We are booked in June from Logan airport to MCO, on what was Song and will be a Delta aircraft. We are seated in rows 5 and 6 on the way down, and rows 3 and 4 on the way back. I really wanted these seats, love being up front and have 2 window seats too.

So, knowing that they are reconfiguring the seats for first class up front, what will happen to us? Nothing? Or do you think it will all happen as soon as June? The Delta rep. has assured me that nothing will happen to our seat location, but I just have a funny feeling. What do you think, a little bump action when we get to the airport? And what do you think the chances will be that we'll actually get a Song turned into Delta plane? I want those tv's! lol.

It may depend on the model of the plane. Delta flies alot of MD-88's, which are 3 seats on one side and 2 on the other. The Song 757's have 3 and 3. So obviously if they switch it, the seating will change. Another change would be the regular Delta planes have first class, which will push coach people out of the front rows. Many Delta planes start at row 10 for coach, so your rows may no longer exist.

From what I've heard, the former Song planes are going to be moved to transcontinental flights.

I started out with similar seats to yours on my flight. I ended up with row 11 on one flight and row 13 on the return. At least I 'm not in the very rear. I don't like it back there. Bad experience with bathroom smells.

If I was you Id go and call them.
Our Aug flights/seats were already reassigned. When we were moved from Song to Delta our seat #s remained the same.

I'm not sure anyone is positive about how fast Delta is going to make the transition. I have seats booked from Tampa to Boston on May 21...they put us in row 6.....now, normally I would be thrilled but not now. I'm not so sure that's where we'll end up. Maybe the transition will be a lot slower than Delta is hoping, and we'll get to keep some of the Song planes for a bit longer. I also love thoe TVs. It makes the flight so much more pleasant. I have said it before...a flight to MCO without the TVs is a very loud and raucous affair. With the TVs it's much more peaceful..the kids are entertained rather than complaining. Ah well...so much for a good thing.
Looks like JetBlue will be getting more of my business...if they could only figure out what they're doing now it would be nice.

We are going in July. They changed our flight numbers and times changed slightly. Out seats numbers remained the same but were not showing up on the website - the website said "unassigned". When I called them, they said we did have assigned seats and they were the same as before but weren't showing up on screen due to systems issues. They sent new receipts to my e-mail with the new flight information and the seat assignments.

My advice to is to call them.

Jill,

I don't know if anyone really knows yet. We flew Song in Feb, and they were still Song planes. (Jetblue on the way home). I think as we get closer to May, and they start refitting the aircraft, we'll know more.

Unrelated, but pertinent to you, we had a GREAT ride home from Logan with Extreme. They were there waiting for us, name on a sign in the window of the Suburban.

How you feelin these days?

Debbie

Thanks everyone, appreciate it. I have called, several times about the seating and flight time changes. They keep reassuring me about no seat changes due to first class, but I really don't trust that. I think I should just call and change them permanently to the back of the plane, but not over the wing.

Debbie, great feedback on Extreme! :thumbsup2 Thanks for letting me know. I have them all booked. I just hope they don't drive at 100 mph like the last company did :rolleyes2 ! I was holding on for dear life, with my family of five around me. Yikes. Why do they have to get to Logan like their life is depending on it? I'm feeling great now, thank you. :) It was a full 6 week recovery, yuk. I finally got back to the gym and now I'm back every day. It feels terrific. Thanks for asking and remembering! :sunny:

I called the other night as the airfares for Most dates in Nov, Dec and Jan (all non-holiday dates) are showing $1027 for the non-stop flights which were previously Song flights. I asked them what was going on as the Oct and Sept rates are fine.

The supervisor said that they didn't want to have to rebook the seats due to the aircraft changes so they are showing all sold out. So if this is true, the actual switch won't happen until NOV (just when I'm flying out). :guilty: However, I also, just flew in Feb and the flight attendent said that the 757's are going transcontinental and also to the west coast so the Boston/MCO routes would be getting 737 or MD-80's. So no more TVs.

It was nice while it lasted. Maybe they will reconsider if we complain loud enough :rotfl:

Well, right now we're on a 757 aircraft. I asked if this will be a Song plane, and they stated no. Why'd they have to go and take a really good thing away on us like the tv's?

My flights were changed from Song to Delta, new flight numbers. Seat assignments were lost, I also had row 5 or something. (JFK to MCO) The times changed by over 2 hours, so I called to adjust that to more agreeable times....... On the flight back, we ar enow on a huge plane, with the 2 aisles.

I would still call once in awhile, or at least keep checking online. We aqre now in row 15 or something, not too bad, but I like the front. Once I had the VERY last row, to Chicago from Newark, and it was HORRIBLE.

Hi all,

Im a big fan of song and when i heard of all this merging business i blanched. As of May 1st 2006 Song officialy ceases service. But dont worry you should still be on a direct flight. There are a few things you can do to make sure you still have seats on your flight. Go to the delta website and check your itinerary. And also if you are in the front i wouldnt worry about it too much. About the Song planes. They will join the delta fleet and the front section will eventually be replaced with first class. However, you may when you are booking come across a 757 with a from section when you book your flight. This is a song plane. Delta plans to add what was in song into there planes eventually. Thats TVs, Leather seats (which are already on most planes) and contemporary color schemes. And remember the FAA says there must be a contract of travel at each ticket counter in the airport. Ask to see it. Usually the airline will upgrade (free of charge) you if a delay/seat giveup was their fault. If you see that in the contract point it out to them because they may not point it out to you. Hope this helps

Brett
