Tipping. Why do I feel guilty?

Tips sounds fine to me. Add me to the group of posters who thought you got a sincere thank you.

Did you give him a ten a twenty and ask for change? I could see a delivery person being annoyed if he had to fumble for change. In that case I probably would have let him keep the change, maybe just ask for a dollar if I wasn't feeling the need to tip extra.

Paid with CC so I gave him $4 cash. Older man (65 or so) so maybe he was just tired. It is an unthankful job. 2 sons delivered pizza during college and they had awful stories. Deliveries in the snow, pot holes, getting stuck in drives and then no tip. They used their own cars and gas and Triple A to get them unstuck.
The guy just seemed so, I don't know, exhausted maybe. I probably read more in to it. You know, how you have a certain feeling?
Anyway, thanks for letting me know I was not cheap!

I felt I tipped enough but he looked at me lke I was cheap. We are talking Pizza Hut $10 pizza and wings, $19.34. No coupon. I'll give it a rest but I do not like to feel I stiffed the delivery guy.

I order delivery from Pizza Hut and I just tip 20% on the food total, not on the tax and not on charges tacked on. I have been a waitress and I have worked at Pizza Hut And I feel that is fair.

Some of the wealthiest people have been coupon clippers and what others have labelled as cheap but that is also how they held onto their money.
