I've seen some older children sitting in the bucket with some sort of material cover. What really gets me is when a parent isn't looking and the kid leans over and gnaws on the handlebar! Ugh, so gross!

I've seen a lot of people really overwhelmed by their children in stores and the kids are just in not the most hygenic situations in the cart.

Those clips are really made to secure the car seat into a "base" that is strapped into your car. They just happen to be about the right size to clip onto the shopping cart. Having the car seat up there throws off the center of gravity.

You should put the car seat in the basket part or carry the baby in a sling. Slings are great because it keeps both your hands free and the baby close.

And when they get older and are able to sit in the seat part of a shopping cart, they sell fabric covers that you can put over the seat area.

Edward turned me onto this show on Lifetime called Drop Dead Diva. Its so cute. Kinda like a soft version of Ally McBeal. Its kinda mindless harmless entertainment. At its heart, its about a model "born again" in a bigger girl body and adjusting. The bigger girl looks fantastic and has love and friends. Its a feel good show. And its got Margaret Cho, who always makes me laugh.

I never saw it Kitty...if it gives you the giggles, enjoy it!
I still have mu nightie on-glad no cameras here-so I had better get in the shower so I can get something done. I think I'm getting Debbie out this afternoon. She's going stir crazy sometimes.

I have to get out and do errands this afternoon. Fridays are just too crazy around here with the summer/weekend people. The grocery store is insane. Its like an invasion-and the parking lot is a war zone. You have to be really careful out there, people drive too aggressively (which is saying a lot from me!)

Enjoy your afternoon and don't forget to bring an umbrella, just in case.

I haven't seen it either but then I keep the tv off while the kids are in school.

M&N, you have fun today.

Liv's home? She's not feeling better? Tell that darling to eat up and feel better soon! You enjoy too JO. I'll see you later. I'm going to throw some laundry in and run out....

MK, she's only in Kindergarten so she goes 1/2 day. Both her and Alexis are a year behind to most people. But emotionally, they have done better being older.

She is feeling much better and complaining she can't go swimming. It's getting windy and storms will be here soon.

I have only watched Jon & Kate Plus Eight a couple of times. I don't like Kate and now don't care for Jon either. Poor kids. I will not be watching her new show. I have weaned myself off reality shows (except Biggest Loser).

MagiKitty Sorry to hear about Edward's predicament. Hopefully he will find a new place quickly. :goodvibes

Hello ladies! I am so happy that today's workday is over. Still have one tomorrow but hoping I have more fun. Today was 3rd graders and tomorrow will be Kinders.

I use to watch Jon & Kate but after a while it just seemed like the same carp but different day. Kids fighting, Kate being snotty at Jon, going to places most people can't afford let alone bring 8 kids to. Same old, same old.

I am such a horrible MOM! I use to put the cart seat on top of the cart all the time. So happy my kids survived it!

Hey JO, I finally watched Hell's Kitchen the other night. Loved the big liplock!

Let's see, was there anything else I wanted to comment on. My brain is fried so I'll have to think about it.

Hey Fried Brain---Is that what happens when you have your own son in class? :lmao:

No storms here yet...but weatherman says we will get one...probably not cause I did not water my bushes...

Evening ladies. It hasn't rained here yet, but the forecaster is desperately trying to freak us all out with his gloomy "stormchaser" segments. Boo on him.

I have to buy a lawn mower tomorrow. I have no idea what I"m doing, but if I don't kill the one I have right now, its going to kill my father. Its not that old either, its just a dud. I'm going to Lowes and hoping to figure out what exactly makes a good mower.

My BF is a little spooked right now and may be coming over to the dark side. He actually said "your powers did it again". We had this strange talk last night about Rue McClanahan and then today she passed. I have a strange habit of talking about something and then it happens or it comes around somehow. And usually I don't tell people about it, but people notice these things.

