Some how some way I finally hit the 1,00o mark. Darn. Missed it.:confused3

Thanks for all ya'lls concern. I have been keeping my hand/arm swabbed in Neosporin. So far the burns are healing and I will have some pretty scars. What is that scar stuff you are supposed to use?

Hey MK glad you are home.

We are having a fall day-gray and cool but supposed to heat back up to upper 80's next week-I guess we get our fall in batches.
Sorry to hear some are getting snow....that is just too soon.

Hi all...just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a
Happy Thanksgiving!!
(from Canada)

OMG!!!!!!

Just looked out the window and there are flurries out there!!!!!:scared1::scared1:

Please send warmth immediately!!!!!!!

No snow here but it's damn cold out there!!! brrr!

Sukie - Prayers coming your (their) way! How tragic and sad. :sad1:

Brr! Such a change from the 90 degree weather in Orlando! (which was far too hot for me in my opinion), but come on! We're hovering around the freezing mark right now. Just a great excuse for a hot beverage....
Hugs to everyone! Happy Sunday!
Stay warm Kitty! Glad to have you back. I hope that warm weather in Orlando sticks around til Dec. :yay:

Happy TG Ev!!! Did you get a freeze there last night? We did. Temps down to 27 I believe. :cold:

Bopsmom - Congrats on hitting 1000. :cheer2: Glad the burn is healing. Once healed, try Mederma. My DS used it when he got a gash in his forehead (falling off of a treehouse ladder when he was 3) Worked pretty well.

I am so excited that I might get to meet Bopsmom in person at WDW in Dec. :woohoo: I'm going to have to make a TKer list for my siggie and color in each of your names as I get to meet you.

Freezing temps here again tonight. We're trying to stay warm. So bummed that winter is coming so early this year.

DS7 just lost both of his front top teeth this weekend. He looks so cute. Toothfairy is doing double duty this weekend - 2 nights in a row! Our fairy leaves pixie dust and a gold dollar for the tooth.

Hello everyone! I swear I had went through all the posts and multi quoted, then my stupid laptop battery died (I never get the warning anymore-it just dies) and I lost everything. Walter is sleeping in one arm and I am typing one handed so I dont have the energy to go back, but hello to everyone just the same!
PS though - to all of you who have those really cool smilies, how/where do you get them. And how do you get them to work on the dis????

Good morning! Happy Columbus Day! Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving!

D&D...take lots of pics of DS7. He must look just adorable.

We're freezing around here too. Can't believe its just October. I hope this is just freak weather and not how winter will be overall.

Been debating about a trip report....my first one crashed and burned years ago. I'd like to wait until my Photopass pics come in, which may be a while, and I'm concerned that I may forget some of the stuff I wanted to tell. I'm still going back and forth on it. I've been writing lists down and maybe I'll transfer it to a TR later on....

I was telling BF that I'm going through Dis planning withdrawal. We decided not to book Bounceback next year. We're thinking of doing a Universal trip instead, but we keep thinking that if they offer free dining again in the fall, we may stay onsite and just travel back and forth. I really enjoyed the ease of free dining, and we can eat at the resort restaurants.

Maybe I'll plan a fake trip just to keep me upbeat. :thumbsup2

let's have a good day everyone!

Good morning ladies! Lovely overcast day outside.... probably just like some of the rest of you are looking at. DH actually turned the heater on yesterday. Can you believe that? Already here in Texas? Good grief. I hope that doesn't mean we are in for a long cold winter.

LITC, thanks for the reminder that Dec. 5th will be Walt's birthday. That is a nice piece of trivia for Pikester and I to commiserate over while in the park. We are going to have to work out a plan if we want to keep the Flat TKers in the park all December long! If Pikester passes them off to me who can I get them to when I leave on the 16th? M&N? When do you leave? D&D? Remind me again when and where you arrive! Anybody got a good idea?
I hope you get your chance to have a Joel somewhere down the road.
I know what you mean about being jealous of those with strong faith. My belief in God never really waivers but I wish I had the enthusiasm that I see some others have. As for my DS, only time will tell. All we can do is try to raise him to the best of our ability and instill in him what we believe is important. The real test will be when he is out on his own someday.

Wendy, now don't be trying to give my kids to LITC! They are actually my sponsor children. You do have a whole other extended family, don't you? Which organization do you have yours through? Mine are through Children International. I think it would be amazing to see one of them in person someday but I would probably be too chicken to go to some of those countries!
I had to go to church growing up too. Only in my case it was my dad who did not go. I always thought he was so hypocritical for doing that and it left me bitter. Of course, looking back now I have to wonder how much of that just came from having issues with him to begin with and just being a teenager. I do thank the Lord that my DH and I both attend. At least we are able to provide a united front. It could have very easily not happened that way since we came from different backgrounds. But I believe in divine intervention especially after we found a church we both liked and the preacher became best friends with my DH. Unfortunately, after 12 years some issues came up in the church where he had to leave. It broke our hearts and left us struggling for several years. Things will never be the same but we are managing in a different church.... just not on the same level. I wish we could find a place with a youth group like you had,Wendy ,where DS loved it but it seems to be an area sorely lacking in the churches in our community.
I love Fiona. She looks great! Red is my favorite color!

