To EMH or not EMH?

Regarding crowds, I have heard that it is best to go to the park which has the morning EMH that day. I have also heard that it is best to visit a park the day after an EMH day.

For example, if MK has their EMH morning on a Tuesday. Should we go to MK on Tuesday or Weds? Or does it not really make a difference at all? What is your experience?

Also, are the EMH days set in stone or do they fluctuate throughout the year?

Thanks!!
Jody

Our first few trips we did EMH, especially the morning ones.

But I have teenagers, and they weren't always thrilled to get up so very early on vacation. So it was time for a change of approach.

We now go to the park that had the EMH the day before. We find them to be less crowded than the EMH parks, and can get as much done as we did before... but with kids who are less unhappy about that wakeup call.

We attend EMH every chance we can. They're incredibly productive if you're eligible to attend & are present to make full use of them. You might want to use hoppers to spend the rest of the day at a different park, but even without hoppers, we like to use EMH. Combined with FP, we get so much done using EMH.

If you're not really going to arrive early enough/stay late enough to use them, then avoid that park for the day.

EMH tend to follow a pattern, but they do change sometimes.

I think the "visit a park the day AFTER EMH" tip refers more to the park that had LATE EMH, not early. The theory is that those who stayed for the late EMH won't go to that park again the next morning, so at least that many people will be elsewhere.

In our experience, it has worked fairly well for the AM EMH as well. I guess most people tend not to do the same park 2 days in a row?

I like EMH. I am good with morning ones, you can ride alot with little to no wait if you are there right at opening in the morning.
I especially love when MK has EMH late until 2am.

Is EMH information posted somewhere? I can't seem to find what I am looking for.

We always go to the early EMH park....you can get a lot done. But, as a young family we are up early anyway. Then we park hop at lunch. Has worked for us on our previous five trips. May change as kids get older....and someday finally sleep in!

I've heard that if you are able to be up early enough that early EMH are worth it because many people aren't willing to arrive that early so you can get a lot done. I've heard that late EMH are more crowded because people are more likely to stay late than to get up and be at the park by 8am. I've never personally done either. I also agree with the if a park had late EMH the day prior, do that park the next day as it will be less crowded.

We are early risers so we follow the advice to go to AM EMH and hit up parks at RD the next day which had PM EMH. It always works pretty well for us and we definitely can knock out a good amount of things during AM EMH.

Going to RD in general is a good idea too.

We almost always try to go to the park with morning EMH. We get a lot done in that first hour and a half or so, then tour at a more relaxed pace the rest of the morning. We occasionally hit evening EMH, but it's not a huge priority.

If you plan for EMH you better hope everyone in your party is committed to EMH the day of and will be on the ball that morning, they only work if you use them and not if wasted because someone could not be dragged out of bed for a 8am or 7 am EMH and you end up in the park in mid morning when EMH, RD plus regular crowds have piled in. For this reason of uncertainty we generally avoid EMH park and RD another park.
