TKers Take the Fifth!

Hi everyone! I lost my multiquotes when aol cut off. It does that now when someone trys to call me and I'm on the computer. I'll try and remember...

First of all...how can that little Walter get any cuter? Such a sweet smile! I did a loud OOOOHHHH! too. Such a day brightener. I know how we are going to get through this dreary winter weather now...LITC will just have to keep posting his cute little face for us.

I know Pikester---I'm so excited too. It is getting closer. I got clothes together at Mom's. My friend feels it will be cooler there than usual and suggested layers. She got cool at MVMCP.

You sound busy too Marie! You have a lot of cute Santas! I need to get rid of some of my stuff. I just don't have room for it all. I do snowmen. I don't have any pics on my computer though.

I went to the flower thing in April I think. I did post pics. It is very pretty. I think I liked the Food and Wine Festival just a s much. I guess I just like DW---except in the summer! Way tooooo hot!

I think the racecar village sounds great! I've seen a #20-Home Depot one. I'm sure Racetrack would love a #18 for her yard! But then I may just have to get my sling shot out! ;) I would love a snowman snow globe. If I were home more, I would probably have to have one! Having lights wrapped on all the branches can be very pretty. I just have a huge evergreen tree of some kind out front. I would need a crane to decorate it...sure it would cost big bucks to get it done...plus the elecrtic bill!

All this talk is pumping me up for the Osborne lights!

D&D---It was awful of you to publish food porn on here! Kitty's not here to drool! :rotfl: At least it won't spoil until she can see it! The crust looks yummy too...I did not go to the link...I got enough calories just looking at it!!!

Don't these kids know Christmas is coming? I thought they were always good the month before---so they will get better gifts!

Oh, I looked at Walter again...he just looks like he's trying to tell you how cute he is. There's a look of mischief in those eyes!

Oh yeah---Marie...it's vacation...calories don't count then!

Here's one for you M&N...

This is the one I'd get for Racetrack's front yard.

Awww, thanks everyone for your pictures/descriptions of your Christmas decorations. Marie, I really love your snowmen on the mantle. D&DDisney, we do have a fireplace and have looked at the stocking hangers for there. I always do a trip to the dollar store and pick up a bunch of window clings for the kids to do.

See, I know DH is going to want to do all kinds of decorations but I want it to be all tied together somehow.

So many of you going to Disney soon. I am so jealous. I really hope you all have lots of fun and the weather is beautiful for you.

Dale Earnhardt Jr is my favorite. He hasn't done that good lately but then I don't pick favs because they are good---I've been a Phillies fan all my life!:rotfl: I rooted for Dale Sr so just went with his son when he started racing Busch. I think his career went off track when his Dad died and his stepmom took over DEI. I do root for other drivers too and boo a few too but that makes it

That's right, I remember that you said you liked Dale Earnhardt Jr. I watched parts of some races since we last talked about it but I still have problems telling them all apart.

So, who's the most hated driver? Is it the guy who won the championship this year?

I don't think Jimmie Johnson is the most hated. I have friends who love him and friends who think he won enough and root against him. I guess the most booed this year was Kyle Busch. He's got the M&M car---cute car! One of the former TKers who was banned was a great fan of his---went by Racetrack18kb. You popbably have seen some references to her. I posted her NASCAR picks after she was banned. I guess he just got too good too fast---plus many feel he is too full of self-importance maybe you could say! He's also a poor looser...but then he really hadn't had that much practice at it. People really didn't like his older brother that much but he's mellowed with age! I guess anyone who bangs up your favorite driver is the one you boo. I used to boo Jeff Gordon---he banged up Dale Sr when he was just a new driver. But then Dale Sr could bang up anyone! He actually was booed by some too. Sorry to bore you all---The season is over until Feb!

Oh no, you are not boring me at all. I find it all fascinating how passionate NASCAR fans are about their sport. Kyle Busch just sounds like he's misunderstood though. A younger guy who's won more than people expected.

I can't imagine anyone getting banned from here.

She wasn't banned for what she wrote on our thread. You know we have very caring people on this thread...some more outspoken than others. I'm sure you have seen how some get on other threads...they are right and if you disagree, you are definitely wrong. Sometimes it's just hard to be polite when someone is bashing someone else!