Pikester, that was very nice of your DH! I haven't told mine about us meeting yet... although he has heard plenty about my friends online. They said this, they said that. I imagine he thinks I am a nut by now! Anyway, he and DS may bow out of our meeting but I am very sure my DD will be in tow for the event. She is like my little shadow and not likely to let me get away by myself. You will like her though. She's pretty cute. Be warned though, she is gonna talk your ear off. She never meets a stranger!
Sounds like another TKer with bad church experiences growing up. I hope someday you take your Nana up on going again. I know it is hard to get started but after you get going again it gets easier. You can, of course, teach your kids the things they need at home, though sometimes having a church to call your own can be a good thing.

MagiKitty, glad you are back home and getting settled back in. Glad the family in the Phils are all okay. Trip Report! YES! YES! YES! That will give you something to do so you don't have to suffer withdrawals. Of course, the fake trip planning could work some too. You never know... it might just turn into reality.

Sukie, that is one cool looking cat! Looks like she thinks she owns the place.... as most cats do.
What a horrible story! Truly hard to imagine how anyone human could be so cruel.
What sort of hunting does your DH do? Nice of him to relinquish the computer to you!

SCHBR'smom, I saw you posting over on the homeschool thread. I have just been lurking but I do need to drop in and put in my 2 cents one of these days.

Shmu, welcome back! Sounds like you had a whirlwind trip. I enjoyed your castle video tour. You have a lovely family. Can't wait for some pictures!
Gotta dig up my ornament. I should be able to do that before November 8!

pepperw23, congratulations on getting a lot of your writing done!

Ev, Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

D&D, my DD lost her 2 front teeth while we were in Disneyland last year. Made all of our pics so cute! I am not so sure she would agree.

Why do husbands get such pleasure out of annoying their poor wives? Every time I go to the bathroom and my DH is around he loves to stop at the door and ask "Are you busy in there?" He gets such a kick out of it! Another of his stunts to annoy me is to make the dog bark at him when he comes to the door. Wouldn't be a big deal but the acoustics in our house magnify the bark of the dog and it is LOUD. Hurts my ears! And if she just happens to go off when she is behind you it really scares the crap out of you! No matter how many times I ask him to knock it off he still thinks it is hilarious! Do any of you have stupid husbands, other family members, or friends like mine who take a perverse pleasure in torturing you?

Hi JOCAmom, Bopsmom and anyone else I missed!

We are going to have to work out a plan if we want to keep the Flat TKers in the park all December long! If Pikester passes them off to me who can I get them to when I leave on the 16th? M&N? When do you leave? D&D? Remind me again when and where you arrive! Anybody got a good idea?
We arrive at the airport around 11am on the 16th. If you'll be at the airport that morning we could exchange cell #s and hook up. Otherwise, If you leave them in an envelope at POP I will pick them up. We'll probably be checking in there after 12noon. PM me and I can give you my ressie #.

Kitty - I think the worst part about going on a WDW vacation is being back at home. :sad1: Big time withdrawals!!!! I see you have a Phils ticker. Maybe you can plan for that. Do you need any goodies for the kids again this year??? I'd be happy to send ya some.

Shmu - I am sending the package out today. Hope it arrives in a reasonable amount of time.

LITC - THe smilies come from Free Smilie sites. Just google Free Smiles. I don't download anything to my computer for safety reasons. Just cut and past the URL.

I did take a pic of DS7 and his toothless grin. I'll try to get it posted. I keep getting him to smile and say "th" and "s" words just to hear the little lisp he has now. :lovestruc I know its wierd, but he just looks so darn cute. When DS11 lost his I took him to get professional pics done just because I always wanted to remember the moment and share it. So adorable!!!!

It's a beautiful sunny but cool Fall day here today in NH! The temp was 30 degrees at 8:30AM, BRRRRR! According to the weather man (who never seems to get it right) we could see snow here anywhere from a dusting to 3" for Western and Northern NH.

