We will be driving down to WDW and Universal in August. We will be staying at the BWV for 12 nights and 4 nights at the Hard Rock. Between us, we will have about 8 bags. When we pull up to the the hotel, who and how much do you tip. I usually tip $1-2 when I drop off the car and pick it up. However, when you first pull in someone usually unloads the car onto luggage carrier. What do you tip this person. Someone else may bring the luggage inside. What does this person get. Sometimes if the room is not ready, it is someone else who brings the luggage to your room. What do you tip this person. Rule of thumb is again $1-2 a bag. Is that for each person who handles the bag or do you give it to one person and then the shift splits the tips?

Thanks.

They won't split the tips; usually whoever you tip is the one who gets it. If we drop our bags off to be held for us, we tip when we pick them up, not on drop off. We've actually tried to tip on drop off before, and the bellman has waved the tip away. If we're having the bags delivered to our room, then we tip the person who delivers them.

Cheers!

in general if they store your bags it will be the same person who took them who will bring them out for you unless they change shifts.
You can also self park and check in than bring your bags in later or have them brought in. The self parking in close to the Villa side and sometimes faster to walk to depending on where your room is.
In general it should be 1-2 a bag. If they bring them to your room I would say 2 a bag if you pick them up I would say 1 a bag.

When we arrive we tip the valet person $2-$3 dollars for the car, when we are staying in the Villas we have additional luggage, (grocery's) we also tip the Bell Services person that unloads the car $5.00.

When staying at the Villas you can have many smaller items that don't really equal a suitcase so I group smaller items together. We usually have a large cooler (they receive extra for a heavy cooler) then add the other luggage into the mix $1.00 per piece this all goes to the Bellman that actually brings everything to the Villa.

When checking out it's easier as the same bellman that picks our luggage up from the room also packs the car.

The best information I can give you is have plenty of one and five dollar bills so often when we get cash for the trip we end up with larger bills.

I tip $2 - $3 for the car valet. Usually the $3 is for the person retrieving the car if they're fast and we didn't have to wait long. Especially if I see them running for it.

$5 - $8 for the person unloading the car. We have a lot of luggage.

$2 each for the large pieces and $1 each for the small pieces to the person that brings them up.

Then another $5 on the bed for days when full maid service is scheduled.

Same tip for the person coming to get our luggage, $1 - $2 each piece and and extra $5 when they help us load the car.

I used to think it looked so sophisticate seeing adults tip and learning the whole tip handshake thing. Now I realize it is a lot of work to keep up with it and making sure we have a lot of $1 and $5 saved up before we go, otherwise we need to go to the bank to get some changed out.
