Of course we missed you DL! How far is El Paso for you? Nice to hear that DH got the invite and you enjoyed the club. Sounds like a great day to me.

I absolutely loathe having to deal with car issues. They may as well be speaking some alien language. Go get that second opinion. It can't hurt.

Texted with Wendy. We're on for 10am tomorrow. Woo-hoo! After meeting with her, I"m heading to Build-a-Bear to pick up some toys for me!

Hey all,

Kitty tell Wendy Hi!!!! We enjoyed her pic's of her travels on FB.
DL a book on the golf course is a good thing if you have to get a car fixed:goodvibes

MK, tell Wendy that we miss her and she should stop in sometime to say hi. Oh and tell Wendy that Livvie still remembers that she was her ride buddy at Hershey last year.

Hey all!! Well it has been an interesting week to say the least.

Ben went in to the doctor last week after having a massive panic attack that resulted in poor me having to call EMS (was not a fun day, his stress levels were through the roof and it was by far the worst panic attack he had had since I've been with him.) In any case, went to the doctor for the results of his pre-sleep screening. What happend originally is that he had been complaining that he wasn't getting enough sleep at night and the boy sleeps more than I do. He just seemed like he was dragging all day long and no matter how hard he tried, he did not seem rested enough to get through the day. In any case, his doctor ordered an overnight Pulse Ox test to be done (did it at home, nurse came out and he was given a P/O2 monitor to wear on his finger over night, simple enough! ;). Test done and within a few days we got the results. Turns out his O2 levels were below 88% more than half the night. As a result, his doctor ordered a full sleep study to be done to see if there is anything more we should be concerned about. Went in for his sleep study this past Monday night, dropped him off at the clinic at about 9PM and went back to get him at around 5:10 the next morning. Wasn't expecting to already have the results that night but as soon as I walked into the office when she was getting him up, the tech informed us that he has moderate to severe apnea. He stopped breathing well over 100 times in the course of the night!!! That scared me so badly. With that said and done, we set up another sleep test to be done but this one is done with a CPAP (in fact, he's there right now and im at home posting this before i gotta go back and get him). Dropped him off at 9PM and tonight was fitting night and they're going to spend most of the night calibrating things to get it just right. Gotta go back there again at 5:15 AM to pick my baby up.

Whew, sorry if that was long winded but that's the nutshell of what has been going on in my life this week and its only going to get longer. Should probably go to bed soon on that note seeing as I have to be up in four hours. Missed you all alot!!!

Meredith :tinker:

lilmiss - Wow, what a week. Panic attacks can be very scary. Had one myself a few years ago. Really felt like I was having a heart attack. Had to be rushed to the ER. I hope he's going to be okay.

Hello all:

Long time no talk...except for you FB guys. Anyways life is starting to calm down now that summer is slowly coming to a close. Tried to read back a bit...thoroughly enjoyed the TP discussions. Never really pay attention to what kind I buy...whatever is on sale.

Mere ~ Sounds like quite the ordeal...at least you know what the problem is now.

Hope MK and Wendy have a nice visit...look forward to hearing about it.

...and before I forget the real reason I stopped by...

Happy Birthday M&N!!

:bday: M&N !

lilmiss Hope BF is feeling better. He should be sleeping better once he gets a CPAP machine. :thumbsup2

Drove the truck up the mt for a hike, noticed that floor was wet AGAIN and we didn't use the AC.

Happy Birthday M!

Well, I didn't meet with Wendy this morning. Turns out she was so jetlagged that she didn't get to sleep until 4 this morning, so she was in no shape to drive. She had to hire a driver to take her up here to come get her DS. Foiled once again! We'll have to plan another something.

Mere....glad that your BF had the sense to find out what wrong with him. That's a really low pulse-ox! He'll feel so much better with the CPAP. I had a panic attack once and it was NOT fun. Like D, it felt like I was having a heart attack. It was funny at the ER, coz I was able to give a full comprehensive history and assessment on my own! Hope BF feels better and that you both get some good sleep.

