to Round 3...And Beyond! Moms Panel Hopefuls and Friends

Is that adult sized?!?!?!

I need to replace my footies and that would be perfect!!

I have a Target right next door to my office. I could walk over there at lunch.

I'm always worried that all of these extra things are too much for my DD6, but she seems to love it!

I feel the same way sometimes. My DD13 plays school volleyball, school basketball and rec softball. She is also in several school clubs: Spirit Club, Make a Difference Day and Newsies (she is an anchor for the school TV channel). To top all this off she is on a travel volleyball team started last weekend and goes through June.

I only have two critieria for maintaining (and adding to) this schedule: (1) Grades MUST be maintained and (2) I ask her before every 'season' starts if it's really something she wants to do.

I refuse to be one of those team mom's who push their kids into competition. I see way too many talented kids burning out before they even get to high school.

Yep!! In the women's lingerie dept! :)

Quick question for those who are in the World right now:

You know how Disney often does the "Buy $X of merchandise, and you can get a duffel/blanket/whatever for $Y"? Last trip, DW picked up a blanket with the castle on it, which DD keep trying to steal. What is the current promo item?

Aaaah! You are killing me! I n-e-e-d them!

I do actually have to run over there because my DD3 asked to have her toes painted pink for our trip and I need to get a good pink color for her.

Hi friends!

If you have a moment while we're OH SO PATIENTLY waiting to hear news...could you do me a favor?

I entered a contest on FB in which I can win running gear / shoes - and with >100 miles logged a month, I need to replace shoes pretty often. Could you vote and help?

VOTE HERE

I reallllly appreciate it! I have been in the lead for a few weeks and have suddenly dropped to 2nd! The contest ends tomorrow.

Thank you so much!!!:goodvibes

Your mileage is amazing - congratulations!! I manage only about 25-30 miles on a good week! My favourite shoes are Mizunos. Was a life-long Nike fan until last year when a local coach changed my life by insisting I try out Mizuno Wave Riders. Heaven!

I tried to vote, but the link didn't work. :worried: Will try again! In the meantime, hope to see you at the Tinkerbell in January (if not before at a certain gathering in December!!! pixiedust:)

Happy running!

Good morning all!

Like everyone else, I am also going crazy. Tomorrow bumps it up to a whole new level of waiting insanity!! In 2010 the emails came on October 26th but last year it wasn't until November 3rd that we heard late at night. I'm hoping that since the numbers are a little less than last year maybe we will hear sooner rather than later. I still stick with next Wednesday as my guess, but I definitely hope for sooner than that!!!

It's SO interesting that we have some actual dance moms in the waiting room!! That made me think of another question... If you have children, are they in any activities? If so, what are they involved in?

My DD6 takes 2 gymnastics classes per week, plus an hour of tap, an hour of ballet and piano lessons. My DS3 only takes one gymnastics class at the moment. Once he gets a little older I'd like for him to also take some kind of music lesson, but I'm not sure what yet. I'm always worried that all of these extra things are too much for my DD6, but she seems to love it! She's also constantly asking me to add even more... Last week she wanted to take Voice and Drama and now she's asking for Cooking Lessons. What?! I told her we are not adding one more thing to her schedule but if she wants to change to something else later on she can. My rule is: once they sign up for something, they have to stick with it until the end of the year. Who knows.. maybe next year she'll be taking horseback riding and archery. Her tastes seem to change like the wind!

Not only am is dance mom but dance mom to a son- and yes I can rhinestone with the best of them!

Thanks for trying, Laura! I wonder why the URL was all scrambled. I guess it's blocked!!!

My DS12 dances too!

My DD10 has been dancing since she was 2 years old, and this is her 4th year competing. And all of this has been done at her insistance. Believe me-- we could take an extra week vacation at WDW for the amount we pay to dance each year! This year she's competing in group jazz, tap and contemporary-- in addition to a jazz solo (her first one!). She also takes tumbling, hip hop and of course, ballet. She dances at least 12 hours a week and wouldn't have it any other way. My biggest regret is that with her competition season-- it knocks out four prime months of time to visit the World!

