Morning all:

Well we survived DH's birthday BBQ...make that me and kiddies did...last time I saw Tod he was arm & arm with his friend that flew in from CO...not sure who was holding up who...that was about 12 last night when I brought the kids home. I'm pretty sure someone won't be feeling very well today.

I was up bright and early because I'm babysitting my neighbour's new Golden Retriever puppy...Piper is 9 weeks old and just a little puff ball...Brody (my 3 yr old retriever) isn't sure what to think of her.

Hey Wendy! My DS11 was 9lbs 2oz, 21 inches and DS8 was 9lbs 8oz, 20 1/2 inches. The 8lbs 3oz, 21 inches I predicted for LITC is small to me! Oh, and they were both natural births, I was feeling really good but they still came out the natural way.

DS was 9 lb 1 oz and my little princess was 10 3 so I'm like you...8lbs is little...and I did lots of drugs!!

Can I play too? I am still pretty new, but I can kill a thread just by reading it! :rotfl:

Welcome!!

Well the kids are now up so I better get moving.

TTYL

Good morning! Brisk and beautiful here (the weather, not me :lmao:). Gorgeous Sunday morning, but since its a holiday weekend, no coupons in the paper! grrr! I need to go grocery shopping!

JOCA's mom...so are you moving because of the bad high school? Or are you just moving? Have you started getting ready yet? WIth school just starting, I'm sure you've been so so busy.

Things with the trip are going absolutely wonderful. You know when things are just too perfect? And you're like "really? how is this possilbe?" That's the stage I'm at right now. I'm like...I must be forgetting SOMETHING....

Marie, congrats on the ADR. We haven't gone to the one at AK, but we've been to others. I like their lettuce cups and of course their volcano cake! Where are you trying to get the Candelight ressie for?

Ev, Happy Birthday to DH and it sounds like you had a great party! Make pancakes for the birthday boy....always nice to a sicky tummy.

Oh! puppy! I love puppy breath. And they're just a ball of fur and energy. Too cute. Have fun babysitting!

Okay guys I know I disappeared again:eek: but at least this time it wasn't months. Lots going on since the 20th and I had to read to catch up. Still not done that so I have to go now hope to finish reading the rest later. Just wanted to start at least:laughing:.

Aaaaugh! Kitty, you have just thrown me into a deep depression! I don't even want to be reminded that Christmas is that close! Last time we went to DL in December I swore I would never do it again because the holidays just came and went too fast. But hear I am again with a trip planned in December. Couldn't resist the holiday season in the park! So now I gotta figure out how I am gonna get in a trip, decorate, shop, wrap and then pay for it all and not come out wondering what happened and where December went!
I wasn't in style in the 80s so I will probably be out of luck now too. Just give me a t-shirt and some comfy jeans. That's about as fashionable as I am gonna get. I have a pudgy equator too.

D&DDisney, we have the Lego invasion all over the floor at my place too. Darn those corners are sharp!

disney54us, I really did not want to sound condescending when I was telling you about right clicking with your mouse. Did you ever figure it out with the help of M&N's instruction? If not I will go into more detail. I am truly computer challenged myself but get so tickled when I learn something. I get even more pleasure when I can tell my DH how to do something on the computer but that only happens once in a blue moon.

LITC, good for you sticking to your guns and ignoring the person contacting you on Facebook. I have a couple I have accepted that I should have just ignored too but one is my sister in law and the other is her DD so I guess I felt like I had to accept. Nothing specifically about them I don't like. I just don't keep in contact with them much so don't really care for them seeing what I might decide to post. Anyway, at least you know that you don't care to talk to said person so really what would be the point of accepting them?

Well, that wasn't so bad.... I kept a tally... only 5 interruptions! So now I can post... 2-1/2 hours later!

