To Stop Us From Hijacking The Other Thread...

I agree...

People that are like, extremely hardcore about their religion get on my nerves. I mean, it's wonderful that you love your religion, but you don't need to be fully decked out in 'WWJD' garb to go to school or the grocery store. No offense.
Nobody does that, unless they are that obsessed "Oh Em Gee, you are going to hell because you read Harry Potter adn DaVinci Code!"

I'm thankful that nobody at my school isn't psycho like that. They would only exclaim I read Da Vinci Code in the time it took them to read a small chapter book. -_-

What do you believe? I am a Christian. I am Baptist. I believe that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and who ever believes in him shall not die but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Why? My whole family is Christian/Baptist.

Have you ever thought about changing your faith? No, never. And I never will.

Have you ever changed your faith? No...

What is your opinion on other religions? People are free to practice whichever religion they wish, but only those who admit to God they are a sinner, believe that Jesus is God's one and only son, and confess their faith in Jesus and trust him as their Savior and Lord will go on to live forever in Heaven.

Would you marry someone of a different religion? No. I will only marry a person who believes in Jesus Christ. I will only date Christian men, with Jake being an example. I feel that two people can't truely unconditionally love each other if they don't believe in the same God.

Thanks baby. ::yes:: I agree with everything Angela has said. Exept I will only date Christian girls. :)

I'm Methodist (which is Christian, protestant)

I agree with most of it. They say only if you believe in and trust god you will go to heaven. I believe that anyone can go to heaven.
Have you ever thought about changing your faith?
no
Have you ever changed your faith
no
What is your opinion on other religions?
i think its great that people can have different religions and still get along- I had a Jewish best friend in 1st grade (then I moved)
Would you marry someone of a different religion?
definitely

What do you believe?
I have a deep respect for everyone and everything. I don't believe in a higher being. I don't believe that we are just waiting for eternal salvation. I believe we have eternal salvation right now, and what we do with it is our choice. You've got the world at your fingertips, now what will you do with it? I believe life is what you make it. I don't believe in god.

Why?

I didn't like the idea. I don't like thinking that someone KNOWS what will happen to me. And the ideas always confused me anyway. They never made sense. He knows everything that will ever happen, but we have free will? How does that work? (this is rhetorical.) I've never felt the need to have faith in an everlasting life to keep me going right now.

Have you ever thought about changing your faith?

I was raised by a Christian family that never went to church. My family hates the idea of the church. I realized I was "supposed" to believe in the god they believed in, but I didn't. I don't like the idea of believing in something just because you were raised to believe it. "Never believe anything anyone says, even if I say it, unless you've thought about it and it clicks with your own beliefs and your own common sense"-Sid Hadartha.

Have you ever changed your faith?
I went from "Christian" to Agnostic while I was questioning to Atheistic, now.

What is your opinion on other religions?

I find them interesting. I'm fascinated by religion. How can you not be? To see something so moving that people dedicate their whole lives to it. To believe in something so much that it consumes yourself. It doesn't matter if its real or not, to see something work that power over people, its fascinating.

I've been discriminated against because I don't go to church. I'll never do that to someone. I don't care what you believe. I don't. But give me the same respect I'm giving you.

Would you marry someone of a different religion?

of course. Love knows no bounds with me. My boyfriend is Christian. He believes in god, but not the church. Thats fine with me. And if he did believe in the church, I respect him enough as a person that I would go to his church with him. I don't see that as me being hypocritical. I wouldn't believe what they were saying. I'd be there for him, out of my respect to him.

As long as you live in a small town in the South this will probably be the case. It is so sad.
Reminds me of school...

I'll explain...I go to a small school with only 300 people (not counting teachers). If someone finds out another person's business, the person will then tell the local big mouth, and in three hours the entire school will know.

Let me tell you about the time there was an aetheist. This was back in Junior High, one day a new kid came from St.Louis. (On a kid's first day we all try to find out his entire life story.) My friend got to talking to him and he said that he was an aethiest. On noez! We couldn't have that in our perfect school! Somehow the big mouth found out and of course in three hours the entire school knew. Everybody was pestering him and trying to force him into Christianity. That is NOT how it should be done.

So, that goes to show why small towns are prime targets for ruining one's life on their first day.

Here's something funny for you:

I go to a Catholic school, all the faculty is Catholic (I believe, don't hit me if I'm wrong!). Almost ALL of them have read the Da Vinci Code and most of those who read it LOVED it. I just found that hysterically funny :lmao:

I would NEVER attack someone's religion, but I've had people do that to me before. I usually bring up some of the more...far fetched aspects of Christianity, such as a virgin birth, the ark, the flood, and all that stuff. I usually end up making them question their religion more than they're questioning mine.

I understand that some of the things in the bible are pretty far-fetched. I'm not going to argue about it, though, I'm just going to believe that God did it, and there we have it. :teeth:

My friend believes that the bible was written by some guy who decided it would be fun to get people to worship and imaginary god.
That's not what I believe, I know that it was written by like prophets or something like that.
I just don't see it though. I just don't see how it works in with the scientific facts. Scientists have done tons of research. The Bible, is just words on paper.

My religion?

I study with the Jehovah's Witness. I bolded study because I'm not baptized by them, therefore I'm not really one of them.

I don't think I will ever change my religion because I enjoy studying with them and I want to be baptized, but I dont think that will be for a couple of years because it's hard letting go to the things your used to doing. Example: birthdays, christmas, new years, etc.

I think you should respect other peoples religions because thats what they think and how they've been raised up. I mean religion is practically your way of living and thinking.

I admire your dedication to your faith.

I believe everything in the bible is true and is going to happen.

So I admire Brain's faith too. :goodvibes

Want to read something far-fetched? Read the book of Revelation. That book, is like a movie, it's got dragons, sea monsters and doom. Makes me wonder what God had in store when John wrote it...

Very true. I think some of it might be metaphoric, but either way it sounds kinda scary.

I think Revelation-- or Revelacion [spanish]-- is really good. I tell the sister that comes over the house to study with me and she says it is very interesting but they are other stories too that are powerful.

And its not what God had in store, its what he has store for us. [if you dont believe in this, then no offense] ;)
