Timeshare Woes, Need Advice

Last week I posted that I had purchased a timeshare deal from USA TravelPro. It seemed like a good deal, and we would be able to add an extra week to our holiday for four people for $600. CDN. It was to include(one day, for 2 adults) tickets to a park of our choice, and a 5 hour cruise for all of us in Cocoa Beach. I have just received the information by courier, and it is not what it seemed. There were undisclosed costs, blackout dates, and there is no mention of either the tickets or the cruise. My credit card company says that I have a strong case to dispute my purchase and receive a refund after returning all materials. I am not able to call the company directly to ask for a refund until Monday, but I thought some of you might have some advice as to how I should proceed. This is a Florida based company, so is there a state government division I should contact if I don't get satisfaction from the company themselves? I asked specifically about blackout dates and was told there weren't any, and I purchased the trip because the free park tickets (we would chose SeaWorld) were going to save us @ $150 CDN. Please advise!

Florida Does have strong laws about the Travel Industry, anyone selling Travel has to have a number. It should be on their paper work .If not try looking them up on the internet.

The Attorney General is the office that you should contact by e-mail or phone.

If you do decide to return the materials, make sure you send it in such a way that you get a copy of the signature of the person that accepts it at the timeshare end. Also make a copy of the materials that you return (as best you can). You will more than likely need these items to share with yor credit card company. Good Luck!

I've done a few tours in my time and usually you receive the gifts (tickets, cruise certificates, etc) upon completion of the tour. Even so, they should not have mislead you regarding balckout dates and costs.

Does Florida have any rules regarding time to review materials and change your mind? I believe in Canada you can change your mind and return purchased with in 48 hours and receive a full refund, regardless of what the return policy is at the store or business. My problem is what I was told and believed to be true is not what the documentation I received told me. Had I know about blackout dates and other fees I would not have made the purchase. I have been on the phone all morning with this company, and they are a member of the BBB, so I hope we can resolve this amicably, without having to lodge a dispute with my credit card company.