Are you ready for Tday JO? We have gone out for years. Both my parents worked in retail and it was a busy week and weekend for them. We started going out with my friend and her parents. Both our dad's are gone now but we keep up the tradition.

OH, I get it now. And I have seen some of those threads out there. I try to just read and post in the happier threads. I am especially loving reading all the Thanksgiving threads right now.

I need to get to bed. Only 2 more days of school until the kids have a nice few days off and I can sleep in a little.

Have a nice night. And see you tomorrow.

Good Morning all. I am back from getting my computer from the "Doctors". What did I miss? I need a a quick update?

I can't believe it's almost THANKSGIVING.

Chat later.

Have you guys seen what's going on in the Phils? Something like 30 or 40 some people were killed by (they think) a political family that was the rival of the guy they were caravanning to sign up to run in an election. A bunch of the people killed were journalists. The President has declared a state of emergency. this all happened somewhere in the south. Does anyone know what area Kitty's family is in? I hope and pray they are safe!

Kitty, please check in and let us know you are OK!!!!!

I'm pretty sure Kitty's family is on one of the larger islands??? She had said where it was near but I don't remember. I know their house was out of the way of the storm and think then is when she said it was inland on a larger island. I do think prayers are necessary...things like this cause troubles all over sometimes. When I saw the map of where it happened, I did have a peace that she wasn't near there.

Hey Sukie---Did your computer have the swine flu? :rotfl: Glad it's all better. I hope your hobbling days are over. You do need to page back to see our little Walter...he's growing and showing more personality. We've had soem sickies but they are on the mend. We've talked about Tday plans of course and even Christmas decorations. Some of us are gearing up for DW so you need to pop in so we don't get killed here!

When I heard this I thought immediately of MagiKitty. I'm sure she's alright but you never know what else might happen. :scared:

Glad to see you back Sukie.

JOCAmom Thanks for more Christmas stuff. I have to wait until I remove the Thanksgiving stuff so I can add more. ;)

I WIN! I just learned how to find out who has posted on our thread. And I've been the most annoying!

For the other noisey people, you go to where the threads are listed and left click on the number of replies. You can then left click on the number of replies a person has made and find those posts. I thought it would help find when someone said something. Like if you knew who posted the recipe, you could find it easier.

I'll shut up now and stop posting to myself! ;)

I guess I can tell why I won...no one else around! I'm giving you all a chance to catch up while I'm gone. But then I'm always gone over the weekend. I guess I do talk too much! :hippie:

I just read about telling kids there is no Santa. I simply do not understand why parents would lie to their kids and tell them Santa is not real. :confused3Who told you there was no Santa? How did your kids find out? Until the year my dad died, I always got something from Santa.

Good evening ladies. It was a rather uneventful day around here today. My friend came and cleaned my house today. That is always great! She is also going to check in on the cat and the house while we are gone so we went over the things she needs to do. That pretty much shot most of the day. (We do way too much talking while she works. :rolleyes1)
This evening we dropped off DS at his Jiu-Jitsu class and hit Walmart for hopefully our last trip until after we get back from our trip. Stocked up on cat and dog food, grabbed some gloves in case it gets cold in WDW and a few more items to finish off my Christmas decorating. As usual, spent more than I intended. (So funny. During holiday cooking people sure know how to clean off those shelves! There was not a jar of Cheez Whiz or a bag of broccoli left in the store.)

whgrn, dear me! I never watch the news so I had not heard what had happened in the Phils. I will be praying that Kitty and her family are all okay.
I got a letter 2 days ago saying that our sponsor child from there was graduating from the program. We have sponsored him for 9 years. I pray that he and his family are safe too.
I would love to be a minimalist Christmas decorator. I thought I was even going to pull it off this year but first DD started begging for more and then even DH joined in. So all this time I assumed I was the only one who really appreciated all the stuff I put out each year but come to find out the rest of the family really likes it too. I still cut way back. Instead of all my Santas and Snowmen I brought out all the animated characters to satisfy DD. I also pulled out a musical animated nativity that I have had for years but never got out. DD absolutely loves it so it looks like I have just about appeased the masses. One more shelf and I will be done.

