We've been to Disney a few times, so we aren't newbies but I've never been during a super busy time. The busiest time I've been was 2 weeks before Easter, so we left the weekend before easter weekend. So technically spring break season, but I'd think the week leading into Easter weekend would be worse. I am not sure what to expect exactly, or if I need to plan any differently. There are 8 of us, 4 adults, and 4 boys, 15, 13, and 2 10 year olds. We are staying at Riviera so we can do the deluxe hours if those are still a thing by then (are they staying all thru 2024?) We don't neeed to try to do all the things, and honestly, idk if we'll rope drop. We may try a different approach now with older kids, and start later and stay till close. Just wondered if there were any tips other than just lowering my expectaions lol

The evening extra magic hours were announced to continue through 2024, so you should be good there! Take advantage of them as well as early entry. I would also strongly consider Genie+. It will be an additional $30 - $35 per person (based on Thanksgiving 2023), but it might be worth it. Or, maybe do a MVMCP while you are there. It's an additional ticket purchase but it might help you get more done at the MK if you are more attractions focused. It might be worth it to purchase a Touring Plans subscription. They can create a Touring Plan for you based on the attractions you want to experience which will help optimize your time. And they have a lot of great information!

ADRs are even harder to get, particularly for Thanksgiving Day. I think a lot of 60+10 folks make multiple reservations, so if you have a shorter stay, you find extremely slim pickings (More than usual). But, we’ve always had a lot fun Thanksgiving week! We make use of early entry (maybe not an option for your group if the boys don’t wake up early), take the middle of the day off, then go to late hours wherever they may be. We often make a nice lunch ADR then use QS for dinner to keep flexibility.
