Having the pros put up your lights is real big around here. I think the guy I got the quote from must be the most expensive one though, since I really can't imagine paying that kind of money. I do see his signs on quite alot of lawns though. Must be nice to have that kind of cash to toss around! Quite honestly, some of the yards he does are just so overdone it makes me nauseous! I don't want my yard to look like someone barfed up Christmas lights everywhere! I just want my red and white bushes, a couple of traditional Christmas trees, and one tree where all the branches are individually wrapped (I think that looks SO cool, and I'll probably leave those lights up year round anyway. Add in my 2 inflatables (not near as cute as D&D's racecar!) and a wreath on my front door, and that's it for outdoor decor.
I've even cut way back inside. We do the tree, I have some Christmas baskets and pictures, and we hang our stockings. That's about it.
Right now I am listening to 2 very unhappy kids moaning about having to rake leaves. You would think I was asking them to sacrifice their lives. They've been in the house at least 4 times to complain. And now DD had the nerve to say 'at least I'm not lazy". Well guess who's not cooking dinner tonite!!! That will teach her. She'll be ready to go to swim practice but there will be no dinner for her. I guess she'll have to make a sandwich. Oh well.
Can you tell I am in a TOTALLY snarky mood today? It all started when the kids didn't get in until 5 of 11 last night. I'm sorry, that's not appropriate. I woke them up this morning and of course they were grouchy. Then my ride to church had to cancel, so we had to ride in with the youth minister, who goes in 30-40 minutes before we would have needed to be there, so we had to rush, and then sit around for 45 minutes doing nothing. I forgot to take a pain pill, so I was not real comfortable. Also, the ex had picked up DS's pills and forgot to drop them off last night when he brought them home. So DS called and said we needed them asap, within 30 minutes. 45 minutes later we had to leave, but no pills, so I had to give DS a smaller dose which is never enough to keep him sane.

Thank heavens someone showed up right before I started to panic. It was posted that they would be there 12:00-2:00. For the life of me I cannot figure out why they would have not left at least one person there since they were only going to be opened for 2 hours... but I guess I should just be happy that someone did show up. Anyhoo....
I do not mean to offend anyone around here if you have a little cheerleader. I just mean to say that it is not all that much fun to watch if it is not your own little cheerleader you are watching and you end up spending 2 hours arguing with your whiny and persistent DD about why she cannot play on the equipment or go tumble with everyone else since we are not members of the place, only paid up for Jiu-Jitsu. It is good to take DS but next time DD and I will be staying home! Gotta say that I still do not understand the current dress codes that are allowed on children these days. Skimpy seems to be universally acceptable. I am pretty used to that but why would cheerleaders be wearing t-shirts which read "Maverick's Mafia"? Is that supposed to be funny or something? I just don't get.

We don't decorate as much as we did before. I used to set up a village but since we got the new cat I just don't want to bother trying to keep the little people from disappearing. I guess I'm just getting lazy.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Are you getting any sleep???
Hows the weather there????
If I remember we did have rain on TG last year.
