The trip went great. I still hate the Atlanta airport, almost missed the connecting. But arrived in Kansas unscathed and we went straight to the casino, where we had a free room booked. It was a really nice room! We ate at the buffet and gambled for a bit. We did pretty well, BF and I do much better gambling separately. We came out a few hundred on top.
The next day we tried to go to Noodles and Co for a promotional free lunch. It was a madhouse and left to go to Cheesecake Factory. No pumpkin cheesecake yet! Darn! We also went to the cider mill to have fresh donuts and cider. We brought a dozen to BF's sister and family and had dinner there. The girls are getting so big and are excited for Halloween.
We went to the Zoo the next day which was lots of fun. We were sitting and eating ice cream (we had gorgeous weather the entire time we were there) when it actually came out of my mouth--this would be a great place for a wedding. And BF didn't freak out--he said, "you want to?" and then I freaked out. No, we didn't get married, but if we did, looks like we'd share an anniversary with LITC and Pike!
Finally had the infamous Kansas City barbecue and it was GOOD! Also had frozen custard and that was really really good too.
Convinced BF it would be in his best interest to walk off all the barbecue calories in the mall. I didn't get very much, but found a ton of shirts for BF at Macys on clearance. Aeropostale also had some good sales.
Also went to the Toy and Miniature museum, which I've been trying to see. They had a special 50th anniversary Barbie exhibit. They had the German Lili doll--the inspiration of the Barbie doll. I had never seen one before so it was really exciting for me!
Night before we left, went to a different casino. I only brought home a little bit, but BF did great! I told him that he should put the money away for a "special occasion" fund. HINT HINT.
As I said before, yesterday's flight was a 6am. NEVER AGAIN. We had to leave by 4am an that just hurt.