Oh goodness Marie, I didn't think that at all. I and the TK'ers here always joke about how computer challenged I am (it's pretty bad:sad2:). I had to have my DS get my TK siggie and all that stuff. Oh and I have a Mac so no right clicking here. Sadly I think I still carry the title of TK'er most computer inept:confused3.
Ah this FB stuff is a challenge and good for you LITC for just not clicking yes. I get it about the inlaw's stuff. Same here my Sil and her daughter are on and now my other Sil just joined. But now my Bil and Father in law. :scared1:Okay what is this a FB family reniuon??? I am not overly close with them so I feel the same way, I don't want them seeing all my postings and friends. My TK friends who are on FB notice I don't ever mention the Dis boards I just will say "over there" or the other side. Don't need everyone in my business.

Where are all my friends? I imagine a lot of you are busily getting ready for school to start. I do hope it was a good day that kept you from me!

Ev, Muppets from Space rocks. I've always had a soft spot for Muppets, but that movie is awesome. Most of the music is Stevie Wonder or Earth, Wind, and Fire. I love Pepe the King Prawn! Its a more recent movie, so you'll recognize a lot of the suprise stars.

Ok, I have to brag a little. First, I have the most amazing boyfriend. He's wonderful for putting up with my zany ideas, crazy antics, insane planning. I love his laid back attitude and how he really doesn't care what I have up my sleeve.

All this praise is due to the AMAZING PLANNING DAY we've had. Boyfriend had a $25 credit with Hotwire, so we bit the bullet today and booked a room for our arrival night. We're arriving at 9:30, and are picking up our rental car the next day, so we needed an airport hotel with a shuttle. So we found a 4 star hotel on Hotwire for $52/night. With taxes, minus the credit, we paid $42 for the Hyatt Regency. Most of you know this hotel as the one in the airport! We've always talked about staying there, and now we are! :woohoo:

Great deal 2: called about La Nouba tix. Found out just make a reservation and pay at will-call day of show. Perfect! We are now reserved to see Cirque de Soleil! Awesome! With my AP discount (which the agent didn't know about, I had to correct her), we have two seats for $108!

Great deal 3: apparently September is also Magical Dining Month in Orlando. I made dinner reservations at Emeril's at Universal Citywalk for after we see BMG! And for the promo, its a $30 prix fixe menu! I have always fantasized about eating at Emerils, but they tell you to budget ~$100/pp....I could never do that. But for $60? Its a deal!

Great deal 4: finally cashed in my credit card points for my Sea World tickets. Two days at Sea World for free! Just have to find a way to get cheap parking....

This trip is really turning out to be a fantasy trip. I cannot beleive how blessed we are. Now I just need to get my BMG tix and we are all set. Doing the happy dance! :cool1:

:woohoo: Wow, I'm exchusted just reading that! Sounds great:cheer2:.

I don't know if this translates to Disney-speak, but in some circles, anything rainbow colors generally means gay pride.

It does translate to Dis speak... The rainbow is for gay pride.

Shore envy! Shore envy! Uncle Bills is one of my fav places--Pecan/banana pancakes---YUM! Kohr Bro ice cream---I have orange/van or banana! YUM! At least you didn't have Johnson's caramel corn! Then I would have been very jealous! You deserve a great time. So glad Dad's blood work is good...but after all you had us TKers praying for him. Try telling your mom that there a lot of people who need clothes and the ones she's not wearing would be put to good use. I did give some of mine to a church who sells things for a quarter to $1 to the people in their city neighborhood. My friend runs the closet. Some of my clothes I'm just afraid to get rid of...I know I'm a yo-yo weight person...but then I simply cannot gain it again. I can't count the times I lost some and gained more back! I have some pants 2 sizes down but that's about it.

Kitty---I think that's why I have a lot of shoes...they fit! Now I have a hard time finding nonsneaker shoes. I have sandal like dress shoes even for winter. And you should see all the socks I have---holiday ones too. But they will fit no matter.

I did sneeze 2 times while driving but feel ok now...I am tired after exercising though. They showed me some machines so I skipped the treadmill today.
Good news---I got a recorded message saying we can drink the water now. :yay: Too bad they didn't do one for NOT drinking the water. I'm sure they got lots of flack over that.