I had already planned my day following my breakfast with W, so I went shopping/errand running anyway. Boys are so clueless. I was pretty happy I found a basic white bra at Sears for $3.57. BF couldn't understand what the big deal is. I told him that regularly price bras (which I never buy) can run anywhere from $20-60 depending on what miracle its supposed to do. He freaked out. "They're THAT expensive?!". Heck yes buddy!

I also went to Michaels since I had a 40% coupon. I didn't really find what I wanted, but I did find some clearance highlighters/post-its for $2. But when I went to pay, they rang up 1 cent! Per company policy, anything ringing up a penny was to be given for free--so I got 6 sets of highlighters for nothing!

Hey Ev...nice to see you again!

DL55...that rots about the leaking truck again. HOpe you can get it fixed without ruining the budget.

Doubt there is anyone still around this evening but just in case I thought I would pop in and say hiddy-ho to everyone right before I hit the sack! I've been reading and reading and trying to catch up. Stupid DIS does not send regular updates! I know I can't blame it all on them cause I could have checked back in sooner myself. In my defense, my computer may very well be on it's death bed. :sad1: About all I have been keeping up with is browsing threads for our November DL trip planning and some quick posts on Facebook now and then.

M&N, sounded like a nice birthday surprise day with your friends. Bummer about having to take your trees down but thank heavens they did not damage your house. Yikes! I hope you have not had any more close encounters with your striped friend! I would love to see DC someday too! Very nice way to boost your post count. I must try it some day.
I would love to see Ramona and Beezus but I don't think anyone else around here would. I used to read those books when I was a kid. DD and I read them now sometimes but I don't think she appreciates Ramona as much as I did. The family enjoyed Toy Story 3 and How to Train Your Dragon so I have probably gotten in my movie limit for the next 6 months.

D&D, so glad you missed the second round of storms! I just hate that your family had to go through worrying about that again! Glad your battle with the insurance company is finally making some progress. Hate to hear that you had a disappointing visit with your mom and then her trying to talk your son into going to the party. What is this woman thinking?
Hope you get to make up for your canceled trip soon.

Jo, hope you are hanging in there even with the squatters still hanging around. How dare they interrupt your computer time! I'd have been tempted to clunk dear old dad with the spoon after pulling that stunt! Glad you got to take a break from them for a few days.
Love the idea of online grocery shopping. Too bad they don't offer it in my area.

Kitty, very impressive all that your family does in the Phils..... well, except for the cattle rustling. Hope all your visitors are settling down so you can get back to normal. What an amazing run of concerts! I looked up Celtic Woman's Amazing Grace on youtube and it was heavenly!
We went to a place in Arkansas one time where they had a recreation of the Holy Lands. They had the tour group we were with sing Amazing Grace in a "tomb". It will be forever embedded in my memory as the most beautiful I have ever heard that song.... even with me singing! The acoustics in that "tomb" worked miracles and made everyone sound like angels.
Aw darn! Too bad you didn't get to meet up with Wendy.

Pikester, congrats on the high praise and being asked to sub again! I liked your theory on cleaning house! Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow, right?

Kerrie, hope you are feeling well these days! Won't be too much longer.

Whoo-hoo DL55's making more travel plans! I have you another Pigeon song. My son listens to one called Pigeon on the Gate. Strange thing I discovered.... when you have poor eyesight and sit in the back seat the song name displayed on the radio looks more like Pissin on the gate.

Faithful_Tink, if you are still around, hello from another of the fellow Texans! I'm a SAHM too. Which part of Texas are you from? I'm up near Fort Worth.

LITC, boo that Walter did not win the contest BUT I know everyone around here still thinks he is gorgeous! Almost one year old. How can that be? I missed out seeing the photos. Send me a link! I can always use some more adorable Walter photos to look at!

pepperw23, oh my! How scary about DD! Glad she is okay! Carjackings too? Makes me glad I live in the boonies.

Sukie, you can send some of your rain my way!

lilmiss, so glad that they found out about Ben's sleep apnea. Hope they fix him up so he can get a good night's sleep.

