Ok, so I have my first mystery shopper assingments. I have to go to two different groceries and talk to associates and make a few purchases. I'll get reimbursed up to $11 at a time. I figured I have to run out and get stuff anyway and I may as well work while doing it. Plus, I love to write complaint letters if necessary. I have to shop either the meat, deli, or produce aisles. Perfect coz I was planning to make pork chops anyway!

If only..........my mom is going to the wedding alright, but my sister has her renting a room at the hotel so she (my mom) can take the kids up at bedtime and she and her husband can enjoy the wedding. WTH??? So basically, my mom is just their personal babysitter. It seems as though the rest of your immediate family is going so I think I would just suck it up and make an appearance. It could a wonderful time for you to spend some time with your mom.
Just go with what your heart is telling you though. You can never go wrong that way.
I already had it out with my mom on this one. I asked her why she'd want to leave HER OWN RELATIVES wedding early just to watch sis's kids. I could never ask my mother to do something like that. If my infant niece needs to go to bed early, just bring a stroller to the hall or GO HOME EARLY!!!!
The free alcohol is the only thing sweetening the deal right now.I agree....go with low expectations. Worst thing, they meet them.
And being family, you'll probably get the insider ticket. Get to see all the meltdowns. those are always the best.
And there's alcohol, right? free alcohol?!
I am almost to that age and can't wait to get there.Sounds like I'm with LITC on this one...no amount of free alcohol will make up for a horrible night with people I hate. I'm past the age with I care what people think one way or the other.

God I love ya LITC!!!OK and as for my evil opinion:
My first thoughts were
1. Just dont go screw it, if they threw that other party with out you, they will manage this one without you and you will be happier.
2. (My favorite) RSVP yes, (so they have to pay for the food at the reception) then don't show.
3. Go (for food and free drinks) and don't bring a present.
4. Go and spill red wine on the bride.
OK FLAME ME, I know I am an awful person.....
You made my day! Sloppy drunk...Now out of your list....I would do 3 & 4. And I would eat a ton of food and drink enough alcohol to make the reception fun. But make sure you spill the wine before you have a lot of alcohol. Don't want anyone whispering that you are a sloppy drunk.![]()
I have a rockin' recipe for sweet potatoes. I'll go look it up and post. It is a total hit at TG. Just don't look at it's calorie count or nutrient value.I have absolutely no recipes for Thanksgiving. I'm usually in charge of the ham and some potatoe dish. And I have no luck with anything sweet potato, which is cruel because I love it so!

It just makes me hungry. We are thinking of just going out for Tday. DH doesn't care for most of the traditional items and doesn't really like leftovers either.
