tipping shuttle drivers

How much do you think shuttle drivers (like Mears) should be tipped? (the vans, not the private limos). My husband says $1.00 per bag...is that enough?

I always use mears and give the driver $1.00 a bag. I think I read about the amount to tip in one of the guidebooks.
