TKers Take the Fifth!

Aww...thanks. I find my BF very handsome. He's starting to lose his hair, and always complains about it. So for his stocking stuffer I got him some spray Rogaine. We both like his hair very much! :lmao:

:rotfl2: My DH is too. Each time he gets his hair cut there is less and less. Should be cheaper now. :lmao: I love the spray Rogaine stocking stuffer idea.

You're totally right about the haircut thing...I get charged double because I have too much hair (or extra length charge as they like to call it), so why not charge less if there is less hair to deal with?

Ho Ho Ho!!!!

OMG, LITC, he is such a happy little bundle of joy. I get the warm-fuzzies just looking at him.

Not much going on here today. I decided to start shopping at a new grocery store and saved over $40 on my regular grocery bill. :woohoo: I've also decided to stop buying pre-packaged cookies and snacks. We have such a huge kitchen now that I'm going to put it to good use.

We cut our own hair here so don't have to worry about what they charge. Thank goodness because I couldn't even imagine what it would cost for all 6 of us to get regular cuts. DH shaves his head since he can't deal with the receding hairline thing. DS has it shaved over the summer or a fade during the winter. DH and DD13 have also gotten very good at doing a pixie cut for DD6. Us other girls only have straight hair that is easy to trim up to the length that we want.

Magikitty, you and your boyfriend are so cute together. :goodvibes I love the picture with you two in front of the hearse at the HM. That is one of the few special pictures we haven't gotten yet. One day.

D&DDisney, you are so lucky that you get to meet some of the tkers. I only wish I could have that chance one day.

DL55,

Does anyone know when the other tkers are suppose to be back from their trips?

Kitty

Read the side effects of that Rogaine. He may decide that losing hair is a better deal, if ya KWIM. :rolleyes1;);)

Thanks Pikester
for wanting to get the Flat-ones to me. I hate to see you at the post office today. If you guys don't make it in time I will take you along in June.:grouphug:

LITC- What a cutie!!!!! I could just squish him and his chubbie cheeks. DD says he cute too.

Gotta get the girl to school:teacher:
Check in later :wave2::flower3:

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are on out way to Bopsmom's house! Actually, we are probably sitting in a bin at the Post Office at this very minute but soon we'll be flying our way to Texas and then on to WDW.

LITC: Adorable! :lovestruc

Magikitty: Your BF is very handsome! Tell him to forget about it and that the TKers say he is nice looking.

I have short hair as anyone who has seen a picture of me knows and I have to get my hair cut every 3 weeks to keep the style that I want. It costs me $25 everytime! Sometimes my appt falls just right so I'm paying that twice a month. To make up for that the boys and DH get there hair cut at home. I just use the clippers and they're happy. There may come a day when the kids what different styles so they we'll be paying for them as I do not do hair (other then clippers).

I found the yummiest goody yesterdy. Chocolate covered Ritz Crackers! I think I ate almost the whole box yesterday! So goooooood! Had to go out today and buy me a couple more boxes.

Thank you so much for getting them out so fast....
I think DD will have some ideas for the flat us....
They'd better watch out....they'd better not pout...:santa::santa:

Your chocolate covered Ritz sounds a lot like my DD's favorite-make and take treat.
We call them Gobblins-you can make them for any holiday thanks to colored M&M's
Kids love to make them and they don't get so hot they can get burned....

You need:
Small or Mini Roll Gold Pretzels (looped kind)
Hershey kisses
M&M's

Set the oven to low 250 or so Place racks in the middle

Place pretzels flat on a cookie sheet.
Now MK, I have Silpat mats but, you can use PARCHMENT PAPER:rotfl:

Unwrap kisses(have the kids do this ahead) and place a kiss at the intersection of the pretzel loop

Put in oven and keep an eye on them-
as the kiss starts to warm, it will get 'soft-looking' around the top and sides but will still maintain it's shape.. Take them out!

Take an M&M and smush down into the middle of the kiss.
(adjust temp/time if the M&M doesn't smush down easily but don't scorch the kisses)

Let cool completely. You can package them up in treat bags or store air-tight.
Salty,sweet. Great party snack too.

On a sweet note, have ya'll tried the Mint Truffle Kisses-:worship::worship: OMG:lovestruc

Oh boy, I always wanted to sit in a bin at the post office. Is that some sort of new ride? :rotfl:
JOCAmom saving on the grocery bill. :thumbsup2 I probably could save more if I didn't take DH along.
LITC What a cute Santa! :lovestruc

I can't find my stash of bows (I recycle them) plus it looks like we'll run out of wrapping paper. I really don't want to buy them now. I prefer to wait until after Christmas. I haven't bought wrapping paper in a while as we usually send gift cards.
The tree has been set up. Only 4 ornaments on the floor in the morning. We don't put too many ornaments on plus they're unbreakable. Maybe next year we'll be able to put more on the tree (and they'll stay there). :santa:

Ooooh!!! I am soooo excited!!!! You would love to meet these ladies here. They are all so nice. I met a few of them this summer and we had a blast. Hope we can get together with you soon. :thumbsup2

Marie and M&N come back on Wed. Marie and I may be passing ships at the airport. I will be calling her when we land in hopes of seeing her before she goes through security. Wish me luck!!!

