To book or wait?

Pretty sure I already know my answer, but I want to put it out there anyway.

I already have DVC booked for the last three nights of our trip, so we really aren't flexible with dates. I plan to book AoA Nemo room for the first part of the trip. Plans are to check in at AoA Jan 1 and switch to AKL on Jan 6.

Since my check in is on the 1st, there will likely be no discounts for my trip. Right? So no reason to wait on booking and I might as well do it next week when rates come out?

I really didn't think this through very well LOL But, I was trying to get the trip in around my daughter's college. So far, using the Target-Disney gift card trick I'm saving around 30% total so I'll just be happy with that.

You are right that Disney probably won't offer any discounts for the first part of your trip. That period is usually blacked out, although there might be some sort of a travel agency special discount for those days.

Discounts for the first part of 2016 will probably be released in early October if they stick to their usual pattern. That is a pretty long time to wait for a discount that probably won't come, so i would go ahead and book that AoA room as soon as you can. Nemo rooms are adorable and therefore get sold out fast. :)

Thanks! It's nice to have a little confirmation in my thinking. This trip seems to require so much more planning than my last trips, almost to the point of overwhelm.

Mousesavers.com has a page with historical discounts, the dates discounts were released and for what time period. So you can look up your dates and see if there was and discounts.
