? to All. What was the 1st place you ate at WDW?

Our first place was Tony's Town Square in July of '93 (for breakfast, which they used to serve there). It was back when all of the restaurants at WDW had butter on the table like a mini statue of Mickey standing up. I miss that. We go back to Tony's everytime for our first meal (now lunch) and it's a nice tradition and brings back memories for all of us.

Our first meal at WDW was definitely our worst.

We arrived at WDW last summer (first and thus far only trip)at around noon STARVING having had breakfast at 5:00 a.m. before leaving for the airport. We had planned to stop at a drivethru on the way to BC but in our excitement we forgot.

At checkin we asked where we could use a CS credit and were told about Hurricane Hannah's but when we got there they were closing up due to rain. At 2:00 we got to MGM and started looking for a place to eat. We ended up at the Backlot where the line was out the door long. We waited and waited, and finally at 3:15 ended up with a couple of mediocre hamburgers and some fries, which we wolfed down. At this point I was thinking "These crowds are ridiculous, why on earth didn't we go to the beach?" The kids weren't much better, they kept asking "where's the castle, where's Mickey?" DS said "This isn't what I expected". MGM turned out to be their least favorite park.

The sad thing was that we then had a 4:30 FDP reservation at Mama Melrose's where they seated us immediately. There was no way we'd be able to eat close to the amount of food on a FDP, which was too bad because the food there was quite good.

Luckily the Backlot turned out to be the exception to an otherwise nice vacation.

I don't remember the very first place we ate, but I do remember on our first trip together dh and I ate at Coral Reef. It was just beautiful and the food was excellent. We have very fond memories of that dinner.

Our first trip in 1996 was to the Polynesian. We had just checked in and we went to Captain Cooks for a quick lunch. I had the pork sandwich, and I remember it like it was yesterday.

It was my honeymoon in 1994. We were married only 24 hours and eating at the Hoop De Doo up on the balcony. :)

I'm trying to think of if we ate anything that trip before .

Nope. It's Chef Mickey's!!!!

It's now a tradition for us. First night. Gotta be Chef Mickey's.

I had a chuckle at the first meal being at an MGM counter. Had to be thiinking Oh no, what have we gotten into at that point.

Mine was in 1989 with my Mom at Coral Reef. We thought it was VERY expensive and not very good. Boy, have my tastes changed. My DH & I make dining around WDW one of the highlights of our vacation.

For my VERY first trip in 1984 (I was 8 years old)- I have no clue. :)

However, for our trip 19 years later (Nikkie's first trip, my second trip), it was, get this-- the food court at the All-Star Music. How thrilling. :)

:) It was Chef Mickey's. DW and I were engaged at the time and took a spur of the moment trip to WDW as a college graduation gift to her. It really set the tone :wizard: for our first trip to the World. It has and will be a tradition.

I remember where we ate first on our first trip, back in 1987. It was Liberty Tree Tavern. At the time, we lived outside Boston and some resturaunts in that area have that same Colonial theme that the LTT has. I don't remember what we ate, but I do remember sitting through the whole meal, thinking how ironic it was that we flew over 1000 miles just to eat at a place like back home. Now, I love eating at LTT for that reason-I miss Massachusetts!

On our very first trip to WDW, our first meal was dinner at Chef Mickey's! What a great way to start the trip.

I had done my research and booked a PS at Chef Mickey's, but didn't tell my dh or the kids (who were 5 & 7 at the time) where we were eating. I was the only one who even knew there was such a thing as character meals. As soon as we arrived at the Contemporary, I bought the kids autograph books. I told them they should have an autograph book "in case they ran into any characters when we visited the parks the next day."

You should have seen their faces when we walked in and were greeted by Goofy. We had a great time that night and the kids got lots of autographs. DH had as much fun as the kids. The fun our family shared at Chef Mickey's that night is one of my most treasured family memories.

We thought that too when we ate lunch there last time. We live about 5 minutes away from Colonial Williamsburg and we felt like we were at home!

Ohana's. The chicken dance. Fireworks. One of the best memories of our first trip, & there is no way for me to avoid continuous repeats!

1983-Lilly Belle (now Fulton's) at what is now DD. My friend and I had been on Ca arnivale cruise and added WDW. We went to the Lilly Belle and felt very grown up for our 23 yrs. It was a lovely meal except for near the beginning of the meal a waiter came by and dropped a full pot (and I think it was a silver one) of coffee on our table just missing my head and splashing me with coffee. They moved us to a dry table but didn't even comp us a dessert! Of course, now I know better. :cool1: I don't remember any other meals from that trip-it was a long time ago!

First place I remember eating at is Crystal Palace. If it was there in 1975 or 1976 then that was the first place I remember eating at. I remembered the pretty porch and glass, but that's about it. We went back when I was 12.

First place at Epcot was Biergarten (1982-ish) and all I remember was I didn't care for it.

First place at MGM: 50's PT 2005 Eh..it was Ok.

Fun question for all. Just Wondering where was the 1st place you ever ate in WDW? Mine was Pinocchio Village Haus. This was in 1986. We got a table where we could see the boats from Small world go by thought it was just the best at that time. Keep in mind this was back in the day (before the dis board)before all the great places they have now. Where was your 1st time at? :yay:

Many a moons ago - 1972 - Crystal Palace - Only park open was the Magic Kingdom.

We leave in 17 days - I hope to eat at the Crystal Palace this time with my "Grandson".

What a GREAT family tradition.

:bday: :sail: :boat: princess: :darth:
