Timeshare Store Inventory

Take a look at the inventory of resales available on the Timeshare store website. I can't believe there's so many available. WUWD?

I expect there is a certain level of inventory turnover that is normal for the timeshare business. DVC has grown and accordingly so has the inventory on the market at any one time.

Inventory goes up at the end of every summer, I think for two reasons:

1) Some owners planned "one last trip" and knew they would be selling, and

2) Some owners realized they didn't actually take a trip this summer, and they figure their love affair with DVC may be over....life changes and suddenly you don't want to go. Those are the great contracts to find....they usually come loaded!

That is in addition to the divorce and financial reasons that people always seem to be selling for.

I've noticed this trend for a couple of years (even before I actually bought into DVC). In Apr-May-June resales are really hard to come by....Sept-Oct you usually see quite a few.

Gosh, I watch Timeshare Store's site every day. In the summer, it seemed like they were averaging about 75 listings every day which is way more than now. And they weren't all "sale pending" either. They sell so many that the new ones just replace the ones that sell each day.

To me, it doesn't look like they have a bunch more listings compared to summer. Maybe I'm goofy. (Not Goofy, just goofy.)

When I bought resale, it didn't matter to me if there were a whole lot of listings or not. The one that interested me was the one I wanted to buy!!
