So Kitty---was People inside the other magazine? Did you take it to the bathroom with you? Look under your pillow? How about in the recycle bin? Just giving you dumb suggestions! I am totally with you on loosing/misplacing things. The do turn up in the strangest places...sometimes where I already looked...just didn't go far enough in the pile. :confused3

JO--A little guilt on dh's part???

I'll be happy with a $90 one way to Orlando! Haven't looked yet.

Hey M! No, the magazine hasn't shown up yet. I did take Pepper's advice and check the freezer, just in case. I don't know where else to look. It'll show up when its good and ready, I guess.

I misplace things in this house so often, it isn't even funny anymore. I hope the magazine turns up for you.

I just walk around looking, telling myself-out loud many times-how stupid I am! And no one disagrees with me! :lmao:

While I am annoyed by losing a magazine I haven't read, its the principle that I can lose things so easily!

I kinda feel bad that I blamed the cats, but its easier to blame them than myself.

Evening ladies:

We're in Cortez CO tonight...it clear but cool...going down to 35*F tonight...thank god there heat in this thing. I can't wait to head down to Sedona tomorrow to the 80*F weather. The trip has been great so far except for dd who keeps saying she's bored. She's driving DH nuts.

Next a window kept popping up that said Stack overflow at line: 29. As soon as I either closed it or hit ok it would pop back up. I was finally able to close fb. I'm afraid to go back there...:confused3

I had that tonight as well so came over here instead.

Thanks Ev for checking in! I don't even know WHERE Pike's peak is, but I can pretty much assure you that its something I wouldn't enjoy...I"m not that great with heights. BUt I would like to visit a lot of the national landmarks one day. I just don't want to do all that driving! LIke MOunt Rushmore. Really would love to see it, but how do I get there? Can I go for just a few hours---or do I have to make an entire vacay out of it?

Pike's Peak is south of Denver near Colorado Springs...over 14,000 feet...I was up it 11 years ago and was dizzy (well more dizzy than normal ) but this time because of the weather the very top was closed...there are no guard rails so it's quite the hair-raising drive. :scared1:

Hi Ev! Did you take pictures of the motor home? How are you finding driving it? Is it fun? (except for DD who's bored....)

I blame the kids.

There is a pic of the outside of the motorhome on FB, I haven't got any of the inside downloaded from the camera yet...I'm sure it's great to drive, but I haven't been ALLOWED to yet. DH is a lousy passenger. I have told him I want a chance tomorrow when we're driving through northeast AZ where there's nothing but desert. Today we went through the Red Mountain :scared1: hairpin turns, no guard rails, up and down mountain passes...Discovery channel has an episode about it on their "Scariest Rides" show so of course we had to try it!

Hey Ev. I still think Red Mountain sounds like a blast. Maybe in a cute little red convertible. :car:

When do you get to Vegas?

Tod kept saying he wished he was on his Harley. There were a couple of points were I shut my eyes...made DS sit in the front with his Dad.

We get to Vegas Monday...fly out Wed a.m.

A Harley would be good too. I'll have to talk to Curt's ex stepmom about area. It's her and her daughter, Curt's sister, that we are going to visit next year in Colorado.

You mean I have to wait until Monday for the Vegas reports?

yup...

As for the main thing about Colorado is boxes of Dramamine!!

I'm off.

Night.

M&N, I have a question for you. I was just looking at the kids' school calendar and they have to go till June 21st, a Monday. They have to make up some snow days. But their last 2 days of school are half days.

Is that because once they have been in school for so many hours, it counts a full day? And once they get the requirement in, they are just dismissing the students?

I think the state goes by hours in. Not sure. I remember we were once told though that it could be counted as a day during the strike if the kids came and attendance was taken...so I'm not really sure. I know when we had half days they would not just let teachers work in our rooms. We had to be doing something like going over test scores, planning, writing curriculum, discussing lessons. I think the end of school is stupid. Grades have to be in several days before so what's the use?

Did I remember to ask if you knew what was in the Virgin music store in DD?

Good morning ladies! Another completely different day weather wise. While yesterday was cold and dreary, its already bright and sunny. I have hopes yet for warm weather.

Ok, why are there NOT guardrails on those roads, Ev? You're a better woman than me, I would not want to drive a motorhome. I'd be chilling in the back.

Woo-hoo...Vegas baby!

I know here, if the kids are in school for three hours, its considered a full day. I learned this when there were talks about snow days. A lot of times they've had to dismiss early, but they couldn't until the kids were in school at least three hours. But if the lunch periods had started, like in high school where there were three, they had to finish all three lunches before everyone was sent home.

I agree, the last week of school is just a waste of time. They should have two full days of mirth and merriment and send them on their way. Its just inconvenient to have a weeks of half days and activities.

OMG...Lost was so good last night!

Let's have a good day everyone! Keep enjoying that vacay Ev and be safe!

Morning! It finally stopped raining and the sun is almost out here. I hope the rain is done for a while because I am tired of it.

MK, that's kinda how it worked at out old school district. They had to be dismissed either before or after lunch. If it was before lunch, it didn't count as a day of school. And once lunches were started, they had to finish every grade before they could be dismissed.

So I was looking more closely at the school calendar and it's only the youngest 2 that have early dismissal on those 2 days. And the oldest have to go a day longer too. Why do they have to make this so complicated?

So, the school year is scheduled to end on June 21, but you may have to add more days for snow makeups? Will that affect your family's arrival that Wednesday? I know I'm planning to arrive around lunchtime. And we have to hit the stores to pick up some groceries....

My internet has been all wonky this morning. Weird coz its actually sunny outside. I don't get it. But I won't complain too much.

That is what it is doing here today. According to the weatherman (whom usually couldn't predict his *** from his elbow) we are suppose to be getting an AWESOME stretch of weather starting tomorrow and into Monday. Temps in the 70s to 80s and lots of sunshine. I'm assuming that the weather has to go through PA and NY so JO, M&N and Magi should be getting it too.

Ev: I would have had my eyes closed the whole time with a little of this

and a little of this

thrown in for good measure.

JO: School days are weird here too. I know when I sub a half day it is from 8AM to 11:30AM. DS12 and DS9 schools count days missed differently on their report cards. Lets say DS12 will miss 5 days while DS9s days are listed as 10 days but they don't actually hold the 10 days against the kid as it's really only 5. Totally freaking confusing! I called the very first time I saw the report card like that. They explained it to me but I don't remember what the reasoning was. As long as my kid isn't in any kind of trouble they can keep track any way they want.

Magi: Did you find your mag? I haven't watched Lost in so long. We were really into it for a couple of seasons and then we just felt....wait for it....lost.