Hey marie, my DH likes to annoy me by stabbing the plastic over the top of Lean Cuisine meals. In the instructions it tells you to poke a hole in the top of the plastic to allow the steam to escape during cooking. Well, I just take the corner of the plastic and peel it up a little. DH on the other hand uses his fork to poke the plastic over and over again which makes this horrible popping noise that hurts my ears! I told him it hurts them but he still does it. I'll even glare at him and he'll stop until I turn my back to him and then he just has to do one more stab. What a PITA! ;)

Magikitty, you have to write a TR! I would love to read about what WDW is like during this time of year. You did MNSSHP right? I want to hear about that too! After we do WDW this year we plan on doing Universal in 2011; after Harry Potter World opens. The kids will be older and hopefully DS8 will be into doing thrill rides more then he is now. -I can't believe it's Fall already. It's been so beautiful during my morning walks that I find myself slowing down to take it all in. I'm suppose to be speed walking.--I was so worried about your family in the Phils but am happy to hear that they are all OK.

BKMETV, Happy Thanksgiving!

pepper, Of course we miss you! So glad you found time to stop by and say hello.

Shmu, I sent you a PM for the address to send you the ornament.

LITC, I hate when that happens! Somtimes I hit the backspace button but instead of erasing it sends me back to the previous page therefore I lose all that I have written. Makes me Cranky!

Bopsmom, You keep taking care of those burns. I was going to post about the Mederma but I couldn't remember what it was called and then D&D beat me to it.

I hope everyone is having a good day!

DS7 just lost both of his front top teeth this weekend. He looks so cute. Toothfairy is doing double duty this weekend - 2 nights in a row! Our fairy leaves pixie dust and a gold dollar for the tooth.

Oh please, post a picture!!! They are SO cute like that!

Wendy, now don't be trying to give my kids to LITC! They are actually my sponsor children. You do have a whole other extended family, don't you? Oops, sorry about that!!! :rotfl: My kids are all through World Vision. I would love to actually visit them someday, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Red is my favorite color too!

Yeah, that would be my EX husband. I swear he lies awake at night thinking up ways to annoy me...

It's pretty cold and raw here. Barely 50 degrees, but grey and just not a nice day. I put the heat back on when I got up and it was 62 in my room. So now the whole house is 66 and I am wearing a sweatshirt.

Happy TG Ev!!!

The word of the day around here appears to be B*u*t*t. First I was in my kitchen and I heard my DD off in the other room say "He called my head a B*u*t*t". :lmao: I know I shouldn't think it funny but it was just so funny the way she said it! Then this afternoon we were babysitting my grandson. I was talking to Dstep-D and the kids were swinging. Off in the distance I heard DD say "My B*u*t*t feels like it shrunk" to which DGS-4 said "Emma, I think mine did too." :rotfl:

D&D, the airport may just work out. Our flight is not until 1:55 but we are notorious about getting to the airport way ahead of schedule cause we are too worried about something going wrong. We are not frequent travelers.:sad2: Maybe we can just plan on being there plenty early for lunch and be sure to catch you. Not sure I would know how to find the POP. Is there any way to have guest services deliver a letter or package? We will just have to keep working on the plan.

Pikester, those husbands are just like naughty little kids, aren't they!?

whgrn, you would think your ex would have better things to do. Then again if he gets a big response from you you are probably really a lot of fun for his entertainment, right? I know my son thinks it hilarious when he can get a big shock reaction from me.

Shmu - Love the pics. The best part is.... Puny is not wearing Crocs and he is drinking Dr. Pepper!!!!:lmao: Gotta get those on his FB page. :thumbsup2

I must have been writing at the same time you were posting Shmu! Your photos are so cute. Just look at those 2 beautiful TKer gals! Glad ya'll got to have some fun together.

Here are my toothless boys. DS11's pic was taken when he was in first grade and DS7 taken last night. I just love those smiles:love:.

GREAT pictures Shmu!!!:thumbsup2

I have learned to play down my response to the ex. I won't steam in front of him. So he isn't getting the reaction he's looking for. Maybe that's why he keeps trying harder??

PRICELESS!!!!

Yeah pictures! When Shmu brought out her bag of goodies for Puny, I couldn't stop laughing...so creative and just a wee bit nutty. Perfect! I wonder what the other diners at Wolfgang Pucks were thinking as we brought the little guys out of our bags.

D&D...the boys are so adorable. Where did you get that little tooth pillow? For my Phils trip, I'm trying to coordinate with some friends on some sort of aid for the people affected by the flood. I'm not really sure what I can do or what I'll be doing, but I'd like to be able to help out in some way...

Wendy, I wouldn't doubt that the ex is trying to rile you up. Definitely something on that Y chromosome.

Ok, I'll throw my complaint in about BF. And this is a BIG ONE for me. We've fought several times about it. He doesn't say "bless you" or any sort of condolence when I sneeze. I find it so rude. He says he wasn't brought up that way, and I'm asking him to try and be polite when I sneeze. And I have BIG blow it out of everywhere sneezes. I just wish he said something when I sneezed....

