Tuesday 31st July
Id arranged a late check out so we didnt need to be out of the room until 1pm. We woke about 8am and DH and DD got some breakfast at the lounge then headed to the Volcano pool while DS and I went down a bit later and went to the quiet pool. DD was trying to be the slide princess this is the first one down the slide and gets a special white lei. She wasnt picked so she and DH joined us in the quiet pool where we stayed until about 11. The kids and I went back to the room where we showered and changed and DH came up about 12. He took some of our bags to the car and we met him at Captain Cooks for lunch where we had DH - Cesar Salad, DS Burger, DD Cheese Flatbread and a pepperoni Flatbread for me. Afterwards it was Pineapple dole whip for DH and I and a Mickey bar for DS with an Itsakadoozie for DD.
We went back to the room to collect the last of our things and said goodbye to the Poly for now. It is a nice resort and I can see why so many people love it here. For us if we were going to stay in a Deluxe MK resort it would be a tough call between here and Contemporary. We felt the rooms were better furnished and felt more spacious at the CR but the overall resort theme was much better at the Poly. The decider for us though would probably be an MK view at the CR you just cant beat that.
Anyway back to the trippie .We were going to AK to do a few rides but first stopped off at the villa to unload our stuff. It only took about 20 minutes and we were soon on our way to AK.
We went into the park about 2pm and we were going to ride Everest but it was down due to thunderstorms in the area. DH and DD went on ITTBAB for the first time and said it was really good while DS and I went to Primeval Whirl doing more pin trading on the way. Just as we were getting off we spotted DH and DD so we went on again with DH and I sitting in the chicken area. While we were waiting it started to rain and by the time the kids got off it was torrential. There was nothing for it but to walk to the exit where we got soaked through on the way. DD had a great time though skipping through all the puddles.
We made it back to the car dripping wet and still needed to go to Publix. It was uncomfortable walking round Publix but we got what we needed and were soon on our way home. It wasnt raining at the villa so DS and DD got in the pool in their clothes as they were already ringing wet. DH and I put the shopping away changed into dry clothes and I started to unpack while he downloaded all the photos.
Meanwhile DSs Sheep sneaked in a quick game of pool and was remarkably good
We kept hearing this beeping noise and eventually worked out that it was one of the smoke detectors. We called the Management Company and they were round in 10 minutes to change the battery. I cooked dinner which was a frozen lasagna and a salad for DH & I, some pasta for DS and a hotdog for DD. DH was starting to feel rough with a bad headache so it looks like he got whatever I had yesterday. He went to bed about half 6 and we didnt hear from him again until the next morning.
I caught up on the trip reports and the kids played pool, played with their Nintendos and we watched some TV. We went to bed a half 9.
Tomorrow - DD's choice.
