We are planning on spending one day at a water park with our almost 4 year old. Anybody have a preference of Typhoon Lagoon vs. Blizzard Beach?

We like TL due to the tropical theming, and the water slides are a bit more tame. The wavepool is pretty rough tho, head out yourself first to try it before you take your little one out. We loved snorkeling, but if your child is too young it is cool to go in the ship to look at the sea life and snorkelers. Our DS did not like how cold the water was for the shark encounter so he did this, and thought it was cool to see us swim by. Many prefer BB, but to me I am after tropical theming, not winter! :cold: :teeth:

I haven't been to WDW in almost 10 years, but we went to Typhoon Lagoon back then. Everything was a blast but I have to agree about the wave pool being rough. I was a tiny 14 year old girl, and my brother was a tiny 12 year old. In 1994, they had a rough sandpaper like bottom to the pool, and we were trying to body surf, etc. The bottom just ended up scraping us up. It wasn't very fun, so we didn't stay there long.

Well, we haven't been for a couple of years but when we went in 2002 we MUCH preferred Blizzard Beach. As has been said above, the floor in the Typhoon Lagoon is like sandpaper and we ended up spending the afternoon in a medical centre when our eldest ( who should have known better) cut his toe open on it.

Apart from that the madness of being surrounded by snow and ice in the Florida sunshine is worth a visit.

There are kid specific parts to both which will suit a 4 y.o, but my highlight was when Goofy played ball in the kids pool at Blizzard Beach. Whichever one you choose try and bag a spot near the kid zone.

I have been to both TL and BB. I personally don't like water parks, i'd rather go to the hotel pool and swim. In my opinion don't go to BB if the weather is cooler b/c you will freeze your butt off b/c the water is so cold. It's up to your own opinion on which one to go to, both are great water parks.

Having been to both, I prefer BB and next time we go, my DD will be 34 months old and I think she will enjoy it a lot more than TL. It also gives tons of options for our other children, and I personally love the slides there.

We prefer BB to TL. If you do go to TL please watch the wave pool as people have said the waves are extremely strong and knock grown people off their feet. My son hurt his foot on the floor because it was so rough.

Being from Western Mass. we prefer Typhoon Lagoon as it has a more "tropical" feel to it. Yes - the wave pool is rough, but they do have a nice kiddie section and a very nice lazy river that I saw many young children/babies with their parents. The water was 82 degrees in the lazy river when we were there last week and 78 degrees in the wave pool.