Happy belated Birthday!!!!!!!!!! Glad you can drink the water again.

I swear I think the first day of kindergarten was harder than graduation day!!! I cried like a baby both times.

I figured out who the facebook friends were. It was two of my childhood friends that I have not seen since the early 80's! One of them even had pics of all of us from back then...I must say I was adorable ha ha :rotfl:

Kitty, I don't have a friend request from you...send me one! I would love to be your "friend" ha ha.

I really need to figure out my FB friends/TK'ers I know I'm missing some of you. I cried like a baby at both too.

Good afternoon ladies.

BKMETV, it sounds like you came away from the birthday BBQ in better shape than DH.... unless you are the one you were talking about not feeling very well today.
So you have a Golden Retriever? I always wanted one but we ended up going with DH's choice of a German Shepherd because he thought it would be the most protective of the kids. Are Goldens very protective? DH has promised DD a puppy for her birthday next year so we are debating which breed. I imagine it will be another Shepherd but I wouldn't mind going with something smaller and with less hair. Our Tessie is long haired and I have to empty the vacuum twice every time I vacuum. I was so looking forward to the day of a hair free house and then DH had to come up with this idea. Too bad she won't just settle for a guinea pig or something small.

kitty, glad to hear that your planning is going really well for your trip.
I made my Candlelight Package ADR! I got on the phone this morning at 6:55. Had a 35 minute wait. I ended up with Dec. 5, Garden Grill at 3:35 for the 6:45 show. Not exactly the times I had wanted but we can work with it. I do think I will call back every so often to see if they might have any cancellations for the 8:15 show. We get to see Steven Curtis Chapman.
Hmmmm..... so pancakes are good for sick tummies? I never knew that.

disney54us, nice to see you back! Well at least you have people around you willing to offer you some help on the computer. Some day you will be able to look back and realize you have learned more than you thought. That's how I feel.... even though I still have so much I could learn... but at least I can stumble my way around and do the simple things I enjoy doing.
I don't have you as a FB friend yet. I would much rather have my TK buddies than some of those pesky relatives!

Howdy to everyone else! I hope everyone has a nice holiday tomorrow.

I read this on an e-mail today. I hope it makes some of you laugh. I know I did!

 disney54us! Nice to see you again! It seems everyone has been super busy with the start of school, end of summer, etc.

marie...congrats on your Candlelight ADR..and yes, just keep trying. It seems that things open up all the time. Goldens have HAIR. maybe not as much as your German, but if you're thinking hair fee, golden is not the way to go. But they are terribly loyal and wonderful with children. If you have your heart set on a golden, try to look for a golden rescue organization. A friend of mine got hers through a golden rescue, and he is just precious.

I've never eaten at Garden grill. In fact, I don't even know where it is! I know its somewhere in the land....what kind of food? Is it character?

Hey Taryn! Congrats on the ADRs! have you eaten at any of them before? I've eaten at CRT (lunch), Raglan Road (lunch), and Crystal Palace (dinner). Although we had a long, long wait for CRT, it was worth it! Just to say we ate inside the castle (which BF argued with me that we couldn't do) was fantastic. And the photo is involved. Here's a tip too...if you're going to get the Photopass...look at the back of the CRT photo...there'll be numbers there. You can add that to your photopass and get those pics too!

Raglan Road was really, really good food. One of our faves on the trip. We had an early lunch, and it was empty in there. Crystal Palace was lovely. Such a beautiful restaurant. Nice to pick food from a buffet, but I was so paranoid I'd miss the characters, I kept running back to the table! Not exactly a relaxing dinner, but the pictures were priceless.

I'm not sure if pancakes really are good for a yucky tummy...but when I'm not feeling so great, I want bland food and a plain pancake does it for me. But then again, there are no occassions in my world where a pancake won't make it better!

I figured out the darn iPod! I beat it down and got it to work. I am a tech princess!

