tkd lisa's new years resolution (comments welcome)

Daughter had a fever yesterday, so I was busy at home with her. I just can't wait for this winter to be OVER! And take all the germs with it! I weighed in this morning. I've lost the bubble on exactly where I was last week, but I'm still .8 pounds shy of a 10 pound total loss, so I'm guessing it's 1/2 pound less than last week. Oh well, I just finished TOM, so I imagine it will come off by next week's weigh in.

Hey, this week is looking great! I've never done yoga either, but I've heard of power, or fat burning, yoga that will actually give you a workout, versus the relaxation/stretching of traditional yoga. I say if you enjoy it, do it! The exercise looks good and you eating is inspirational--keep up the great work. I predict that 1/2 pound banished along with 1 or 2 of its buddies by next week. :) Enjoy! :sunny:

hey lisa, looks like you're cruising right along. hope your dd is feeling better! i too can't wait till this winter is gone, we need some warmth and sunshine for a change ::yes:: . i'm sure the whoosh fairy will be making a stop at your house for your next weigh in. tom likes to mess with us, but since it's gone, i'm sure it took some of its presents with it :p

Lisa, I certainly hope everyone gets better at your house soon! Poor DD - she's been sick, better, sick - that's hard for her and tough on Mom, too!!

You've been doing well on your plan and your exercise is great! I bet you're in line for a new clippie in no time!

Hang in there, Lisa!! :sunny:

Hi Lisa!
Thank you for posting in my journal! I really appreciate the encouragement. I've read through your journal and I am very impressed with how you exercise consistently and how you are sticking to the carb counting. Keep up the good work!

I hope that everyone in your house is feeling better. This winter has been a long one without question. Here's hoping for :sunny: and much warmer temperatures in the near future.

I also read at the beginning of your journal that your DD made a decision for Christ. That is wonderful! What a blessing!

Hope you have a great weekend! Think Spring!

Hey, Lisa, I hope DS's first BOYscout meeting went well. How exciting for you guys! I hope you are having a great weekend--I think we're all getting spring fever--THINK SPRING! ::yes:: And, I also hope that everyone is feeling good and doing well.

Thanks for all the encouragement. We did have a pretty nice weekend. DS had a friend come over Saturday and spend the night. Since the weather was so nice, they spent a lot of time playing outside. The friend lives in a townhouse in a not great neighborhood, so he's not used to having outside room to run! The boys played "baseball" for a couple of hours. They were hitting a wiffle ball, then running for the tree, or the bush or whatever was the next base. They had lots of fun.

Since the weather was nice, I took my walks outdoors. Sun was shining really nice, so I went down to the river and back. Pretty challenging since there's a fair sized hill involved. It felt nice to do something different. On Sunday, I carried my 5 pound weights and did upper body stuff for more than 1 mile (I dropped them off about 3/4 of the way down the road, and picked them up on the way back).

It got cold again last night, so I doubt I"ll have any outdoor walks this week!

lisa, your weekend sounds like it was absolutely fabulous! way to take advantage of the nice weather. and the baseball your son and his friend played, that's awesome. it must have been really nice for his friend to get out and enjoy the yard :sunny:

great job staying on track food wise, and exercising too! can't wait for it to get nice out more regularly, and then you'll be able to do lots more walking outside! :bounce:

hope you ahve a great day :sunny:

Lisa, glad you got outside to enjoy the sunshine and warmer temps! I can't wait until Spring!! I did notice we're due for a warmup again this weekend so maybe we'll both get outside!

Glad to see all is going well for you! :sunny:

no exercise. DD had homework battles and school bully issues. Man, do I hate middle school girls!!! Visiting the school 2 days in a row is not my idea of fun!

middle school bully girls??? oh my goodness. i guess i lucked out, i never had to deal with such issues. i guess i've also always thought of bullys as boys, even though i know that girls do it too. it's really sad that it has to happen at all. hope everything works out okay for dd  :goodvibes

Oh Lisa... I hope that things get better for your DD. Middle school can be such a difficult time. Here's some :sunny: :sunny: for you and for your DD. Hope today is a much better day!:wave2:

Lisa, middle school female bullies can be the WORST! I hope everything works out soon for your DD. My DD is in 9th grade so we've just been through those years. They can be tough on the kids AND on the parents.

Here's an extra  for you - please share it with your DD, if she'll let you (mine doesn't want to be touched anymore  ).

Thanks for the encouragement friends! Yes, it's been better this week. Doreen, I'm very lucky. DD is a very loving young lady who loves hugs and kisses. I have a hard time imagining the time when she won't want to be hugged. Since she's such a high strung person, those hugs are the best way to communicate that we love her, even when we don't like what she's doing!

Update on the bully situation. I probably phrased it a little strongly. My DD has a hard time understanding personal limits, and doesn't understand why people get mad when she meddles in their business. I guess the full story here was that two lunch tables worth of girls had two different "groups" who were sitting at both tables (in other words, both groups had girls at each table, so they were talking back and forth between the tables). The other "group" was talking about boys (not sure exactly what, but it was about boys), and DD said "you shouldn't be talking about that". The other group basically called her rude names (inappropriate, but it really wasn't DD's business), and it escalated from there. All sides have admitted that the other girl pushed my daughter away from her, but the other girls won't admit to the kicking (of course, the welt on her leg kind of says that part really did happen). The main two girls in the other group got 3 days of lunch suspension. I AGAIN reminded DD that she needs to stay out of other people's business, but I'm sure this will come up again, since she just doesn't get it! Again, thanks for the encouragement. These really are tough years, and having a difficult kid to begin with doesn't make it easier!

On to the WISH update. Didn't post yesterday as I was out of town for business. Today was weigh in, and I've lost 1.5 pounds and earned my 10 pound clippie (YAY for me!!).

wahoooo!!! 1.5 pounds and your 10 pound clippie!!! :jumping1: party time!!!! :bounce:

sorry about the sticky situation with dd. sounds like it was a not so pleasant experience, even if she did stick her nose in someone else's business, that never justifies physical action. i hope things have settled down and that that welt heals quickly!

have a great day today :sunny:
