daughter and I are going for one day. only time we have. she is a big HP fan but wants to do other attractions. we have the 2 park tix. we are going end of january in which touring plans says will be a 3 as far as crowds are concerned. would it be worth it to get an EP or do you think crowds would be low enough to get a lot done. parks close at 7

Don't buy an EP in advance. Go and if you really are feeling rushed, you can buy them all over the place in the parks.

We went last year to Universal for 2 days. However, we stayed overnight at RPR to get the "free" EP's. This was mid February, a "slow" time for Universal. But we were glad we got them as they helped with the long lines at the Minions and other popular attractions. I believe that HP rides now are covered under the EP, so that will be a big help.
We also went for one day 2 years ago and bought the EP's and we were glad we did, as stated above. It's true some of the attractions are a walk on, but when they are not, the EP's are great. I guess it's a personal preference. We will not go without EP's no matter when we go.

When possible use the single rider line... especially at rides like Transformers, Spiderman, Hulk, etc. The probability of riding the same car is high, just not one next to another but it will save you a lot of time, and is not like you need to talk to each other on the middle of a trill ride :confused3

Single rider lines are great

I stay onsite at rpr and get the free ep

Going solo to the parks in use the SRL many times
There have been many times I got on a ride quicker than using the ep line
