trying CSR this time just for something different.

The CSR is terrific. In the six years we have stayed there (seventh coming up in September for our 25th anniversary--and I had a choice of Polynesian or CSR--and I took CSR), we have never had an issue with convention people. We see them, perhaps in the morning as we are going to get our coffee and they are on their way to their meetings. They are always very pleasant, etc. The Pepper Market might be a little more crowded at the lunch hour, but we are usually in the parks until 1:00 and then at the pool by 2:00 so they have never interfered with us. I feel bad for them actually...they are walking to meetings in their "business casual" and we're walking around in our shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops.

We have always had excellent service; the pool is great; the spa/fitness center are a welcome item and we love the quiet pools as well. My DH and I love sitting outside after it has become dark looking over the beautiful landscaping with the lights reflecting off the lake.

So how are the views at CSR compared to CBR? Another big thing for me and my GF are the views from the room. If I do change to CSR I am thinking of a water view room. Any input on this subject? :confused3

I don't have any from CBR that I took from our room, but here are a couple from the beach which was steps away from our room:

Definitely CSR!! It's a terrific resort with lots to offer. Elevators in every building (CBR doesn't have any), a fitness center I like to use (its free to guests) and a spa my DW likes to use for massages. The food is great too, big portions that can be shared!
