Timing question

We are heading to DW in January for the first time (not first time to DW first time in January) and I'm trying to figure out if we would be able to make Happily Ever After coming from a 5:30 dinner reservation at Jiko. We usually go to DW in the warmer months and are always too hot and tired to stay for the nighttime entertainment. I like that HEA is at 8:00 but am not sure if our dinner time will be too close. I was even thinking of doing the dessert party but that would be even earlier to get there. We would definitely take direct transportation from AKL to MK.

Yes, I would say that's cuttting it close. We've eaten at Jiko several times and it's always taken about 2 hours. Even if your meal only ends up being 90 minutes, that puts you at 7 pm. If you got a Minnie Van right then and there, maybe you would make it, but you need to drive to MK and get through security. You probably wouldn't end up with a great viewing spot. I would either see HEA on another day or cancel Jiko for that evening.