Three years ago, our dance studio brought in an incredible guy hip hop choreographer/performer, and my son started. He eventually gave up all-star level lacrosse and baseball to do just dance. This year, he's added tap and street jazz to his hip hop. He competes too. But at least I have them both doing the same thing on those weekends!

My son has also taken up acting. He has been in a couple of commercials, two tv episodes, as an extra in the upcoming Billy Crystal movie, and he's done 3 graduate level movies at the NC School of Performing Arts/Film Making. His agent has been keeping him (us) pretty busy with auditions and acting classes, so that adds to his load.

They both are excellent students-- which is a requirement for them to do anything extracurricular. They both love what they do, so they make it work!

I'm seriously useless to my hubby, kids, parents, neighbors & friends right now----If you want, meals, laundry, groceries & help of any kind, give me about a week or so---then if I make Round 3, put it on HOLD for a while---Because I'll be living it up! Woot Woot!!

Here's my little USELESS rap:

I act like a lazy bones
even though I'm at home,
useless when it comes to dishes
If only I had some Disney wishes
I'd stop picking up doggy poo poo
or doing the laundry from 1 till 2

No more grocery shopping or
helping thy neighbor
cell's going dead & I need to check
Disboards, Facebook & Twitter

My hubby fears, chores
are a thing of the past
I'd rather send a tweet
to a new Disney peep, than mow the grass
don't worry, I told him, Get off your as-

Team Soft Serve, Team Pineapple
really doesn't matter,
we're in this together
& bonded forever

Disney's Moms Panel Search
sure has been fun,
It would be even better, IF I WON! pixiedust:

I'm useless..lately

Love it! I hope this was one of your essay answers! :rotfl:

You must not have applied as a WDW Specialist :)

One of the multiple choice questions for Round one was what is the special ingredient in Dole Whip? Two of the options were pineapple and Soft Serve Ice Cream. There was quite the debate as to which was the right answer. Most of the folks that made it to Round 2 chose pineapple but some that chose soft serve also made it.

I guess there is no right answer! :rotfl2:

No, I did... And chose Pineapple. :) I went blank about it until you reminded me! I focused more on R2 questions and forgot R1!

Good morning everyone! I'm hoping we hear some news today or tomorrow! Now that everyone (including myself) has analyzed, overanalyzed, then re-analyzed the already overanalyzed announcement timing theories, it seems about right that by Friday the Round 3 notices should be out!

A little more pixie dust wouldn't hurt would it? So here you go!
pixiedust:
That should do it!
Happy Thursday my waiting room pals!

What ever do you mean? I haven't been doing any :teacher: or :worship:ing the princess: or :surfweb: all day... I am innocent! :rolleyes1

I thought I was doing good this year, but apparently I was answering interview questions in my sleep last night. DH threatened to sleep on the couch if I can't keep the talking to a minimum tonight. I think he was slightly offended because all I said was, "how did I do?" I think he might be stopping to purchase a straight jacket after work.

Huh....I can top that! :thumbsup2 I have already created a word document :surfweb: with all the possible questions I can think of, and all the answers I would give..and I keep :mic: practicing it. :lmao:

I'm like you Amy. I have done the same thing. I even went back through EVERY Disney Mom Panel thread to get ideas for questions. I know, I'm a hopeless case.

I did distract myself for a little bit this morning by getting my DD one of her XMas presents: JUSTIN BIEBER TICKETS!!!!!

I'll be back later after I sign the second mortgage on my house. :sad2:

I think it's safe to say that we are all going to be certifiable before they send those emails! Oh dear Larry, can you imagine all the extra nervous energy for those that make it to the panel and have to wait a month to take that trip!? I'm certain I would be bringing my DH to crazyville with me at that point, unless he finds the straight jackets-r-us store on his way home today. Even then I don't think that would calm me!! Sending out lots of pixie dust to everyone so patiently waiting. Lol

I am so happy I don't have girls, I don't think I could survive Justin Bieber :crazy2:

Well, just the few days that the Round 3 people will wait for their phone interviews will drive us batty! :crazy2:

And then...waiting a month to leave for training, might as well put everyone in straight jackets! :rotfl:

If I get to be that lucky, I will make a count down chain for sure! :rolleyes1

Thankfully my hubby understands my obsession; he is just as excited as I am! :thumbsup2