Guess what I learned tonight? Wax paper and parchment are NOT the same thing. Although the wax paper box lied to me and claimed it was "great for baking", it smoked when I put it into the oven tonight. My smoke alarm went off (at least I know it works). I hope my cranberry scones come out ok. I did a quick transfer to some foil after I beat the heck out of the alarm until it shut up. :yay:

Oh Marie...I don't even want to think about my b*u*t*t after free dining!

Well, I've tried to check in with you all day something kept getting in the way. I spent the entire afternoon packing with my oldest daughter. I also went with my husband to buy a lawnmower. We only had one of those old-fashioned push mowers since our yard was so small. The new house has a much bigger yard and we had to up-grade. LOL

Pepper, I haven't had a chance to meet you yet but I'll say "Welcome Back" anyways. So, you write? That's so cool.

Marie, can I add to the things that my husband does to drive me crazy. Actually things that drive my oldest DD crazy. She's 13 and moody. I can usually read her moods but he can't. And he'll keep doing these little annoying things just to get to her. And sometimes, he forgets that she's a young woman and not up to the horseplay from when she was 6. So she gets annoyed and mad and in turn annoys me by complaining about her dad. Add in the fact that my husband finds the need to ask me every little thing, I swear I won't make it another year in this marriage. "honey, I'm going to take a shower now, OK?" "honey, I"m going to make something for lunch, OK?" Oh my, just do it and stop asking me!!!! LOL

D&DDisney, those pictures are just so precious. MY kids have always lost their teeth late so we should be getting some good pictures soon of my youngest.

Shmu, is Puny your mascot? I just found our itty-bitty Jack while packing today. Ahh, the memories since my youngest thought Capt. Jack was the greatest thing in the world.

Good morning ladies! The heavens opened last night and only a few minutes ago did it stop raining. Between the damp coldness and the fallen leaves, I have officially given up all hope of warmth until next spring. Time to switch out the cute shoes of summer and bring out the more substantial footwear of fall and winter.

And tights. Gosh, how I love tights. Its like a little bit of naughty but still covered up.

JOCA, goodness, to be a 13 year old girl again. Many blessings to you. My niece is 14 years old and I just don't get it. Why is she so moody? What is she upset about now? How can I take her seriously when EVERYTHING is a big deal? I hope this moment passes quickly for you. Lord knows, spending time with my niece surely takes everything out of me.

And although it may be annoying, at least your darling husband includes you in everything. But I can see how it can get annoying. For me, I have to ask what BF is thinking, because I cannot justify some of his doings. I'm like "really? and what made you think that was a GOOD idea?". Its not as snarky as it sounds. Sometimes I just don't understand his (what little there is) thinking.

Must...get....tea.....

Morning all:

Great pics...love Puny shot and D&D's sons are the cutest...love the toothless look...DD had it all last year...now she has BIG crooked teeth...ortho here we come!

Happy packing JO...new lawnmower, definitely a male toy!! We have a large yard so we have a riding John Deere...in 10 years I've never even learned how to start it!

Morning MK - Enjoy that tea!

Wendy - How Fiona doing? Thanks to you I know where Helena, Rapid City and a few more city are...at least I won't get lost if I ever venture south of the border:laughing:...which reminds me I better update my passport...it sucks that I now need one to go across now.

Hi to everyone else.:)

I'm off to put away food at the Food bank...they're overrun because of the Thanksgiving food drive.

Take care

Drizzly here again this morning. I looked out the kitchen this morning to see a mommy deer and her 2 little ones. She paused long enough to shake off some rain and then they were on their way.

D&D, great pics of your toothless boys!

Shmu or Kitty.... I lead a sheltered life. I may have asked before so please forgive me if it is a repeat question.... who is Puny? What is he from? I hate to go clueless the rest of my life!

Kitty, thanks for doing that experiment for me. I have always wondered if wax paper and parchment were the same. Thanks to you now I won't have to smoke up my kitchen. I do that enough already! :rotfl:
BTW, if you sneeze just let us know and we will offer you a bless you!
I just saw an ad for some fur lined flip flops! Do you suppose that is supposed to count as substantial footwear for fall and winter?

JOCAmom, congrats on the new lawnmower! We need to get a new one but I think we managed to put it off one more year.
Poor DD. Your DH just doesn't understand the sensitivity of female hormones, does he? Or maybe he does! Bad boy! :lmao: My DH also tells me every little thing. Sad thing is he has done it so long that it has rubbed off on me and I do it a lot too!

BKMETV, I am in the same boat with you. My DD's teeth have come in and are now a big crooked mess. Never had any experience with braces before. I can just hear her screaming and kicking all the way! Wonder at what age they start working on it?
So John Deere has been a good one, huh? Will have to pass that one along. I don't mow around here myself. First time he told me "how to do it" was the last time. His job is the mowing now and I try to keep up with the flowerbeds.