Those choco Ritz sound delish!!:cloud9:

Those pretzel snacks were a big hit at the party we went to this weekend. :thumbsup2
Haven't tried mint truffle, but have tried Candy Cane Kisses - Mmmmmm!!!!

Oh boy, I always wanted to sit in a bin at the post office. Is that some sort of new ride? :rotfl:
You are too funny!!! :rotfl2:

LITC - Love that pic of you and Walter!!! :cutie:

Not sure if I'll be back on before we leave. Mom is coming to watch the dog & house while we are gone and she will be staying in this room. I really hope Disney is okay while we are gone. After a few months of feeling well, she had another seizure this morning. I know it is only a matter of time, but I don't want anything to happen when we can't be with her. :sad1: Right now, she's up and acting like nothing happened - as usual. She is such a good dog. Her birthday is on Christmas. She'll be 14.:dog:

I have almost everyone packed. We're so very excited :mickeyjum. I've decided I don't care what the weather is like cuz I'll be at Disney!!!!:goofy::tigger::donald:

See you all next Monday.

Bopsmom - Call me when y'all get settled on Sat. We'll probably be walking around the BW that evening. :yay:

Evening ladies...today was a completely different world from the sleet and snow of yesterday. We even made it to the 40s! It was sunny too!

My holiday cards FINALLY arrived. I'll be working on them tonight.

D&D...if you don't get to come back, have a safe and amazing trip! We'll be thinking of you! Hope you get to run into everyone while you're down there...have a little dance at the Osbourne lights for me, will ya?

LITC...Baby Walter is getting cuter every day! How is that possible? I love the little Santa outfit. How wonderful to be sharing the holidays with a little one! I love his smile!

DL55...I know what you mean about having to buy holiday stuff. I like to stock up post-holidays. There never seems to be enough wrapper though. Hope you find those bows. I gave up on bows years ago, the kitties have too much fun with those.

Bopsmom...thanks for sharing the recipe! They sound like something I can actually do! Oh! And thanks for the idea of Silpats...my family has been bugging me about what to ask for, I'll put those on my list! Avoid the parchment/wax paper confusion altogether...and I'm not going to mention those side effects to BF just yet...but he does have the box so if he's a good consumer, he'll be aware of it already.

JOCA...I really enjoyed those special "surprise" photopass pics. Although on my last trip I thought there were less photopass people around, in general I was able to get those "magical" pics that I've never had before. Are there such "surprise" pics at other parties?

You know, since I've been home I haven't had the time to actually stroll through the stores and enjoy the holiday goodies. Those truffles sound yummy. I personally love Italian Christmas cookies...and I get all the pink ones! Chocolate covered Ritz?! Yum! Are they in the cookie aisle or the cracker aisle?

I have presents under the tree! Finally got around to getting out the presents and doing some wrapping. Realized that I have lots for my nieces, but very few for the nephews. Boys are so hard to shop for! I usually give them gift cards, but I do like to have something for them to unwrap on Christmas morning.

I have the strangest jet-lag. I get super sleepy around 7pm. I catnap until about 11 and then I really sleep until about 4:30. Its driving me crazy! I will beat it tonight. I'm caffinating myself in hopes of staying up until 11:23, so I can get back on schedule....I'm missing all the holiday programming!

I can't wait to hear how M&N and Marie's trip went!

Will do...I just checked again to make sure I have your number.

You're welcome. Silpats are great!!! Get the real ones-I was given some other brands of silicone mats and I could never funny smell/taste to come off them so, I had to toss them.
Someone:rolleyes1(DH) cut something on one of mine-it still works but he's gotta stay out of my kitchen. I guess there may be a new one under the tree for me this year

Hope you get some good sleep. Coffee and Christmas Cards should keep you awake.

Good morning!

Thought I would get that out of the way before I posted a head shaker.

Why is there always one in the bunch? There is a post on the Community Board about the "Most Memorable Commercial" and many posters mentioned the Staples back to school commercial with "It's the most wonderful time of the year" song. One poster just has to post......"Aww, I hate that Staples' back-to-school commercial. I don't get it ... parents are glad to be apart from their children? That makes me sad."

WTH? :confused3

Good morning! Today may be my best bet to get some errands done...its supposed to be above freezing again today, then the rest of the week will be back to frigid temps.