Hi disney54us, Ev, and anyone else I missed.

As I mentioned I've been planning for our DL trip in November. Got our room and tickets awhile back. Finally, a few days ago, got a good deal on our airfare... which ended up being quite an experience. As soon as I told DH about it he said I should have made it so we could have been in the park for Thanksgiving. Silly me! I assumed that he would want to go to his brother's house like we always do but he informed me that we were NOT going this year. Would have been nice if I had known this BEFORE I got the tickets. Anyway, not being one to miss a great opportunity to not get together with his family I made a few phone calls and added a few days on our trip. Cost a bit more than my original plan but it will be worth it. I am so excited! We will be having Thanksgiving at Disneyland! How cool is that? Beats the heck out of spending it with his family!

Evening!!!

Ok, who's itching to book a trip for free dining next year? I can't believe they released dates already.

Wow...so are you going? I see you're off to WI. Sucks that MI didn't happen would have like to meet up. WDW is out for us...I'm like Pike planning the 2012 vacation. Already decided where we want to go...Scotland and North east England, and been looking at B&Bs and rental places. Nothing like planning months (years) in advance. ;)

It's cloudy and gray here...may have to do housework...or not!

Well we finally found out that DH has made it through the latest round of cuts at work. While it was a big relief for us we were really sad for the 250 other co-workers who lost their jobs on Friday. :guilty: Such a shame. Now we brace ourselves for the next round of cuts in 3 months. Could be a real "Merry Christmas" at our house this year.

Ev - Your trip plans sound wonderful. Its never too early to start planning a trip. :thumbsup2

Marie - Thanksgiving at Disneyland really IS much better than spending it with family. I'd do that in a heartbeat. Can't wait to hear more about your trip.

JO - Would love to plan a WDW trip. Especially with the Free Dining. We have to wait and see what our job situation is like before we make any plans for next year. Who knows...maybe we'll have to move there to GET a job. Wouldn't be the worst thing.

MARIE!!! I missed reading your "mini-books" on here. :rotfl: How are you doing? Thanksgiving in DL sounds so awesome. And you won't have to see family either. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.

D&D, if I make the reservation, I'm not sure we'll keep it. But I don't want to miss out on the chance of free dining if we can go.

Ev, if I had a chance to do the vacation you are planning, I'd skip Disney in a heartbeat. Jackie keeps bugging us that she wants to go to Italy for vacation. I keep asking her when she's paying for it.

Off to clean the house since I totally put it off yesterday and did yard work instead.

Mairezp I've never been to DL for Thanksgiving. You have to let us know how it goes. :goodvibes

D&DDisney So glad your DH wasn't laid off. The next round sounds even scarier as it will be so close to Christmas.:sad2:

I've had a panic attack but I realized what it was and talked myself through it. I'm more sensitive to the signs now and try to catch it before it becomes a full blown attack. So far so good. ;) Hope to never have one of those again.

Afternoon ladies!

I agree! Thanksgiving on Disney property sounds wonderful!

D...congrats to you and DH for making the cut and keeping the job. We'll just keep those prayers coming

Hi Marie! Hi Ev! hi everyone!

JO--I saw the announcement for free dining. I ordered the $1 2009 Passporter this week too. I"m secretly crunching numbers for a trip late next year. I'm actually contemplating a stay onsite with FD but going to US. Shmu did this last year. Stayed onsite but only went to the parks one day. Maybe attend a party to get the Magic Kingdom fix. Of course, it'll be painful not going to all the parks, but it may be the most budget friendly. We could eat at the hotels for free, and get a week long pass to US--I hope they still have the online promo for like $110 for 7 days. We'd rent a car anyway.

I'm still sitting on that $25 JetBlue credit that's just begging to be used also.

The other option is staying offsite at the timeshare and using the other money to go to the Disney parks. We didn't use the timeshare this year, so I two weeks somewhere else, so it would be free essentially. We'd have to pay for food. As I said, its all in my head.
