Timing for great rates at Poly?

Ok...search feature is still down...bear with me.

My DH and I want to make a trip to WDW next fall for our 20th anniversary, just us, no kids. I would love to stay at the Poly, he would be happy at PORFQ. Our anniversary is early Sept, but we're pretty flexible for travel time in the fall. We'll have an AP because we can't go and not take the kids eventually right?

So, did anyone get a great deal for the Poly this past fall? What about a package deal...I usually do everything seperate, but since it's just DH and Me, would a package offer better prices?

We got excellent rates for 2003 - 7 nights for 4. Last year was 7 nights for 5. These specials normally didn't show up until later in the summer (JULY I think?). Those were the best I saw. I found that if you can't get your favorite hotel straight away, you can book your second choice then keep checking. As people's vacation plans changed we were able to change ours, and get the exact hotel we wanted! That's what I am waiting for - Sept. specials so we can stay at the Poly!

We got a very good rate on the Poly this past September because we were lucky enough to get postcard codes. AP rates did come out for our dates but the discount basically the same as the postcard. If you have AP's you will probably make out pretty well. The month of September is usually dead so WDW often offers some nice deals.
