MK, they were suppose to get out on the 15th. The younger ones will go until the 21st now and the older ones till the 22nd. DD7 is in kindergarten and for their last 2 days, both the am and pm kids will go in the morning. I don't get it and I probably never will.

Pikester, I see you are getting our lovely weather from yesterday. And that is way too confusing about the days missed. Why not just mark the actual days missed and be done with it?

Yes, the weatherperson did predict that there may be showers this afternoon, but like your guy, Pike, he's horribly unreliable, so I'm hoping that he's wrong on this count.

I do hope they have a parent orientation by the time my kids go to school. It sounds so darn complicated!

No magazine. I'm just going to deal with the fact that I had a blank moment and put it somewhere that I'll never find it....

Hello fellow TKers.

Sad news on my end, not going to make it to Hershey this June. Just went to the orthodontist for the first time in about 8 years and found out the estimate for braces and we're going to have to not go to Hershey in order to afford it. *sad face*

On a brighter note, its kite day at work tomorrow. Excited to go outside and fly kites with the kids, looks like its going to be gorgeous out tomorrow. So happy that everything has been going so well lately.

Anywho, how are all of you guys?

Hello!
MagiKitty Since you were blaming the cats, did you check their litter box? :rotfl: I'm sure the magazine will turn up eventually.
lilmiss Sorry about the braces but it'll be worth it in the end.

Since I grew up in So Cal there was no such thing as a snow day. No experience at all with extra days at the end of the school year.

Washed the car..we'll see how long before it rains. We should be good until July. ;)

Its gotten cloudy and looks like the rain is coming. Yuck.

Mere, sorry to hear that you'll have to change your vacation plans. But you're being smart and prioritizing your braces and its costs. They do cost a lot of money! I have a space in my front teeth that I've always wanted to get fixed, but it was just one of those things that I put off.

Hey DL! I didn't check the litter box, but I may have to. Congrats on getting the car washed. I've given up on that (although I may make the Kittymobile nice for next months trip) since our weather has been so insane. And the weather has not been warm enough yet for a good washing.

Hey everyone,
Been gone for a few days. We've had strep go through the house and DS12 is finally feeling better. Then DH and I were sick. Luckily not strep - YET. And the weather has been sooo perfect. 70s and sunny.

M&N, I have a question for you. I was just looking at the kids' school calendar and they have to go till June 21st, a Monday. They have to make up some snow days. But their last 2 days of school are half days.

Is that because once they have been in school for so many hours, it counts a full day? And once they get the requirement in, they are just dismissing the students?

In WI we have to have 180 days of school. We can count it as a full day if we go through lunch. (Like a few others mentioned). I can also count days were the students come in for "face to face" - otherwise known as conference days. Crazy I know, but at least I got all our days counted for next year, on the calendar. Luckily this year we had NO snow days.

You had NO snow days? Really? In Wisconsin? You have just rocked my world.

Sorry, I was so stunned that I forgot to say that I hope the sickies are gone from your house and you are all on the road to recovery and good health!

I was surprised when Darling fiance Ben agreed with me on getting my braces and just going to Hershey this fall or later in the summer. Thought for sure he would want to go to the world of chocolate more. It really did make me feel good to know that he cares so much. Luckily, I'm really happy with the office that I'm going to be going to. They're really wonderful there and I went there when I was bout 12 or 13 in 2002 and the ortho STILL remembered me! Have no idea how...but he did. Scary...

Yeah...real bizzarro world here this year. :upsidedown

What a sweetie!

Mere, you and your fiance sound like you have a really good stable relationship. You are both very lucky to have found each other. And yes, there will always be time to go to Hershey later on!

So JO....when are we going to do more trip planning??? I'm getting a little anxious reading all these TRs and hearing Ev's updates. :hyper:

OMG....just realized that the kids will be home for summer in 16 days!!!!:scared1: I better start signing them up for stuff.

uh-oh D...you better get planning for that too!

Yeah for trip planning!

I'm working on my weekend trip to Kansas. BF threw the gauntlet and said I have to pick three things I want to do. I want to see the Barbie exhibit at the Toy Museum, the dinosaur exhibit at Union Station, and I have one more....he has to figure out all the logistics with meeting his family. I'm staying out of THAT!

Greeting from beautiful (and warm) Sedona Arizona:

Just sitting on my patio (ie concrete slab) and enjoying a Mike's Hard Margarita YUM!

Just a quick hello since I should probably start planning dinner.

Ok, why are there NOT guardrails on those roads, Ev? You're a better woman than me, I would not want to drive a motorhome. I'd be chilling in the back.

Woo-hoo...Vegas baby!

Let's have a good day everyone! Keep enjoying that vacay Ev and be safe!

Then they wouldn't be able to make t-shirts saying "I survived the Ride - No guard rails." In fact CO doesn't seem to do guard rails much at all guess they figure you'll be real careful because of the drop off!

We have snow days...mind you none this past winter...but don't have to make them up at the end of the year.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

D&D, ummm, what is there left to plan? Park days....check. ADR's....check. I guess we could search through the menus and pick out the drinks we want to try. Or we could be true disers and co-ordinate our outfits? Or maybe we can plan how we can ditch our hubbies with the kids and go tour the monorail?

Mere, good men are hard to find. Make sure you hold on to yours, he sounds fantastic. And Hershey will always be there.

Ev, sounds like you are having such a blast. I wish I was in sunny Arizona right now.

Plan which characters to get photo with.
What topics of conversation you will use in which line---talk about refilling last year's mug, pool hopping, getting youngest in free although bday was in March.
Which color of clogs you will wear to which park.
When you can brag about cheap air fare.

We can't talk about pool hopping, refillable mugs, lying about the kid's ages, inserting lifts into DD7's shoes so she can ride Rock N Roller Coaster, and how all 9 of us are in one room to save money unless there are other disers around. I might even wear my special Disboards t-shirt. I want to make sure they all know I am a member here. :rotfl:

And just to make sure that we get the attention that we deserve, I'm bringing Flarp (it's a silly putty type toy in a small container. When you squish it down in the container, it farts....very, very loudly) for my kids to play with in line.

You have to do something so we can read about you here...

I'm sure you'll find at least one thread about us while we are gone. :rolleyes1 And when you do, you better copy and paste them into an email for me. :lmao:
