Hey, I'm new here so I'm sorry if there's already a thread about this - but I hunted around and didn't see anything.

My BF and I are going to WDW in mid-April and its our 2nd trip together. I've been loads of times with my family growing up, too. I feel like every time I've been is all rush-rush-rush to get everything in. This trip we have 4 full days and 2 half days (afternoon on arrival; morning on depart) and I know we'll have enough time to SLOW DOWN!

I'm liking the "drink around the world" idea for Epcot. I always wanted to find a reason to wander through the pavillions more - and taking the time to finish a drink sounds like a good excuse to me!
Any ideas on other ways to keep from running from one line to another in the other parks?

Neither of us are spa fans. So that's not really an option - not really in the budget either!

Haven't done a lot of shows, either - but I don't want to feel like I'm just watching a movie. We've done Philharmagic, Fantasmic and Muppets 3D and loved all of them. We tried to watch the Stunt Show at DHS but it got rained out after just a few scenes. Any recs on can't-miss shows?

I know this is asking a lot! I just want this trip to be so great that the BF won't complain when I want to plan a trip every year or two!! hehe

Thanks so much!!!

Festival of the Lion King show in AK - must see for me!
Lots to walk around AK too if you are into animals, just stop and smell the flowers along the way.
There was an option for AK too, you could order a packed lunch and go find a nice spot to share a picnic too.
Watch the fireworks from the beach at the Poly for MK.
Drinks in EPCOT are really fun!

Thanks to both of you! :)

I like the idea of fireworks on the beach at the Poly - our last trip we snuck over there and relaxed in the hammocks one night. haha.

Now we just have to see what shows the boy is up for... ;)

Besides the "drink around the world" idea, try out the "monorail pub crawl." Start an evening with dinner at one of the monorail resort restaurants, then start hitting the bars at each resort. If the timing is right, end up by watching fireworks in the Magic Kingdom. I've had two great nights doing this.

That sounds like a fun idea, too!
I definitely want to get a super foo-foo drink at Poly and watch Fireworks on the beach there... so maybe we can combine both of these ideas.
Thanks!!

We took the boat from DTD to POR, took a carriage ride through the resort and POFQ and ended the night with Yee Haa Bob and a couple of hurricanes. It was really fun and relaxing.

Well DW and I usually spend one day not going to a park and hit up DTD and check out the other resorts. We just take our time and browse around have a drink and watch the people and stuff.

- Yes! Poly Beach is has a nice viewing area but of all 3 locations I really enjoyed GF... grab a large pizza for $13 4 bottles of your beverage of choice and sit under an umbrella and watch fireworks or by the beach with your food or by the boat dock.

- Hammock at BC/YC.

- Watching Fireworks at Wilderness Cabin beach Area.

- parasailing/tandem maybe ???

- watching Movie by the beach at BC, Grandstand Pool at SSR

Ditto - it is my home resort, so I do that quite often.

Try out the margaritas and cold, cold beer at Paradiso 37. The appetizers are awesome too.

Ragland Road has entertainment as well, including a clog dancer. Beer is also good and cold there, and the appetizers at the bar are great.

The Turf Club over at SSR and Olivia's at OKW are also wonderful, especially if you can get out on the patio. Wonderful view of the water and DTD. Love watching the water taxis go by from POR/POFQ.

Also, in lieu of a carriage ride, you can also rent surrey bikes at POR/POFQ. 30 minutes and you can get to both resorts. Especially beautiful just around dusk. I did it with my mom one year.

not that it's "for adults", but, as long as you're at the poly beach anyway, there is also the "electrical water pagaent" that cirlces the seen seas laggon. hits poly, Gf, MK, CR, and fw, at dif. times. it's really cute. jsut lit up floats with music.
try a segway tour, either at epcot or fort wilderness (you need reservations)

I second DTD. DH went there for lunch at TRex. When we were done we thought we'd kill some time walking around, and ended up being there for five hours! We just took our time, looked at everything, it was really nice. Same thing for the World Showcase at Epcot and the Oasis at AK. We naturally want to hurry up to do the rides, but there's so much to be seen when you just follow the trails, or sit on a bench. GL have fun!
