Looks like another busy weekend.
It's a good thing I never join the no spending threads on the budget board. We just bought masks and snorkels for our Hawaii trip. It cost the same as a week of Snorkel Bob's plus we can use them again when we go to Hawaii for our 25th and any future cruises. We decided we really don't need the fins. We just look like Goofy going into the water.

Just got a free bag of peaches (do we look underfed? ) ) DD and I made peach cobbler. It's still in the oven. I hope it tastes good (it smells good ).

Well TKer aunties, we did our very best but Walter did not win the fox 8 contest. Thank you ALL SO VERY MUCH for supporting Walter!

He's still our cutest baby ever! Not sure what "place" he was as they only announced the top kid. (Who supposedly receved over 367 votes per day????)

But again thank you to you all. If we ever put him in another contest I know where to look for support!

Well, my aunt just called that she's coming to visit. Tomorrow. She had told me weeks ago that she would be here sometime in August, but yes, she was that vague about it. I won't be around tomorrow, but I'll see her on Tuesday. Have to get in nice with her, as she lives in Vegas and I want to crash with her sometime soon....

Although it would be a nice day to hang the laundry, I'm avoiding chores for the time being.....hope everyone else is enjoying also!

DD is a bit upset the pigeon has flown the coop. At least we hope he has and not that a feral cat or hawk got him. Have not found any feathers just remains of doves that got caught earlier.

Ok, do over. I was telling Dl55 that I was sorry that DD was upset about the pigeon. Let's hope he's headed for greener pastures and not someone's tummy!

Weird thing is, we're having bird issues here too.

I am an accomplice to avian murder.

I was at my desk and I kept hearing this cheeping. I thought it was the cats rough housing. When I went to the dining room, I saw the two cats....and a bluejay! It was still alive, in shock I think. So I took the bird out to the deck and went back to google "injured wild bird". When I got back, the bird was gone! I looked below and the poor dear was upside down in the grass. I went downstairs, and he was still alive. I righted him and went back indoors to get a towel. The Net told me to keep the bird warm and in a dark place. But by the time I got back, the poor birdie was dead! He either had a heart attack or he broke his neck. Either way, I'm sad.

Now I have to find a shoebox for a funeral.

Hello everyone! Busy weekend here! Friday, we went out to dinner at my SIL's cousin's restaurant. A very nice place and cheap, cheap, cheap. It didn't cost much more than if he had gotten take out for the 5 of us.

Saturday, we went to one of the local car shows around here. It was nice though you had to buy tickets to get food. I don't like that since I always worry about making sure we spend them all.

Today was shopping day. I'm not sure I've mentioned it here but I've started on-line grocery shopping. I put an order in this morning to pick up this afternoon. It took all of 5 minutes to get our grocery order today from the time we pulled into the parking space till we were leaving. Did not even have to get out of the van. And I kept my grocery budget way under by not throwing junk into the cart.

MK, that is so sad about the little birdie. And excluding my own daughters, Alicia is the cutest little girl I've seen.

Oh Kitty... that's terrible. When I was little we used to find birds that were thrown out of the nest and we'd try to save them. Remember my mom giving us an eye dropper to help feed it warm milk. So sad that none of them made it.
