Good morning ladies! Its nice and sunny out there and should be warmer by this afternoon. I already have the wash in the machine, its just a matter of getting it out....

JO--your new houseguest is very handsome and quite the charmer! Does he respond to any particular name? I just use the generic kitty and everyone comes running...

I didn't watch AGT, but I did see the clip of that little girl singing. She's amazing!

I forgot to add super extra hugs for LITC and that she has the best day ever today!

It's not going to hit 80 today...looks kind of breezy out now. I'm going out for lunch and whatever happens next. Debbie and I want to visit a friend who had surgery this am but she may not be up to it yet.

I'm back. Had to go into the closet and get another blanket for tonight. We barely touched 60 today, and its only going to get more chilly as the evening progresses. And yes, I have a flannel nightgown on already.

I had a bit of an incident at the drug store today. I went in there prepared with my coupons and flyer and I rocked it! The total was $95.xx, after coupons was $59.xx and I got $23.xx in cash back for next time. My barely-pubescent cashier---surely making minimum wage--got all huffy with me about all my coupons. I was really offended and not about to apologize. I asked him what the issue was, if the register was accepting the coupons and do we need to call a manager to resolve it? He just shrugged and said that it was just a pain to do. I"m sorry--you're scanning the bar codes and I have to put up with your attitude--I think its pretty much a tie as to who's moment sucks right now.

M--what shows are you watching? Tonight is the premiere of Survivor and the season finale of Big Brother for me. Big trashy night.

Its mallomar season!!! Are y'alls areas as crazy for them as mine is? I picked up three boxes today, and when I walked by again later, they were restocking. Its a huge deal here. A sure sign of fall. Yum.

Its mallomar season!!! Are y'alls areas as crazy for them as mine is? I picked up three boxes today, and when I walked by again later, they were restocking. Its a huge deal here. A sure sign of fall. Yum.

Not even sure what a mallomar is. I remember the reference from When Harry Met Sally - but can't say what they are. Please share. Are they yummy?

Now that I think about it, a mallomar is the poor man's s'more. Its a graham cracker with a marshmallow puff on top covered in chocolate. They're only available for about three weeks in the fall, because they melt so easily in the heat or get too stiff in the cold. Its the fact that they're so rare that makes them a hot commodity. I know I'm hiding my box of them.....

And that cashier is something else. When I worked in the store, I always loved big orders with lots of coupons. The longer each order took, the less people I actually had to wait on. And less chance of waiting on some idiot.

Watched Survivor tonight. When will those people learn that you don't go running your mouth at the very first tribal counsel?

ooh, I loved loved loved the Thorn Birds! And Lace...and the Winds of War. I loved all those great mini-series. I"ve never read the book, I heard it was great. Have you read it?

I did read the Thorn Birds story. Very close to the movie but of course more detailed. It was a good read.
I've never seen those other mini-series. Will have to go rent them. Are they kinda smutty???

Lace was on of my favorites. Smutty! A girl goes to find out which of three best friends is her real mother. Its told in three different stories. There was even a Lace II when she sought out her father.

Winds of War is based on the Herman Wouk book. Its about a family during World War II. Less smutty but very engrossing. Very long too! I think it was on for two weeks.

Nobody really annoyed me yet. It's too soon for me to really form an opinion of them. But I'm sure soon enough that I'll find someone to despise and root for them to get voted off.

I don't think I've seriously watched a mini series since "V". But I'm also not much of a tv watcher. Now if it's a good book series, you can count me in.

ooh V was an excellent mini-series! I watched it within the last year too....the effects are garbage, but the characters are still compelling.

I'm not much of a reader. It really has to be a good book and I really have to get into it or I don't finish it.

I am very glad that DS likes to read. I hated reading for school when I was little.

The girls love to read, Curtis not so much. But they do get it from me. I just read the first Harry Potter last week and this week, I read the Twilight series for a second time.

I saw they have the V mini series on DVD. I may have to pick that up.

You know what I picked up today? Xanadu on DVD with lots of extras and commentary. I can't wait to watch it.

I'm the only one in the family who's a reader. Don't really know where that came from, but its only gotten worse as I've gotten older. I've just realized how much there is out there! I'm trying to convince myself for read the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...it has so much hype, but I"ve heard the first 100 pages are really tough to get through...

I just brought up that book the other day to Jackie while we were walking through Target. There's just so much hype about it.

I have yet to see any of the Harry Potter movies. I want to pick up the rest of the books first, read them all, and then see the movies.

I did read that my favorite Stephen King series is being made into a movies and mini series type thing for TV.
