I know there have been several tip questions asked before, but I was wondering if anyone could help me with tipping the guys (at RPR) who bring your luggage in and take it out. We have only been there one time, and my dad took care of all of that. DH and I don't travel much, so we really don't know what to tip. I think we took our own luggage to our rooms last time, and if we do that again, would we still tip the guy for just watching it for a few minutes? Should anyone else be tipped at the hotel?

I may be wrong (DH always takes care of the tipping), but I think he does $1-2 per bag. Also maid service should be tipped, and I think that would be $1 per person per day.

Thanks! How do you tip the maids? Are there envelopes in the rooms?

We just put it in an envelope and write maid service on it. I don't think Universal hotels have envelopes. I;ve never stayed at Universal, but I have never seen them in any other hotel. I know at WDW some guests. take great pride in printing special envelopes with Disney pictures on them that say Mousekeeping. If you wanted to go to the troule, I'm sure you could do someting similar.

Thanks!! I think we will by-pass the special envelopes, but I will take some plain ones. Thanks again for the info!!:sunny:

Make sure to put "Housekeeping" on the envelope and leave it on the pillow. They usually won't take it from any other place, I put one on the TV once and we found it still there when we got back, I called the front desk and was informed about putting the tip on the bed. You can also put in any housekeeping requests on the envelope and usually get whatever you ask for. HTH:teeth:

Thanks!! I have already addressed my envelopes, but I had no idea they would only take them from the pillow. I had planned on leaving them on a table or dresser. That's good to know! Do you think it would be okay to write any requests on the outside of the envelopes? They are already sealed with the money inside.

Yes, it's fine to put requests with the tip. I find that Loews has a bad habit of taking away bathrobes to be cleaned and then not replacing them. So, we find that although we've started out with two bathrobes for two people, somewhere in the middle of our stay we are left with one bathrobe that we fight over and then have to ask for another.

I left a note with our tip for turn-down service for another bathrobe and that was accommodated promptly.

Yes, I always leave my requests right on the envelope so they can see it when they open it. Have a great trip!
