This is something that quite a few people used to do when they were in Disney or any other vacation place....

You know those little pads of paper and pens next to the phone area......when I or others would come back from the parks like at noontime or in the pm.....I would pick up the pad and start jotting down our day activities....like we went to which park and ate where and then if we went to another place or whatever....but each day was on that pad and I just put it in my luggage at the end of our trip.....
This may work for some of the people who forget........"WHAT DID WE DO ON THAT DAY>?" OR you may say.......NOW WHAT DID I DO WITH THAT PAD OF PAPER???????????? :goodvibes

My father keeps a journal of every holiday he has been on from childhood til the present day, so he can pinpoint what he did and what he saw over 60 years ago.
He takes a note book with him then transfers it to the journal when he gets back

my wife started keeping a journal a bunch of years ago and writes down stuff during our noon pool break and late evenings. Fun to read, adds little quips of the day and what we saw and did. Keeps her occupied for a short while and she likes doing it. She starts as soon as we get on the train and finishes up when we arrive home, she picks a new journal book for every trip, has a nice library of them now.

I bought a small (about 4x6) spiral and kept it in my bag the whole trip. I jotted notes when we were on a bus, in a line, or at the pool. It is a scribbled mess that no one else could read (even my traveling companion children who tried to read over my shoulder) but it's really helping me remember and write the TR!

I just make notes on the park map from that day - when get back to the room - just toss it in the suitcase

Maybe someday I will get around to my trip in August starting the morning Hurricane Charley arrived

I use my cell phone for everything and it's not even a PDA/blackberry type.

It has a note pad and voice record that I use a lot or just a pic of a CM that was going above & beyond so I can report that as well.

I take a LOT of photos, not just of things that make a good photo, but of things that will remind me of what happened (like taking a picture of your room key, so that you remember to tell the story of how you locked yourself out of the room three times in one night).

I also carry a notepad to jot down notes, but my memory is so awful that half the time I don't remember what they mean!

Our latest trip included a new mini-DV camcorder. Only after we got home and I started downloading to my PC did I notice that the tape is time-coded. Using Microsoft's Movie Maker allowed me to record exactly when each section of tape was taken. This is an easy way to verify when an activity took place.
The only thing we noted was the camcoder was still set to Central Standard Time, so we were an hour off, no big deal. I believe all newer DVRs have this feature.

Taking notes seem to be such a great idea. I do scrapbooking and am planning to scrapbook my trip as soon as I get home in December. Unfortunately, I am not a fast scrapbooker so this might take me a little while and since I have an awful memory these days notes will certainly help me remember alot of the little things that I will want to journal in my book but will certainly forget. :wizard:

A lot of nice suggestions for all the new DIS'ers who may be going to WDW soon or for anyone wanting to write a Trip Reports.

I had a printed out schedule for everyday of information. Park hours, ADRs, character locations etc. On the back I would record what we did and where we ate while waiting in line or waiting for parades. And of course the date and park was already printed on the front. :thumbsup2

Before I go to a park for they day I list the things we hope to see/do there- then I jot the time down as we do each thing. It is a really fast way to keep track of the order of events. I also save all my many receipts. For dining plan reporting I note the price (if you are on the DDP no price shows).

Then I come home and start a trip report...

I would write notes on the bus ride to the park about the previous day or about something that happened in the park on the way to another park. Otherwise, I just rely on my memory, which is pretty good.

Thanks for the great tips! We leave out tomorrow morning and I'm posting my pretrip planning report in just a minute...... :Pinkbounc
