Timeshare rip-off

I was able to book 8 nights in a premium 2 bedroom which is about 900 square feet. 4 nights in Orlando and 4 nights in Pt. St. Lucie. I will still have almost 25000 options left for next year, which depending on the itme of year I could get another 5 nights in a 1 bedroom premium, so after all my complaining not a bad deal at all. In order to use the options like this, you can only book within a 90 day time period. That's the key, outside of 90 days, you can only book a full week. Just wanted to thank the original author again because he made me wake up and now I am pretty happy with this unit and will keep it!!
This is indeed good to hear Kim. Glad it worked out for you. I knew there had to be something good about Vistana and starwood points/options for there to be so many Vistana owners out there. Being a Fountains owner, I can only partake of the starpoints which imho isn't anywhere near as good a deal as the star options that you have. Thanks so much for the update. Sounds like you have a very nice trip planned.

". It seems that this timeshare doesn't even trade on II and therefore she has no chance to get it. Her salesman told her she could trade freely into DVC."

I just did a Vistana presentation. My salesperson never said I could trade into DVc. She clearly stated that trades are thru RCI and not II.

Also, the buy in for their "off season" was 13,900.00 which is higher then minimum DVC by in at 84 pp. I don't know why she didn't just buy at DVC,( course, maybe if I read the rest of the thread I'll find out).

Actually Vistana is dually affiliated now Vistana's Interval Listing Still, I think DVC blocks trades for a 45 mile radius.

ClarabelleCow, I assume you paid one of those rip off companies that charge an up front fee and then promise the moon.

Dean - sure did and boy did I get suckered!!! I had the listing on TUG for about 6 months with nothing, I did receive several realtors/brokers contacting me, but theysaid if it sold, they wanted 1500-2000, and I would only get 2000-3000 for my unit, so being a gambler, I decided to go with one of the upfront companies, impressive website, etc, in 3 months, I only received 1 inquiry and theyhave yet to call me back!!! Live and Learn!!!
