To grocery order or not?

We are staying in 2 studios for 4 nights. We are getting the deluxe dining plan but we are soda addicts and I was planning to order some sodas and water to have in the room for first thing in the morning and waters to have in the parks. Garden Grocer has a $40 minimum, then a $12 delivery fee, then a tip. I'm wondering if it would be better to buy a few bottles of soda at the resort instead. DH is also a diet pepsi drinker, but can drink diet coke if he has too. Thanks for your advice.

If you're staying at the BWV, the Hess Station may have what you need. I had a car rented for the day to get some groceries, it was less than what you're saying GG is. In the end, my DF and I decided we didn't need anything extra so I cancelled the car.

Grocery items at the resorts are expensive, but, with the total cost for delivery in your case, you might be better off just buying where you are staying (or at Hess if you're at BW). One of the things I thought of was not being able to schlep home what's left over if you happen to order too much. If you buy the items at the resort as you need them (or the evening before), it might be a little less convenient but also potentially less wasted.

To be honest you are only going to be there 4 days and you do have the dexluxe plan. You can get soda's with your resort mugs, and to purchase in hotels is not going to run you all that much. When you put in the delivery and 40.00 purchase you have to make I think you will come out the same if not better. After all it's not going to be 90 and humid, so I don't think you will need as much in the parks. You also have 3 snack credits each that you can use to purchase water and soda.

We have used wegoshop.com and they did not have a minimum order like Garden Grocer does. They also do not mark up each item, but rather charge you exactly the cost of the item at the store. Their delivery fee is, however, higher($17, I think). We have been very satisfied with them.
As others have said, though on the Deluxe Plan you will not want much extra, and you have your resort mugs for unlimited soda refills.
Although I order from wegoshop every trip, in your circumstances on this trip, I do not think I would.
Have a Great Time

I would just rely on the mugs for soda, and buy water as I needed it.

My DDIL brings her Brita H2O pitcher. They buy bottle water for everyone once then wash the bottles and refill them from her pitcher. Sort of like refillable mug for water. They also freeze the bottles and have cold water much longer.

I don't think cold water is going to be an issue this trip. Low of 24 Monday night :scared1:

I think if you were staying for a longer period of time, it would be cost effective to go through Garden Grocer. But I think that's a better idea if you want to purchase a large amount of food (drinks, snacks, supplies, etc) whereas if you only need a few supplements, it would make more sense to shop closer by.

:cutie:

Us too! But ours is at 5 so hopefully not quite as cold yet, but I don't know if we will be sticking around for illuminations.

Good for you! We booked the last show...it will feel like Christmas!:santa:

I had a few items (very few) delivered from GG when we were on the basic dining plan 2 years ago. Even the basic one was so much food for us - plus you can use snack credits for sodas, and get sodas with meals, so we ended up leaving some items and packing a few to take home. It was a waste - so on the deluxe plan, I think you won't need to order anything.

I am a HUGE soda drinker as well. I also prefer Diet Pepsi but drink Diet Coke when in Disney.

Between the refillable mug and the snack credits you get with the Deluxe DP, I think your DH should be well more than covered. I am also not a big snack/junk food eater, so I end up using most of my snack credits on sodas.

Although Garden Grocer and Wegoshop are good for a little "extra" coverage if you think you might need it. In this case, Wegoshop might be better if all you want to order is soda and water.

I would say just walk over to the little store and get the few items you want. You will not need very much with the dinning plan!

We always rent a car and stop to get soda and water at the beginning of our trip. However, we always seem to have most of it left over at the end and wind up giving it to housekeeping or the car rental return agent since we can't bring it on the plane.
