To Stop Us From Hijacking The Other Thread...

Very true. I think some of it might be metaphoric, but either way it sounds kinda scary.

Practically all of the Bible is metaphoric, thats why people have been deciphering it for ages and ages and trying to figure out what some phrases/texts mean.

I think Revelation-- or Revelacion [spanish]-- is really good. I tell the sister that comes over the house to study with me and she says it is very interesting but they are other stories too that are powerful.

And its not what God had in store, its what he has store for us. [if you dont believe in this, then no offense] ;)

I believe that it's what will happen, it's just scary to think about. I hope that I'm dead before it happens. ;)

I'd love to get my hands on a copy of the bible, pre king james translation. Supposedly there are a lot of discrepancies that King James messed up translating. (red sea v. reed sea) I think it would be interesting to see the change from pre-translation to translation.

Well my grandma forced the Christian religion upon my mom and her sisters so much that it kind of made them not want to be that religion so most of my family is spiritual except my grandparents.

What do you believe? God and Reincarnation

Why? Brought up that way and just think it makes sense

Have you ever thought about changing your faith? Did, but then changed my mind

Have you ever changed your faith? Somewhat, my beliefs arent the same as my exact fait.

What is your opinion on other religions? I think their all connected

Would you marry someone of a different religion? Yes

A lot of the bible is like a war novel. If you can get past Deuteronomy which is a real bore the bible becomes like a novel of the Jew's life. It is really interesting if you can understand what they are saying. Sometimes it can get really graphic when talking about battles.

Actually, you know what I'd like?
For someone to explain the difference between Jewish people & Christian people. I mean, they both believe in God.. dno't they? I heard somewhere that Jewish people do not believe in Jesus.
But I don't know. Anybody care to explain?

The Jewish do not believe Jesus was/is their savior.

The jewish believed that they were supreme in god's eyes. They were special compared to other religions. Jesus taught everyone was equal in the eyes of god, the jewish didn't believe that.

The jewish executed Jesus.

Jews do not believe that Jesus was God's son or that he saved us from our sins. So all Christians have to do is believe that Jesus died for us and we are saved but I don't know what Jews have to do. Jesus was Jewish. What is really confusing is the difference between prodestent (sp) denominations (most of it is how they make decisions within the church and when you get baptized)

im lutheran, and i've never thought of changing my faith, what do i think about other religions i think people can believe in whatever they want to.

Ah.
I should be Jewish then.
I kind of believe that.
I'm Protestant, though I really don't know the difference between that and the other forms of Christianity.

Are you
Anabaptist
Anglican / Episcopal
Baptist
Evangelicalism
Lutheran
Methodist / Wesleyan and the Holiness movement
Pentecostal and Charismatic
Quakerism
Reformed/Congregational /Presbyterian
Restoration movement
Seventh-Day Adventists
Non-denominational?
The difference between those is a fine line.

Thank you, Shelby.

I'll elaborate: Up until the birth of Jesus, the Jews were God's chosen people. When Jesus started preaching that everyone was able to be forgiven and that they were all equal in God's eyes, the Jews were not happy. They forced King Herod to free Barabus (a criminal) and have Jesus be on the cross instead. To this day the Jews do not acknowledge Jesus as the son of God.

Protestant is things like Baptist, Methodist, and Pentecostal.

There are differences in them. Pentecosts, for example, speak in "tongues" that they call messages from God.

Thanks for explaining this to me.
My mother refused to me, because she figured she'd have to whip out her bible and give me an hour long speech.
Anyways, I don't really believe in Jesus.. so.. meh.

I'm not sure, really I'm not.
When I was little, we used to go to church everyday. Now, I remember very little of it, because I was like three. Now, all I could focus on was God is good, God is great. And all of a sudden, they started saying Jesus is the best, bla de blah. And I was like 'WHAT THE HECK?!' I just got confused.
I never really, well believed in it. I do not believe he was my saviour. I do not believe he died for me.