Taryn, your children are great ages to go! You are going to have such wonderful memories. I'm excited for you! You said your Dad is going too--is it a big family trip?

I think some of the friends on here are going early December too...I'll have to figure it out...

There is NO WAY that I am getting old. My DH is going to be 40 January. I can totally believe that he is getting old but not me!
Hey...watch it on the 40 cracks!!!!! Forty is NOT OLD!!!!!!!!!

You guys are all so mean--wishing a HUGE baby on LITC!!! I think I was the only one under 8 pounds. Shame, shame on you all!!
No on is "wishing" a large baby for LITC. My DS was 9lb 8oz and my symptoms and LITC are very similar. It's amazing how big those babies can get w/o anyone wishing it.

Hi again. Thanks for the welcome. I don't think I've "killed" any threads on the Disboards yet. Is it still ok if I post here even if I don't meet the requirements?
Welcome back. We'll let the thread killer thing slide - for now. But you will be required to kill at least 1 thread during the hazing process. ;):rotfl2:

Can I play too? I am still pretty new, but I can kill a thread just by reading it! :rotfl:
:welcome: Glad to have ya aboard. We could use another TKer. Especially one that is west of the Mississippi. :lmao: The west is poorly represented here.

I made my second ADR online this morning! Rainforest Cafe, 6:15 on Dec. 3. I'm going to have to brave the phone line in the morning to try to get a Candlelight Package. Ya'll wish me luck!
Is that Rainforest Cafe part of the Disney Dining plan? That would be soooo cool if it was.

My parents are meeting us there. When I found out I was pregnant with DS my Mom said that they would pay for his first trip to Disney if they could come with us. Not a bad deal. We decided to wait until now because we want them both to be able to enjoy it. I am so excited that I am not sure how I will make it through the next three months!

Okay...I have a small rant to get off my chest.
Yesterday was my mom's birthday. She had originally wanted my brother, sister and I (plus families) to all get together. Well, my sister, in all her brilliance, decides that she needs to remain the center of my mom's universe and so she announces that she is taking mom out for a surprise birthday outing. Well, my brother and I, not wanting to cause a fight or anything, do not put up a fuss and let dear ol' sis take her out. Now we're thinking she has something special planned. Maybe some bonding one-on-one time. Yah, right! Turns out she took my mom to a surprise birthday party that some relatives had planned for her at their house. And, neither my brother nor I was invited. :headache: That little
10.gif
!!!!! We trusted her and once again, she has to somehow show us both up.
So...fast forward to today. It is my niece's birthday party. (Sis' kid) Brother and I show up to party only to find out all the WONDERFUL details of where my sis took mom. Now, mom feels terrible cause she didn't know and that her other kids weren't invited to HER OWN PARTY.
18.gif
How can one person be so self centered, self absorbed and and mean to her own family? :sad2: And I can't confront her on this because she will make a huge stink, start swearing like a drunken sailor (and my appologies to drunken sailors ) all in front of the kids. (She's done it before. Many times back when my dad was dying.)
What did I do to belong to a family like this???:sad2:

Good morning! Its a crisp morning here...totally justifies my steaming cup of coffee right now....

Taryn, that thread was amazing! Truly, if I had lost my purse and everything in it, I probably would have conceded defeat and just cried. So exciting and so heartwarming! And how wonderful for your parents to share the Disney trip with you! I'm sure you'll appreciate the extra set of hands and the pictures. Just keep working on your trip....I know three months seems like so far away, but it isn't! Especially with the holidays and such coming up. Before you know it, you'll be walking down Main Street USA!

D&D...I'm sorry about your sister's shenanigans. Sounds unreal! Did your sister forget that she's your mother too? Some people just don't get it, and its really sad for everyone involved. Whenit comes to family, too, its hard to justify some actions. These are the people who are supposed to be with you through thick and thin. Just sounds like its your sister's head that's the thick one!

