Hello! Welcome to the weird and wacky world of the Tkers. Oooo, wait, that's just me that's part of that. The others' are quite normal. :lmao:

I am???

That's the nicest thing you ever said to me!!!

Nope, actually I need to change my screen name :)

We decided to save the money and just decided to wait til we got some things paid off.

I'm in Texas and preparing our trip to Disney in May. We are going for Christmas but the trip is pretty much already taken care of.

We're staying at OKW in a one bedroom Dec 23 - 29th.

Then in May we are using our DVC and staying May 14 - 23rd. I complete my Bachelors Degree in March and I wanted to go back to celebrate. :)

I know getting married there is expensive...don't blame you...use the money elsewhere. You can still enjoy the magic. We have other TKers here from Texas. Sounds like you are a Disney pro. I have friends in Orlando so I can go cheap!

Ok, Disneywedding2010, you need a shorter name. How about DW2010?

I went to visit another tker at OKW a couple of years ago and it was so beautiful. I really liked it there and if we were to ever buy into DVC, that's the place I would want as my home resort.

And M&N, I always say nice things about you. :rolleyes1

The last few times we've gone we've drove. On the way home in February I told my fiance (Alan) "No more! I can't do this. My leg can't handle it."

My late husband, daughter, and I were involved in a head on collision with a drunk driver in 2008. He and my daughter were killed on impact. A few weeks later doctors discovered I had a blood clot in my leg. Well its been 2.5 years and lots of blood thinners and the clot is gone. However, I still have issues with standing for long periods or walking long distances. I have a handicap placard for my car for this reason. I also have a wheelchair at home that ironically enough ONLY gets used when we make trips to Disney.

So, after that long car ride in February I now have said, "Now we fly.. I can't handle 20+ hours in a car." I'd get out and walk around but it would make the trip THAT much longer.

This is our 8th thread. MagiKitty started us...she was feeling ignored on threads...so she started one about that and others have just joined in. We discuss all kinds of stuff. Just jump in whenever. Kitty is away right now. We have maybe 6 or 7 who post regularily and others who just pop in whenever. We make them check in every now and then!

Our home resort is BLT.

We stayed at SSR in July of 09 and then BLT in February of this year. Christmas we are staying at OKW and BCV in May. I'm trying to hit each one at least once before I double back.

I guess it's about 19 hrs from here but I never drove in 1 day...and I don't have bad legs! I have been flying lately. It save so much time. It's only about 2 hrs 10 min with a direct flight. My mom usually goes along too but she's not a Mickey lover like I am.

We have a lot of fun when we go. Its just never gotten old to me. My fiance is getting burned out. So the deal I made with him was we'd take our two trips next year and then take 2012 off. I'll just bank our 2012 points into 2013 and take one big trip in 2013.

The September trip had been planned since this February. The May trip was just brought into the picture about a month ago. I've been in college since March of 2006. I wanted something to celebrate this momentous occasion. DF agreed to it but asked me 'Can we take a break, please?" So I agreed cause I didn't want him to get burned out and then never want to go to Disney with me again :lmao:. Plus we talked tonight and even when 2013 rolls around instead of going back to the parks we're going to take a cruise.

I don't even know what to say except

We drive to Disney every time we go. It's 6 of us so airfare is just way too much. We do take our time and stretch the drive into 2 days. We've gotten to the point that we don't have to rush to get there. And we are very lucky that the kids are good car travelers.

I'm just working on getting to all the regular resorts before we could even think about DVC.

We usually drive from our house to Pensacola which takes about 10 to 11 hours. We stay the night in P-Cola and then get up and finish the rest of the trip which is about another 8 hours. It can vary at times depending on how many times I have to stop and walk around.

Did you ever go to Sea World or Universal?
Have you gone to the Food and Wine festival or the Flower festival? They are different and offer different things? I like both of them. And of course Christmas is so special. Is it a Disney cruise? I did a 3 day one. See--it does pay to have friends in Orlando who are cm's!

Gotta head to bed. I have to get up with the kiddos for school tomorrow. So glad it's Friday. I really need to sleep in.

M&N, see ya Sunday.

DW2010, nice chatting with you and hope you stick around.

If he like NASCAR--Daytona is fun. I also enjoyed going to the Space Center.

Night JO---if I don't chat tomorrow, see you on Sunday! NO RAIN!

I need to head off too.

Please pop back DW! I go to mom's every weekend so I cannot post then. She's almost 80 and does not have the connections there!

I've not done Sea World in Orlando but have done it in San Antonio.

I've done Islands of Adventure and Universal and honestly I didn't like them. I didn't understand all the hype over them. However, I am attached to Disney for sentimental reasons. Its the only vacation I got to go on with my husband before he passed away.

I've been on two Disney cruises (1 four day bahamas and 1 seven day western carribbean). I LOVED them! I actually even asked my fiance if we ever went on a cruise again if he wanted to try another cruise line like Royal Carribbean. He actually said no because he liked the service we got on DCL.

I was really surprised how much he liked it considering we don't have children.