There's this funny story....some friends came up to me and asked if I were fighting with my then BF Ashley (yes, go ahead and giggle). I told the that yes, I was really PO'd at him at the moment. Then my friends went ahead and said that they were walking behind him after class and they SWEAR THIS HAPPENED, Ash's backpack unzipped itself and his laptop committed suicide. Ash came over later and apologized and we were all better.

M...did you go out with your friend?

Pike, you survived another day! Congrats!

Holy Cow (or should I say buffalo??) There's too much to catch up on.

I'm going to Atlantic City on Sunday/Monday...will you come touch my slot machine??? Pleaasseeee. :rotfl:
That sounds kinda personal. :rotfl2:

The only machine I walk away with $400 from is the ATM.
Wow...I think the most I ever got from an ATM at one time is $200.

That just doesn't sound right.
:lmao: I knew Pike would pipe up on this one. :lmao:

I don't think it was from rubbing my tummy. ;) :rotfl:
But I bet it started that way!!!! ;)

Had my pre-op app't today...ran through the allergies and the don't drink after midnight...took some blood and did an ECG. Then Mom took my sis and I out to lunch so it wasn't too bad of a day.
Hope all goes well Ev!

Debbie and I went out. I had to go to the Post Office. Then we drove to Hershey and over to find the hotel...it's there! Very easy to find and it took about 10 min...not bad. I could not find a grocery store so we'll need to use one in Hershey I guess...same with the other store you need. Then we went to the store for her and ate at a local dinner. I had an omlet with feta cheese. tomatoes, onions, and green pepper---YUM! When I took her home I went in with her to help her read her blood count and see if she was getting the right number on her shot. The dr said she could go out to the Pittsburg area with her hubby to visit relatives this weekend. She said she was having headaches some. Thinks it's the strain of trying to see...but the dr did say a side affect of her meds was headaches. I told her to keep her eyes shut on the drive...and to make sure her hubby tells her when they are going through the tunnels on the turnpike so she'll know it's not her eyes---she laughed. Otherwise she seems to be doing ok...but she said she does get depressed. Her insurance had to be put with her hubby's now and it over 500 a month! And she has no job!

Well Kitty---we know how you are...fall in love with a melon and then eat him! You're like the black widiw spider! :lmao: I love pigs but am not giving up my pork bbq!
Amen! I couldn't give up meat if I tried.

.
I like to believe my meat and chicken were born wrapped in butcher paper or plastic wrap..
Same here. Can't see or "meet' my food before I eat it.

Well, they did come over for dinner....(insert evil laugh here).
Um...not sure I want to room with you any more!!!:scared1:

I'm no longer going to Miami next weekend with Edward. While disappointed, I feel worse for him. The condo he's been renting has been foreclosed on! Now he's going to use his vacation time to scramble for a new place to live. Poor dear.
Poor guy! :sad2:He's such a nice guy too. Prayers for him.

MK, you have a great afternoon too.

I have to go make Livvie some lunch.
Hope she's doing better.

I have to buy a lawn mower tomorrow. I have no idea what I"m doing, but if I don't kill the one I have right now, its going to kill my father. Its not that old either, its just a dud. I'm going to Lowes and hoping to figure out what exactly makes a good mower.
I'm not an expert, but I believe my DH always says...
Get self-propelled so you don't have to push so hard.
Get big back tires to go over all terraine (sp?)
Get a good engine not just a generic mower. Will last longer even if you have to pay slightly more.
Oh, and I think he'd say one with more power (a man thing you know ) But that's not really needed.

Good Luck with the mower

No word from Dr yet on my ultrasound. Will try again tomorrow.

Hi to everyone I might have missed.

I'm off to eat dinner. We're having sour cream chicken w/ rice today.

Thanks for the advice on the mower D! I'm hoping to con a cute Lowes worker to help me out and point out the ones with a good engine and power.

M...please tell your friend that she and her family are still in my prayers! And to invest in some good sunglasses for the long drive in the car. Both stress and intense sunlight I'm sure are adding to the headaches. But have a safe and happy trip to her!

That omelet does sound yummy. I love cheese so much.