Pikester...I saw that posting on the CB, but didn't have the courage to take a look. Despite my not having kids going back to school, I find that Staples commercial very funny. (some people really have to find a funny bone) There haven't been a bunch of holiday commercials this year. Has anyone seen the Coke polar bears? Those are some of my favorite ones to see..

I'll have to think about my favorite commercial. It may have to be that cute one earlier this year about the lottery, it was called sweet something, and they had all sorts of puppies and kittens and duckies going to sleep in pajamas.. I really loved that commercial...so cute and made me squeal with delight every time it came on.

I'm planning my menu for the week. Definitely going to make spinach lasagne...those items are on sale this week. Its a good time to make meatloaf too, comfort foods. Sweet potatoes are on sale, yum! Oh, and Sara Lee still has a frozen pumpkin cheesecake out...its the best I can do. I've searched all over and while I can still find pumpkin pie, I can't find pumpkin cheesecake anywhere....

Afternoon. It's damp and kind of dreary today. My 2 youngest get out of school early today and for the rest of the week because of parent/teacher conferences. Should make for an interesting afternoon.

D&DDisney, I probably missed ya by now but I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Bopsmom, are you done packing? You have a wonderful trip too.

Magikitty, would you mind sharing the recipe for the spinach lasagna? Is it pretty easy to make?

Pikester, I love that Staples commercial. I throw a party when the kids go back to school. :lmao: I must be a bad mom.

I like most of those commercials that were listed in that thread. Some are sad and heartwarming but that's what makes them so good. I think one of my all time favorite commercials is this old Craftsman tool one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9fZ1YFvQvc

See most of the men in my family are bowlers and I spent lots of weekends sitting in bowling alleys while they bowled in tournaments. Just once I wish something like that could have happened to make the day a little more exciting. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Have fun on your trip D&DDisney.:cloud9:
JOCAmom That commercial really made me :rotfl:
I haven't seen the Coke polar bears this year.

I think if a parent hasn't had a least on moment where they'd like to ship the kids off, they are on drugs. ;) Besides sending the kids off to school isn't like you won't see them for months.

My birdbath has become quite popular lately. Had about 8 robins, 2 blue jays and some other tiny birds, drinking and bathing the past few days. I guess if I actually filled it more consistently they would come more consistently. :lmao:

OK, I'm all caught up...lets see what I can remember.

LITC, Walter is just toooooo cute!

MK, the house looks great, the pool looks like heaven, and all that shrimp is making me hungry!

I WISH I could get my hair cut for $25!!! Every 5 weeks, $45. I have not found anyone else who can cut it right, so I keep going back to the same girl I've gone to for 10 years or so. She does my color too. And for the first time in as long as I can remember, I actually LIKE my hair, so I'm not switching!

MK, the pix of you and BF are great. You look so happy! (well, duh, you WERE at WDW...)

I'm so glad we're all on our way to Texas to see Bopsmom. I assume it's warmer there than here in NJ. And Florida should be even warmer. AND I'm going to Disney! WoooooHOOOOOOO!!! I'm having fun planning a vicarious trip for Charlie (my PT). Today we were handling dining plan questions (thanks JOCA for your help!!!) and ADRs. I'm having fun with this.

As far as holdiay commercials, I guess I don't really have a favorite. I do like the Coke bears, but haven't seen them this year. That bowling one was hilarious. And MK, that "sweeter than sweet" one always made me think of you!

Took Duke to the vet yesterday. Looks like possibly Thyroid. The vet doesn't think it's Cushings disease. I pray not. Thyroid is easy--take a pill every day and get all better. I could handle that. Poor doggie. I hate seeing him looking so miserable.

Well, I suppose I should go think about some lunch...

OMG I just went to the thread about commercials and clicked on the link from Dan Murphy (first page) for the Budweiser soldiers commercial. it made me cry!!!

Afternoon all...it's gotten cold here again so I'm glad I did my last shopping road trip yesterday in the rain. Even managed to get DH a gift...BlueRay players were on real cheap at Costco. :thumbsup2

Bon Voyage Deb & Holly...have a wonderful trip.

MK ~ Love the pics...your house is going to be wonderful...and the pics of you and BF in WDW are too cute!!

LITC ~ Santa Walter is adorable...give him a kiss from me!

......"Aww, I hate that Staples' back-to-school commercial. I don't get it ... parents are glad to be apart from their children? That makes me sad."

I guess should wouldn't like to see me dancing a the bus stop every September!!

My fav commercial is the guy standing in the tampon aisle using his cell phone to scan the different brands while his girlfriend/wife tells him which ones to buy...every man's worst nightmare I think!!

Hi DL55, Pikester, Wendy & JO
