Tipping for maid service

I am sure that this has been asked before so I offer my apologies in advance.

We will be at BWV for 9 nights so I am assuming that we will have one trash and towel service and one full service. I know the tipping recommendations for a regular hotel room but how about DVC?

There's no real "recommended" tipping. Some folks leave nothing. Some leave a good amount of money. Here's what I normally do:

Studio, $5 T&T and $10 for full cleaning
1BR, $5 - $10 T&T, $10 - $15 full cleaning
2BR, $10 T&T, $20 full cleaning

This recent poll:

indicates that about 64% of those responding tip mousekeeping (not a scientific poll). A few months ago there was another poll about tipping mousekeepers and I think that the results were similar.
We tip about the same as backyardponder, a little more for mousekeepers who do extra things for us. We use these envelopes so that the mousekeeper knows that the money is their tip: http://www.themouseforless.com/downloads/trip/mousekeeping.shtml

I tip 20% of the cost as if we had to pay for the service. The cost of the service can be found on the DVC member's website.

I do not tip housekeeping because these are not positions that Disney lists as positions to tip.

I tip mousekeeping if I'm staying on a cash basis since I get housekeeping service every day. I haven't tipped in the past for T&T service. My trips on points have been solo in a studio, usually on a split stay. I don't go through enough towels to need new ones. I'd reconsider if I were staying for 7 days in one place, and we'll definitely tip on our upcoming family trip in a 2BR.

We don't tip because it is a non-tipped position.

When we leave on checkout day, we strip the beds, pile all the towels in the tub, empty the refrigerator - basically clean up after ourselves so it's easier for the housekeeper to get the villa ready for the next guests.

Where is this list? I have never seen it. Someone on another thread told me to look in the packet of stuff at check-in, but it was not there.

We tip:
$5.00 - full cleaning studio
$10.00- full cleaning 1-bedroom

Trash & Towel days are hit and miss because I usually call to change them to a different day, and housekeeping usually messes those changes up.

We are very neat, and just 2 people but I just feel that anyone cleaning our toilets, etc. deserves a little extra. I know it's not a "tipped" postition, but I feel better leaving a few $$.