I haven't been sleeping well lately. Sounds strange I know, but I like to close my eyes at 11:23 every night. I'm usually up by 6:33. (internal clock, I've never used an alarm). Lately, though, my clock has me getting up at 5:49. I need that extra half hour! I just can't go back to sleep, so I may as well get up and do stuff. Traditionally, I'm not a great morning person, but maybe I've turned a corner and am becoming one?

Let's have a good day everyone! Still scouting better rental car rates, coz that's all I really have left to play with for my trip!

Really? 9am on a holiday Monday and such snarkiness????

Sorry, on the transportation board, trying to discuss the lack of food options for a late arrival/early departure at MCO. People are just nit-picking today. Just gets me mad. Good thing I've been on the board a while and not totally turned off by the attitude of some posters. Just because you're not a newbie, doesn't mean you can't have tolerance for someone who is and maybe has a different experience. Ugh. Some people!

While I'm in a complaining mood, I'm having the darndest time with Delta. I'm an elite customer of Korean airlines, which is partnered with Delta. So when I fly Delta, I can earn miles on Korean. I've been asking Delta if there are reciprocal benefits when flying with them, like waived baggage fees and priority boarding. No one seems to know the answer. Customer service just goes by rote memory and doesn't actually consider what I'm asking and keeps passing me off to another department. I'm fairly positive I get two free bags, but I'd hate to ge there and have to shell out the money.

OMG D&D that is AWFUL! Poor you (and DBro and DMom) I wish I had an answer for you. I am so grateful that my siblings are NOT like this at all. We work together very well, and would never dream of undermining each other.

As far as what you did to belong to the family--look at it this way: at least your poor mother has 2 decent kids out of 3. Maybe that's your purpose?

Sorry MK, but those times are just WEIRD!!!:lmao: And it certainly sounds like you are not getting enough sleep. What if you closed your eyes at, say, 10:41 instead? That would make up for the lost morning sleep...

Going over to check out the thread Taryn posted. BTW, Welcome Taryn!

OMG I just read the entire thread. WOW! Just reduced me to tears. There really ARE still good people out there.

Happy Labor Day Everyone.

Sorry D&D about your Sis.:scared1: I have had my SIL's do that sort of thing to me. They want me to do the Big holidays at my house every year (one of the main reasons we now go to WDW for Christmas) but, when they have "family" get together they 'forget' to invite me or my Mom sometimes both. We finally said last year that enough was enough. Mom said to them, "It's all or nothing" and to quit being such B's.

So TK'rs where would you eat if you were me?

I have about 12 days before my ADR window opens and I don't have a clue as to what/where to go for meals. :confused3 I am one of those people that don't know what they want to eat until they are hungry and it drives DH nutz.

We think we may do DDP for a change and just eat Breakfast/snacks at the Villa. Not knowing if Free Dining is such a great time to test this out though. Does it make a difference if the reservation is OOP or DDP?

I don't know if I want to do CP this year.
Last year they were begging people to come in to watch it but it was really cold that night. Whoppi is there our fist couple of nights and Brian Dennehy(sp) the rest. This isn't a must do because I hate to spend another 2 TS credits for it.

We are at the Boardwalk so I figure Epcot TS are good but we can go anywhere really. I've never been to DTD ever.
DD wants to eat at LTT once and I would like to try for Cali once. Any other suggestion? We went to WhisperCanyon (meh) last Christmas Eve but maybe Cali this year?
We've been to LeCeiler before for lunch and it was good but maybe a dinner would be too?
What are some of ya'lls favorites? Is Beirgarten good? We have Hopper passes and can go to any park fairly easily. What about the place in Japan, is it fun?
We'd might like to try the new place on the Boardwalk since DD loves Greek and you know how DH and I feel about wine.:thumbsup2 if anyone goes first let me know.
What about the Park Fair(?) at the GF for dinner?
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. I will know more about what parks I will be in if that would help in ya'll giving advice.

Are their any really good CS's ya'll suggest too?