DL55, we have a cat too and I don't dare put out anything breakable that she can reach. We have an animated Tigger who has a tree with ball ornaments mounted on springs. Every year, never fails, in the night she manages to make it up on the shelf to swat at the balls and rip one off the limbs. She's a bad putti-tat!

D&D, thanks for the compliment on my Santas and snowmen. Much as I love them all I am envious of both you and Wendy and your simpler styles of decorating. It's a pain putting it all up and taking it back down!

Pikester, I am not much of a driver either which works out fine for us anyway cause DH is such a control freak he would never trust me driving on a long trip. Starting out at 4 in the morning I bet you will be glad to not be driving and maybe catching a nap instead.

M&N, :worship: I have a long way to go before I even touch your posting record! I only made it to 9th place. Not too bad considering I made it to the starting line a bit late. That is an interesting trick finding how many posts everyone has made. And you by no means talk too much!
Congratulations to you getting some of the packing done. It is going to be really tricky packing for 2 weeks not knowing how the weather will be. Thank heavens we will have a washer and dryer. Otherwise it would cost a fortune to take something different for every weather possibility.
Speaking of weather.... what was the weather like in April at WDW?
With us homeschooling and not being in the mainstream of things my kids have been somewhat sheltered and not had to grow up quite so fast. DS was able to believe in Santa for a good while longer than a lot of children. Eventually some kid burst the bubble and spoiled the magic. Oh my goodness, he was so mad at us for LYING to him. I never ever imagined him responding that way.... not sure I have ever heard of anyone responding that way. Anyway, we tried to explain to him but it took a really long time for him to not be mad at us. Fast forward years later... he now has a younger sister who still believes at age 9. Every now and then DH will say he guesses it's just about time to tell her the truth. DS's attitude is much different now than is was then. He will say no no. I think he finally understands the magic behind believing. Me, I am with you, M&N. I will always believe! Maybe not in the magical and innocent way of a child but in the spirit of Santa.

JOCAmom, thanks for all the images! There were a lot of great ones in there! Too bad you have a limit on what you can cram in a siggie! Maybe when I get back I can decorate my place for Christmas when I ditch the PTR link and the countdown ticker.

Hi Sukie! Glad your computer is back up and running. We thought DD's was going to bite the dust today. Turned out to be one of the fans and all we had to do was unplug it since she has 2 more.

If I don't make it back before Thursday... I hope everyone has a

What do you mean, there's no Santa??? There most certainly IS a Santa! Have you never read "Yes Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus"?

My DD is 14 and still believes solidly. You couldn't convince her otherwise! DS, at 12.5 pretty much knows the truth, but wants to still believe. He plays along for his sister's sake. Besides, I told them years ago, "If you don't believe, you don't receive!" We still leave out milk and cookies, and carrots for the reindeer.

I found out when I was 7. My younger sister told me and I cried for days. Never thought my parents lied to me, I was just so disappointed to lose that image of the jolly fat man coming down the chimney (which we didn't even HAVE at the tme!)

We have, since the kids were small, adopted a family for Christmas. i've always described it as "playing Santa", or "being Santa's helpers", and the kids just love it. They also knew early on that the guy in the red suit at the mall was not really Santa, just one of his helpers. I told them the real Santa is MUCH too busy at the North Pole this time of year.

They also think I have Santa's personal phone # (it's 1-800-NORTHPOLE) but that only Moms and Dads can get through. Danny tried calling it a few years back and got some company. I told him I got the special connection at the same time i got the eyes in the back of my head!

When I was in college, my mom was still making gift tags on our presents that said "To Wendy, From Santa". But I remember thinking at about 8 or 9 that Santa's writing sure looked alot like Mom's. That's why to this day, I have someone else write the gift tags for the kids' gifts from Santa! He only brings them each one gift, and they get 2 from me. We do not go overboard on presents. I do the stockings too--I didn't do one for me until the kids complained and wrote a letter to Santa saying Mommy was a good girl and deserved to get a stocking too!:lmao:

I just LOVE the magic of Christmas. It's the most wonderful time of the year!
