Hi, Lisa! :wave2: You are doing so well! Way to rack up those cheat free days! I don't think I could do so well away from home--in fact I know I couldn't. Keep up the great work and take care! I hope the fam is doing well. TTYL :sunny:

Denise and all who've commented on the cheat free. I think it's because the plan I've chosen is really a plan for life. If you look at what I'm eating, I'm not denying myself anything. If I want a little ice cream, I can have it. I just have to limit it to a small scoop (1/2 c) because that's still only 15g of carbs which is well within my 3 carb per meal limit. The only thing I really can't have is candy (which I don't need anyway) or really sweet desserts. Now certainly my normal eating pattern at a breakfast buffet would have included a big muffin (probably 45 g carbs), or maybe french toast (about the same), along with potatos and a breakfast meat. So I did make different choices, but that's why it's really been easy for me to rack up cheat free days. I certainly could never be cheat free on Atkins, and I think WW would drive me nuts figuring out points. That's why I settled on my type of plan. It must be working because I'm steadily (but slowly) losing weight, and not feeling deprived or hungry at all.

Anyway, today is my new weigh in day (Wed is probably better anyway, and since I was travelling last week, I switched). Weighed in at 143 today same as last week (maybe 1/2 pound lighter). A bit disappointing, because I was 142 on Saturday morning, but that darn TOM caught me by surprise yesterday, so is probably why. I'm going to look back and see, but I think it was about a week early. Explains why I was so cranky this weekend!!

No exercise, took DS to Boy scouts. Tonight we get to deliver all the pizza and cookie dough we took orders for last weekend. DS wanted to pull his wagon behind his bike. I vetoed that one, since we have a LOT of stuff to deliver, and it's going to get dark about 1 hour after we start! But he volunteered to work on an eagle project clearing an old building and associated landscaping, so I think we'll get some serious working in this weekend!

Sounds like a very busy weekend! Keep up the good work and have fun!

Lisa, how wonderful that your son is so willing to help out! That sounds like a worthwhile project!

Have a wonderful weekend! :sunny:

Talk about a low carber! You really do keep your carbs low! Wow! You have been doing great - keep it up and you will have a nice big Reward!

just wanted to stop by to say hi lisa :wave2:

hope your weekend is going and continues to go well :bounce:

Good morning everyone. Thanks a lot. We did have fun doing all the scout work on Saturday. The road clean up went well and took about an hour. Then we started on the Eagle project. Southern Maryland is a very historic area (settled in 1638 as the first Catholic colony in the US). We were at a historic site which originated in the 1680s, the current house (3rd on the property) was built in the late 1800s. It's currently owned by our local animal welfare league, and they are trying to get the grounds set up to do outdoor rentals for weddings and business events in order to have a fundraising venue which will then support the animals which they also keep on the property. There was a very large "aviary" (looked like a bunch of chicken coops to me) which was structurally pretty sound, but it wasn't very pretty. Since they don't do any domestic bird rescue, it was just blocking one of the few open flat areas which had a nice view, so they wanted it taken down, and the area cleared. DS had an absolute blast tearing things apart! We probably spent about 3 hours working. Honestly DS was productive for about 1 1/2 hours (removing the chicken wire, hauling boards away, etc. Then they got it down to the really heavy lifting work. The boy whose project it was had DS and another new scout over "taking these nails out of the posts so that we can re-use them". Funny thing was that some of the older boys started to go over and help them. It was kind of funny trying to explain that this was something for the littler guys to do to keep them busy and out of the way of the big machinery!

Anyway, onward and upward. I stayed on plan (even counting the pizza that we had at the project. I didn't have one of the donuts).

Friday, 3/12:
am: 2 eggs, 1 slice toast (1C)
lunch: chicken broth, shrimp stir fry w/ little rice (1C)
snack: wheat nuts (1C)
2 mile WATP
pm: chicken breast, biscuit (1C)
Total for the day - 4 carbs + exercise

Sat, 3/13

lunch 1 1/2 slices cheese pizza (3 C)
pm: low carb bagel turkey sandwich (1C)
snack: 1 hard pretzel, cheese (1/2 C)
Total for the day - 5 1/2 C + exercise

Sun 3/14

Whew, another weekend down!

Wow.. Sounds like you had a great weekend! And you stayed on track with everything! Bravo!!!!

You are doing a great job!!!

Have a happy and healthy Monday!!!

Had a hard time getting on the boards yesterday, so here's my last two days journals. Weigh in was this morning, and I"m down a pound. Been having a hard time working in the exercise with my schedule. Since last Wed, I exercised Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday morning. That's only 3 times, and my plan calls for 4. Anyone know how that works for the clippie? Do you just not count that week, or do you go back to the beginning? Thanks!

Journal for 3/15:
am: 2 eggs, 1 slice toast (1C)
snack: yogurt (1C)
lunch: cottage cheese w/ peaches (1C)
cheese
cashews (1C)

pm: chicken taco salad, no beans, no shell
snack: cashews (1/2 C)

Total, 4 1/2 carbs, no exercise since I had a Cub Scout committee meeting

Journal for 3/16:
2 mile WATP first thing (had a meeting at 8, so I went in a little late).
am: 2 eggs, 1 slice toast (1C)
snack: peanuts (1/2 C)
lunch: roast beef sandwich (2C)
cup of veggie soup, no potatos
pm: chicken stir fry
serving of rice (1C)

Total carbs 4 1/2 (no exercise, I watched a video with the kids :( )

I'm not sure how that works. I think as long as you make an effort do it at least 3-4 times a week it should count though! But I dont really know officially!

Hoping things can slow down a bit for you! Have a great St. Patrick's Day!

congrats on the pound down! :bounce: sounds like you had a really great time with all that demolition work :)

as for the exercise clippie, i think it's whatever you make it to be. if you feel like you didn't meet your exercise goal, then i'd just leave that week out, not start over from the beginning. honestly, i missed day isn't that big of a deal. i'd just say keep moving forward and keep adding on the weeks/months :bounce:

hope you have a great day today :sunny:

Thanks for the input on the exercise clippie. I think I'll just wait 1 extra week into April to make it a 3 month clippie.

Journal for 3/17:
am: 2 eggs, 1 slice toast (1C)
snack: yogurt (1C)
lunch: cottage cheese w/ peaches (1C)
cheese
cashews

Major temptation, our cleaning lady brought in lumpia and Thai noodles and set the right by my desk! Man did they smell good! But I just kept flagging people down to EAT THAT STUFF so that it would be gone! Didn't take any of it.

pm: salad, prime rib
peas, roll (1C)

Scheduled rest day for Girl Scouts

:wave2: Hi Lisa,
Great job resisting temptation yesterday ::yes:: ! Hope you have a wonderful day :sunny: !

hey lisa, i'm with val, great job resisting that food! it's so hard especially when it's sitting right in front of you! very very good idea to flag people down and make them eat it :p

hope you have a great day today :sunny:
