We contacted the Timeshare Store on 11/19/02 regarding 150 points of VWL that we were interested in. We had already purchased 400 points at HH through DVC earlier that year.

We received notice that we closed last week. Considering that there were 3 major holidays and 10 days (our vacation) - I think that this was a very easy and quick transaction and we recommend The Timeshare Store without reservation.

Now all we need to do is plan our "getaway"!!

Glad everything went well with your transaction!

I started the process with them last week.

That would mean we would close around the first week of March...... so long away!

Congratulations on your purchase!

kdonnel - remember we had Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years throughin in our wait plus we were on vacation....so you might not have that long to wait.

Maistre Gracey - "good taste" ehhh, well, thank you! The approximity to Epcot and MK plus the horses were a big draw.
Next we are looking at Vero Beach.....but I think we need to pay this one off first!

I definitely will buy with The Timeshare Store though - their affiliates at Tammac Financial and The Time Share Closing Store are professional and courteous also. This is NOT to say that our DVC rep was anything but outstanding, it is just the points are getting too high.

See you when we are all home!

This is refreshing news. I have been toying around with the idea of purchasing a re-sale and have contacted the Timeshare store three times--I never received any reply from them except the canned reply from the website. This concerned me, but maybe I'll give it another attempt.

Please do give them another try. I am certain that there is a logical reason for their lack of response at your other attempts.
I knew what I wanted when I contacted them. Have you looked at any of their offerings?
Not to say which one has me tempted but there is a real bargain in their listings right now!

Our first purchase was through DVC, the one we just completed was with The Timeshare Store. Both of 'em were equally painless. Softie that I am, I almost felt like I was betraying a family member by not purchasing through DVC the 2nd time - but, with VWL the first time, and a BW resale the 2nd, and the amazing difference in point costs with the resale, it was the only financially prudent thing to do.

Sorry, DVC. Nothing personal, but I literally saved thousands. Still love y'all, tho.

Interesting that you felt you were "betraying" a family member with the resale - I think we felt like that too, but we had already called and talked with the DVC rep who sold us our original 400 points and talked about Saratoga. She said it wasn't going to be available for another year or so. Then I mentioned wanting to pick up another 100-200 points somewhere sooner and she either didn't hear what I said or was confused by what I had previously requested.
So after reading all the good things about the Timeshare Store - and evaluating the cost involved - it really was the only economically sensible thing to do for us.

The only problem I am having is the "I want more Points" syndrome that I heard is common with the DVC members!

HELP!

We are considering going re-sale. What is the address for the place that you used.
Thanks,
Heather

I'm glad you posted this good report about the Timeshare Store. I tried to contact then by e-mail as potential seller and they didn't get back to me, either. And when I called, only one person seemed to know what he was doing. It seems as if the benefit to the seller is advertising and paperwork handling. In my case, a couple of people have contacted me to buy our BCV points directly so paying a broker seems like a waste of money. Now I don't know what to do.

Jerry was my contact and he was top notch! Give him a call.
He answered my first e-mail fast. Then I spoke with him on the phone - very personable and his service was fast and all the information he provided was accurate.

Their advertisement is also located at the top of this thread.

I don't know the "ins and outs" of selling property, but I guess it can be done if you know what to do and it's all legal.
Good luck!

Rae519, we are on the same track as you, closing today on 150 points at OKW. We mailed the deposit on 11/21. Jerry is great, but it's best to pick up the phone and call. He seems to be pretty available, and you'll get your questions answered faster. Diana

Thanks Rae519. I'll keep you posted!
